Mac Pro Palettes discussion

For traveling I like using the mac palette without the insert and putting all the products I can in one place ie: eyeshadow, blush, contour. I''ve even been thinking about depotting a bronzer and face powder just to keep in a palette for travel, but I'm not sure about how much space they would take up, guess it could work in the double.

beautiful!!!

any chance of names :)
Thanks everyone! :)

I believe the names are:

Old Palette - Row 1: Taupe Shape, Poised, <empty>
Old Palette - Row 2: Pink Cult, Enough Said, <empty>

New Palette:
Row 1 - Hidden Treasure, Gana, All's Good
Row 2 - Dirty Plum, Getaway Bronze, Modern Manderin
Row 3 - Immortal Flower, Full of Joy, Sur
Row 4 - Hipness, Peony Petal, Lovecloud

The lighting isn't that great though so they don't look exactly true to shade.

I started doing something different with depotting though with the MAC blushes and NARS e/s. I feel like I get all up in the hype of LE and the name of the blush/eyeshadow that I am not really looking at the color. I noticed that when I depotted all my NARS e/s and mixed them all up without knowing what palette they came from, I really only like a percentage of the colors. I put them in a free palette and stored the rest away. This made me use what I actually like and not just for the name of it. I pared down my collection considerably. I know it sounds silly but stripping the colors from their names made me appreciate the color for the color itself.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure those are the names because I tend to buy blushes from the same collection (Tres Chic, Strong Woman, Mickey Contractor, To The Beach, etc).

^^^i always wondered why the every day, non-makeup artist, person was concerned with seeing the names on their shadows in palettes. :dunno: I get having em labeled (depots) to replace them when empty, but why the need to see the name on the palette?

Really?  I'd love to see a picture of the 2 blushes fitting into a quad palette without the insert. :)  I completely agree.
I would love to see a quad without insert, too! I have been debating buying some empty quads and using them without inserts because I am in desperate need of some small sized travel - friendly palettes. Not 100% sold on the Z palettes.
Two of my MUFE blush pans are in the quad without the insert, not MAC. So yeah, MAC making a duo blush palette would be great! Sorry for any confusion, I made a mistake.

Yea i only labeled the depot themselves. I never put it on the palette. Never felt the need
to.
Maybe its easier for people to grab the color they want faster? Idk lol

Agreed. But I find it pretty easy to memorize the eyeshadows just by looking at them... and I have quite a few. Unless it is done meticulously and with a computer, I think the labels look a little sloppy and I can't handle that.

While I love the clear top palettes, I did not buy the insert for my blushes. The palette magnet is not very strong because my blush pans slip and slide down. It's the one thing I don't like about the palette. I may just have to buy the insert.

I'm loving all the palette porn - I feel like I need to order a load more pro pan blushes so I can have more than just the 1 blush palette!

I have yet to buy any of these palettes, I still like my old ones I only have 3 shadow palettes and 1 blush one but a lot of things to depot, every time I went to Mac to get a palette for my shadows they were sold out so now I'm like we'll I don't want to have new style and old style so I might just buy new ones and I like the clear view on them. As far as the names of them I like how it looks w out the names as someone mentioned u appreciate it by color not by name lol... I do stick the names back on the magnet but when I do my makeup I never check what I'm wearing I just apply... Besides I kinda memorized the names of the colors so the name doesn't matter to me...

Unless you're needing to know names for clients for special requests, it just doesn't make sense to me. And i really do think people get stuck on names. They tend to wear the same two or three colours together all the time. Without names, you tend to switch it up i think.

I found this on Ebay. Does anyone have these for MAC pans?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251153024785?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

There is a picture there that shows MAC blushes in it. It doesn't look like it's an exact fit and the MAC pans are a tiny bit smaller/taller. I wonder if there is enough room in there to make the bottom of the case magnetic so it's easier to put MAC depots in and out from the larger MAC palettes.

I called MUFE today to order a couple directly. MUFE actually sells them for $3, opposed to this seller that is selling it for $8.50. I had to call a couple stores before finding them though.

I'll let everyone know what it's like when I get it..

Damnit MAC is killing me! I found a barely used old style eyeshadow palette on Poshmark last week and paid $45.50 for it (including 3 barely used eyeshadows) AND last night I gave in and bought the new double palette plus a blush and eyeshadow insert for $43 more dollars. Uuggh, I am not even a MUA! MAC has finally lured me in!
