Illamasqua | Intense Lipgloss Review
Being the ever-curious cosmetic fiend that I am, I set my sights on trying out the new Illamasqua items as soon as I could. I have a HUGE crush on any type of lavender, lilac, purple or magenta lip products, so I decided to pop my Illamasqua cherry with their Intense Lipgloss in Petulant.
First surprise….

My first surprise was that Petulant, which is described as a hot magenta, is not really magenta at all, imo. It is a bright,cherry red-kissed, hot pink. So, whilst it wasn’t the colour I was expecting, it was smashing nonetheless. By the way, when I say this gloss is bright, I mean bright. Petulant, along with all of the Intense Gloss colours offered are really vibrant and amazingly pigmented.
The Illamasqua Intense Gloss is $19.00/.2 fl oz, whereas MAC’s Lipglass is $14/.17 fl oz. The Intense Gloss comes in a long tube with a plastic applicator. You just squeeze to push the product out of the applicator at the top. The applicator system worked fine and I don’t have any complaints there.
The formula is a bit slicker than lipglass and is definitely not as sticky as lipglass when applied to the lips. The Illamasqua Intense Gloss maintains fantastic colour, comfort and wearability. The glossiness is beautiful. The intense shine really highlights in the vivid colours. The scent is so subtle you hardly notice it. I can’t really put my finger on it. Maybe a slight fruit scent?
Bottom Line: I absolutely adore these and plan on trying more. I highly recommend them.

I only have tried one of the Intense Glosses from Illamasqua and I liked it a lot, but the fruity smell of those gets me. Ok, I might be a bit too picky with it, but I always have it under my nose and it’s no good :\

I just received my Sephora order in the mail yesterday and had ordered the Illamasqua Intense Gloss in Indulge (supposed to be a neon pink), and Sheer Lipgloss in Divine (hot pink). I tried the Divine first, and wow, it was amazing! If you just squeeze it on to your lips and spread with your finger, you get a great sheer wash of pink, but it’s also somewhat layerable, so you can get more color if you want it. That smell, to me, is like a slightly fruity bubble gum…almost like a fruit version of Bazooka Joe.
Anyway…the Intense Gloss in Indulge was a GORGEOUS color, but it’s certainly not neon pink. I put it on (well, even just looking at the tube) and it was coral. …seeing as how I ordered a lipstick as well, in Over (matte vibrant coral), I did what any resourceful girl would do…I put Indulge on over Over…and the result was an amazingly beautiful coral lip (goodbye Vegas Volt…it was nice while it lasted) which lasted through smoking, eating, and having a beer. I’m highly impressed, and will be scooping up more of these as money allows. 
I have it in Absorb, and though it is not really a daily wear color(it is a true nude, as if you had glossy foundation on your lips, there is a swatch on my site if you want to peek) I was really impressed with how opaque it was. I do think it’s so think it can have a tendency to collect in the outer corners of the mouth, but once it has done that and I’ve fixed it, the problem doesn’t reoccur. For anyone who is concerned, I have sensitive skin and have had no issues w/ the scent (fruit and vanilla?) As a matter of fact, I love the way the whole line smells! (The foundation smells like cake batter!)
I want to try fierce, the intense lilac colour, but it’s been out of stock! Got an email from Sephora saying it was back in stock but when I checked, it was out of stock again!

I have an Intense gloss in Frenzy. I absolutely love it. It’s a hot pink that’s not too blue based and it’s fab. Sephora’s color description was off on this shade as well if you ask me. Frenzy is not the color I think of when I think of “dark pink.”

It seems that all of the colour descriptions are a bit off, huh? Well, at least we are all happy with the “surprise” colour we got.

I have 3 of the intense ones and I just ordered 4 of the sheer ones. Love these glosses. My favorite is Move.
I wish I could add a swatch of mine but I cannot seem to catch the true color.

i got Fierce a little while ago and iam in love with it, suhc a beautiful colour. the MA artist told me not many ppl are brave enuff 2 get that colour, i cudnt belive it! its amazing, ul love it!
