MAC Hi-Def Cyan Pigment
It’s no secret that i’m a huge fan of bright colours and also MAC Pigments. So i’m sure it comes as no surprise that I am a huge fan of Hi-Def Cyan Pigment from MAC. It’s an extremely bold and bright blue that really grabs some attention. Keep reading to hear more about this Pigment.
I managed to get Hi-Def Cyan when MAC produced Pigments in the old style jars – the chubby and easy to stack jars. However you can still get this Pigment from MAC Pro – either order from the Pro site if you are a member or you can give them a call and order it over the phone. The new jar of Hi-Def Cyan contains 4.5g of product and will set you back £15.50. However in my many years of using Pigments I have only ever used up one jar of Pigment completely so although it seems like a lot to spend the product will last you for years.
Hi-Def Cyan is such a stunning blue shade. It’s a medium sky blue shade and is very bright and eye catching. It is a matte finish Pigment however it isn’t as dusty as some mattes are and is actually very easy to work with. It is pretty opaque when used on bare skin however personally I still like to use a primer before applying the Pigment to make sure that there is no patchiness in the application. You could also use a cream eyeshadow for a base for this Pigment in white to make the blue even brighter.
Of course like all Pigments if you apply Hi-Def Cyan wet you will get the colour to last longer on your lids without any fading or creasing. Personally I like to apply it wet on my lids with some Fix+ and then pat on some of the Pigment dry just to set it. This way Hi-Def Cyan lasts all day (about 10 hours) without fading or creasing.
Because this is such a bright colour I usually wear it in the spring and summer months – usually teamed with purples, greens, teals or yellows to create a tropical look. But you could also wear it with a taupe shadow in the crease for a more toned down look if you’re not comfortable rocking brights just yet.
Overall I am happy to have this Pigment in my collection and I was even happier to find it in a CCO for less than the retail price! If you have Hi-Def Cyan Pigment then let me know what you like to wear it with in the comments below.
