Forum maintenance
I appreciate your patience while the forum is closed! I’m really excited to upgrade the forum software, the latest version brings alot of integrated feature and forum enhancements. It also brings alot of awesome features for the administration aspect of the forums. I’m looking forward to coming back online soon, So rest easy we are in good hands with Rob. 
I’m off to make a cup of Earl Gray, and work on updating forum feature software upgrades. Hopefully these will all go smoothly, sometimes they can be tempermental. If the forum comes back temporarily lacking some of the add on features… you’ll know it wasn’t cooperating with me.

Icon 4 Spokesmodel named! Raquel Welch
MACgirl broke the information we’ve all been speculating about, MAC’s next Icon! Are you ready? None other than the beautiful and talented Raquel Welch! The specifics on the collection are unclear still, but MACgirl did inlcude the following snippet about the collection in her post:
“one of the quads to be called Amazon eyes x4, beauty powders in yogamode and peaceful.”
Along with breaking the next icon, MACgirl also mentioned more upcoming collection information! The following is what she posted:
” we will be coming out with something called paint pots, all i know is they come in a varity of colors.

I adore the holiday traincases MAC puts out, so we will have to watch this one closely. The Tour de Pink traincase from Holiday ’05 has to be one of my favorite collection pieces.

She also mentioned “There are more, I know the lipglass sets have 3 of either a lipglass or lustreglass and 2 of the other in one set. I remember seeing the name Instant Gold in one of them.”
The information is trickling out this year, let’s hope we get more info soon on palettes and shade names.
MAC Trip & a Black Friday release?
Just scouted word on the forum of a very small collection planned for a Black Friday ’06 release. Watch the post if you’re interested in more information on this.
MACgirl gives us the following snippet of information about a release called “MAC Trip”.
“thier is something called MAC trip that consists mostly of palletes, dont know anything about it except that.”
Wonder what this will pan out to be, might be something offered in certain high end department stores?‚ MAC usually releases quite a few palettes around the holidays.

“a super lengthening and volumizing mascara that is WATERPROOF. but it is said not to feel dry or get flakey at all like lots of waterproof mascaras do.
it is also safe for contact users. to remove it, you need to use an oil based eye makeup remover

Hrmm… I’m in the market for a new mascara,¯Â¿Â½ maybe this is just what I am looking for!
Snippet of information on Lip Varnish
lah_knee recieved some of the new Lip Varnishes in her gratis recently and she posted the following description of them:
“… they are VERY opaque and pigmented! maybe slightly more than laquers. and there arent a lot of pearly metallic-y ones. more matte or matte-like colors so they really are like liquid lipstick. and VERY high shine. they smell different than lipglass but come in same tube and have a doe-foot applicator like lipglass. i can imagine a brush one being WAYY too much for something so opaque and glossy.”
She also mentioned something very interesting later in her post:
“also i dont know if chromeglass will replace laquers but i do know they will be re-released along with… creamstick pearl lipliners 
*zips lips before gushing anything else*”
I’m wondering what MAC has in store for us? Creamstick pearl lipliners? Sounds sexy!

Suzy_H on MUA posted an intresting clipping from a magazine feature for Holiday ’06, among other items pictured was a peek at Formal Black! Thanks for the tip Ette!
productjunkie on the forum had this to say about the upcoming MAC bags:
“They are a “crinkle” material in black faux leather. There’s the mini bag, the slim bag and the small bag. They are actually really nice. And of course designed by Mr. Matt Murphy.”
Looking forward to seeing these, I actually really enjoy MAC’s bags. My personal favorite is one from Hollidazzle, which also ranks as one of my favorite overall collections.
Holiday ‘06 mini’s and palette descriptions
We’ve finally got a fix on information from this years holiday collections. marezx on MUA posted the following, Thanks marezx!:
“My favorite MA at NYC Bendel gave me a sneak peek of the holiday palettes/minis today. What we have to look forward to:
4 eye palettes (warm, cool, smoky, sueded)
2 lip palettes (warm, cool)
These palettes have classic black outsides with patterns, but the insides look just like last year’s, i.e. 6 square wells, 3 over 3. Sorry, too many color names to remember, but it seemed many of the eye palettes had new colors.
4 lip sets like last year’s with 2 l/s and 1 l/g (pink, peach, red, tan)
Palettes (Formal Black collection) due out October 19.
3 brush sets (basic, face, eyes)
2 lip/lustreglass mini sets with 3 lipglasses & 2 lustreglasses (warm, cool)
1 lipgelee mini set (Jellicious (I think), Saplicious, Jellybabe, Who’s That Lady)
2 pigment mini sets, 5 vials each (warm, cool)
