MAC | Notable Blush from the Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection
Notable blush from the upcoming Makeup Art Cosmetics collection is pretty unique as far as its comparison to other blushes in the regular MAC line. It is a terrcotta tinged, medium-dark rose. This blush was made for WoC and will especially rock on latina complexions. Us pale (I mean “porcelain”, lol) gals can wear it too, but I recommend a very light hand and applying it with a #187 to ensure a light touch. One thing in your favor is that it builds very gradually with this method; going from a sheer wash to a bold swatch of colour.
I know a good amount of you said you were considering skipping the blushes as there are soooo many eye products in this collection that will be stealing your cash, but take a look at this blush. Notable is, well, notable.

Laura Geller’s Blush – N – Brighten in Pink Grapefruit
This is definitely the same tone as MAC’s Stereo Rose. It is a bit darker though. A light hand could make this one of the closer dupes. It is just a touch less shimmery than Stereo Rose. Pink Grapefruit isn’ the least bit chunky or glittery. It goes on quite smooth. A good dupe choice for med dark to dark complexions.

LORAC’s Baked Matte Satin Blush in Exposed
Shade: Peachy pink

This is a new product from LORAC. It is breathtakingly beautiful. I was totally mesmorized by it at Sephora. The name is a bit confusing as the word “matte” would seem to suggest that it is shimmer-free, but it is just the opposite. It goes in incredibly smooth for a sheen of colour that provides a great glow, as well as nice, natural, buildable colour. A great choice for light to fair complexions. Zero chunky glitter. This new blush comes in two other shades and I plan on picking up both. They are all smashing!

These are intended to be worn alone for a sheen of colour or over other blushes to give that pearly glow. I tend to wear them on their own, because they are just that beautiful. Like the first two products, these are free of chunky glitter. These go on sheer, but build colour very easily.
Apple: This is definitely the lighter of the two and my suggestion for porcelain gals. It is noticeably cooler than Stereo Rose. It is more of a light to medium pink.
Pomegranate: This is your closest match to MAC’s Stereo Rose, in my opinion, but it is a bit more coral. A fantastic warm, coral-tinged rose. Great for medium skin tones.

Review | Stila ‘Mango Crush’ Lip and Cheek Stain – Swatches + Pics
For those of you who have serious crushes on Stila’s Cherry Stain and Pomegranate Stain, there’s a new crush in town…..Mango Crush Lip and Cheek Stain.

This is summer in a tube. The colour somehow manages to be a great compliment to both yellow and pink undertoned-skin. You see red, yellow, orange and pink within Mango Crush. It is a really adaptable colour. Aside from the hot summer colour, the formula contains a subtle shimmer that looks really natural on the lips and helps make the lips look dewy and full, without being over the top. It gives the effect of just-licked lips. If you want to amp up ‘Mango Crush’, add a Stila’s 24 Karat Gold gloss over the top.
This is fantastic on the apples of the cheeks, as well. It gives a great glow from within. A word of caution though. One of the great aspects of this product is its staying powder, however that can go horribly wrong if you slip up whilst applying the blush. You can avoid this by working with small amounts of the stain and gradually building the colour. Start applying it at the center of the apple of your cheek, then work it out in a circular motion. You can also practice applying it to the back of your hand first to see how it performs.
The Mango Crush Lip and Cheek stain have the same tube and brush applicator that Cherry and Pomegranate have. Just give the tube a twist and colour will push up into the brush.
Some of the health benes? Mango Crush contains genuine extracts of its namesake fruit. The long lasting formula is high in anti-oxidants and formulated with Vitamin A, C & E to protect skin while adding moisture. Does that mean I can count it as one of my required daily servings of fruits and veggies? No? Not so much?
