Re: MAC Pro New Neon Pigments

I actually think I might get some use out of this neon magenta color than my fuchsia p/m. lol I don't like the Fuchsia p/m that much.

Yes! It does looks a bit more purple though and I guess it is cause it's called violet? And that yellow with Primary Yellow please.

I'm also curious how those orangey colors compare to Dusty Coral and the Orange matte pigments. They look different but one of them reminds me of SOMETHING but I can't pinpoint it. Thanks with whatever swatches you bring back though!! =)

I'm the same way. I cant call myself to use a non-eyesafe pigment at all. I've never had a reaction, but because the doc had to up my lens prescription stronger I always have this fear of blindness. I brought 3d sliver glitter and I have never even touched it because I'm scared it will get into my cornea and scratch it. I'm a wimp

ladies, before you guys go out to get the green and hurt your eyes again, she said NONE of them are eye safe, green is not safe for either eyes or lips

it's hard to read it correctly with all the excitment, i had to read it like 5 times before i got it right

Thank you, I misread. I thought that the green was non-lip safe only. I am relieved I can pass on these. My wallet deserves a break!

here's my super-duper long list (as if my list on the 1st page wasn't long enough already) i don't think you'll be able to find all of them in the pro store, i'm just being greedy. the ones in the brackets don't belong to the regular pro line

orange: neo-orange vs. genuine orange/acid orange/organge eyeshadow (MUFE star powder 952)

purple: full force violet vs. marine ultra/viole/cornflower/Atlantic Blue eyeshadow (royal blue)

green: green space vs. emerald green/landscape green/bio-green eyeshadow (original green pigment)

pink: red electric vs. electric coral/dusty coral/cool pink (pink vivid)

magenta: magenta madness vs. bright fuschia/Post Haste eyeshadow (MUFE star powder 951)

yellow: rock-it yellow vs. primary yellow/ ChromeYellow eyeshadow/Bright Sunshine eyeshadow

love you forever if you could swatch any of them for us

Re: MAC Pro New Neon Pigments

Ok ladies, went to the store. Picked them all up and swatched them with comparisons. To be quite honest, none of them look like any of the pigments pro or regular. These neons are completely unique.

Uploading swatches now Will post more when I am done with the swatches

My thoughts exactly!! Even tho most people will prob just go ahead and use them on eyes, where does MAC expect you to use them if they say eyes are a no go??!! Seriously?! Especially the yellow!?? Are we painting or something?

Re: MAC Pro New Neon Pigments

I actually addressed this with the ma working at the store.

These unfortunately are not eye safe for your standard consumer. For the makeup professional however these are great as the product in general is pure unadulterated color. The ma said if you don't have adverse reactions to a particular intense eyeshadow color (like red) then you should be ok with the neon pigment. Of course be careful when applying and for heavens sake if you have sensitive skin don't go neon happy!

On to comparisons. A lot of you asked and I delivered. I even had a look at the jars and compared them to the other pigments (not on the list) Nothing comes close to these neons. The only slight similarity I saw was between marine ultra and the violet. Both in the blue family but marine has green undertones whereas the violet has purple undertones. Primary yellow is similar to the rock it yellow only slightly. Primary is more of a mustard green whereas rock it is more canary. Swatches will be up in a moment!

All the others didn't come close. A huge reason is texture. For example, electric coral is a metallic whereas the neo-orange is matte etc.

Re: MAC Pro New Neon Pigments

I use non-eye safe pigments all the time, just not on the waterline I find all pigments hurt like hell when used on the waterline.

I've falling in love with the pink orange and magenta.

Re: MAC Pro New Neon Pigments

heres a few from me as well

all of mine are done with a flash, and as can be seen the pigments are within the jar.. I went though the thread and tried to get everybodys requests filled as best as I could

if you need them on skin I can do that later tonight or tomorrow.. and here we go.

(I hope they are ok to put in here) and that they arent to big

Re: MAC Pro New Neon Pigments

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, why do they make such gorgeous pigments that you can't use on your eyes or lips? (except for the green one I believe) What is the point of them? For what else could I possible use it? Wellllllll, I have an idea! But nobody is going to see it since I'm not going to be walking around butt naked with the flower on my behind drawn with this wonderful neon pigments. :-)

Well said. Obviously proceed at your own risk, but you can do a few things to be safer. Do a patch test, wear a good base under the pigment and keep it out of the eye and waterline area. I plan on using them on my eyes.

Because the are marked as "Not eye safe" does not necessarily mean that. It just means that they haven't been tested for such.

I'm wearing these on my eyes right now, and so far they are fine. I'm just using a lot of bases in-between these and my eye and not using them on my water line. so far so good, as I have used other pigments (metals and other mattes) that are not eye safe before on my eyes. I'm not to overly worried about it, however on the off chance I do have any reaction I'll post about that as well and let you all know.

I don't know if they are out though that number just yet, I know I called the pro store up in LA to get the one that my store didn't have in stock yet and I was told there that they weren't selling these pigments for another 3 weeks.

as of right now it seems as though the pro store in southern cali (south coast plaza) and NY are the stores that have them out at the moment.

so you could try ordering them directly from the stores

They should ship it anywhere. I have never had any problems with LA or NYC sending shipments to me in various states. They will charge you shipping though. I think they charge people $5-$7.
