Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I am really really debating if I should get petticoat before I test it in person. i got Light Flush before and I don't love it since it really doesn't show up on me but peachy color sheen. I only use it as highlighter and it is not the best highlighter(I have my HG Shimmpagne). Petticoat looks pretty but I wonder if it is dark enough for me to use it as blush (I'm NC35-40). What do you think?

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

prices are getting expensive in Canada I bought Petticoat and two dazzleglasses and it was 84 DOLLARS!?!?! ouch my wallet hurts~!!!

edit: it was actually 80.64... but still!!!!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

$84?!?! It would be $60 in the U.S. I'm glad I don't live in Canada. Geeeez.

Thanks for the info about Hef and the girls, too! It's sad... it won't be the same without them, but I guess at some point you just have to move on. The girls got plenty of fame, and they will always be known as The Girl's Next Door to me. There is no replacement for them. Ah well!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

hmm

I got mine in the mail today- i got the 181-- which.. is REALLY SMALL.. i mean.. REALLY SMALL.. like the size of my thumb in length... i was really suprised. for $30.00 i didnt excpect it to be so little.....

I do like it though-- it applied my devil blush today REALLY REALLY well.

Sheerbronze- Its... not sheer. JUST BRONZE. EXTREAMLY bronze. I didnt think it was going to be so dark-- and its nooooot a lot of product AT ALL... over all I was a little dissapointed with the sizes for $50.00 all together...

I do like it as a product though- im going to have to wait until im a little tanner to use it on a regular basis.. but it will be a GORGEOUS highlighter for those of us who are darker! Im considering getting Silver Aura because I think that will be GORGEOUS for the color I am right now...

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

It was the only other product that caught my eyes beasides Petticoat and they're the only two I got.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

So, I have a $25 gift card to Macy's and 15% coupon from Saks. I am ready to haul this weekend.

I'm getting So Ceylon, Petticoat and either Heat/Element or Engaging. I will try to resist getting any more.

That's mostly why I haven't bought it yet, because it seems so small.

I think it is more that I want to have every MSF and not because I would ever use it.
Dude, get So Ceylon! On the hand, it was meh, but I bought it anyway. Then I brought it home and put some on my lighter than NW15 cheeks and really liked it! The rosiness of it works well with my pink undertones, unlike the wretched Warmed people compare it to. It will be something I abuse in the summer as a blush, for sure, as it gives a lovely warmth to my face.

I love Lucent as a highlighter over my blush! I got Beauty Powder Loose in Natural Flare last December and Lucent is a great alternative for me

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I have seen the many many swatches for Petticoat.. and I'm convinced I want one ... BUT I want to know how it looks on nw45/nw50 skin complexions before I purchase it. And also.. I think I want So Ceylon or Lucent... any suggestions?

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Holy Crap! So Ceylon is BEAUTIFUL on my NC42/NW40 skin. It really gives me this natural glow. I like it better than Sunbasque, which can make me look sunburned at times. haha.
I also checked out Petticoat. It's so beautiful in the pan, but on my skin it just looks like a darker version of Light Flush (metallic and pink). As much as I wanted it, I passed.
Soft & Gentle looks like a great highlighter, but I passed since it's permanent. It on my hand it looked like a very pretty champagne color.

Haha, like the So Ceylon I so wasn't supposed to buy! But that'll be it, since Soft and Gentle will be perm. I like it much more than Shimpagne but I am afraid it'll turn my large pores into craters too.

I tried out a simple look today with SC on the lids and cheeks and really liked how it gave a rosy fall look, if that makes any sense. =P I'm frowning at my Shooting Star now and wondering why it's in my collection.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I checked out So Ceylon today. It's different than the one I got from High Tea. This one sparkles alot. It's not frosty but has a soft sparkle and my other one is more of a satin finish.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Ha! Got my Petticoat. It is soooo pretty. I love how it just gives my cheeks a rosey glow to them .

And I tried Rougemarie nail polish and I really like it but I've learned I HATE MAC nail polish's so I might have to see if I can find another brand with the same kind of color.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I can't decide which MSF to get! I want all 3 but can't justify spending almost £50 at the moment!!

It's driving me crazy!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Thanks for the advice- I think I will get petticoat as that is more likely to sell out...then I might treat myself to the others on payday next Friday

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Grrrrrr!
I just sent my OH to my local store (on his break at work) to pick up Petticoat.
The SA said she had never heard of it! THEN after about twenty minutes of looking she finally said 'oh yeah, we had it but it's sold out' !!

It makes me so mad that SA's do not know about new collections it amazes me how they get jobs!

Rant over.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I got Soft & Gentle today and I it! According to the MA, Gold Deposit will come next week, but not So Ceylon. So we are not getting Petticoat and So Ceylon. I put up pics of my Soft & Gentle at the swatch thread. I'm awaiting to see Gold Deposit because after seeing Soft & Gentle, I'm convinced that these MSFs sure are pretty.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I looked up the word Ceylon because I wasn't sure what it meant -- it's an island in the Indian Ocean, south of India.

haha
