Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I freaking LOVE Petticoat!!! I had to get a backup of it, it is just SEX!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Is it weird that Petticoat looks bronzy on me? Mine has a lot of veining. The small no-veined part swatches as a really lovely raspberry pink. But the majority of it swatches as a dark pink with heavy bronze undertones. It makes it ruddy almost on my very cool skin. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I got Petticoat yesterday and now I know what everyone was raving about it for! It is truly beautiful, and Soft & Gentle seemed a little almost cakey shimmery to me...don't know how to describe it, but it doesn't look like an inward glow lol. But get petticoat, if you're still debating, because it is well worth it.

On another note, am I the only one who was disappointed in the sheersheen things? They're so small, like the size of the medium bare mineral jars (the ones that come in the introductory kit). I thought they'd be bigger, and I wasn't impressed with the product either; seemed a little chalky also.

I love petticoat though!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Ok sort of a dumb question, but Soft & Gentle is my first MSF.. Do you just put this on your cheeks or is it for an all-over glow sorta look? I know you obviously wouldn't use Petticoat all over because it's more of a blush but what about the more neutral ones?

It depends on where you want to glow...most people would probably put it just on their cheeks because you don't want to look greasy, right? Depending on the color, it may look o.k. on the nose or forehead, but I personally stick to the cheek area with these. Try it out and see how you like it, there really aren't a lot of rules to this product. HTH! Enjoy your 1st MSF!

I use Lightscapade that way--buffed along my cheek bone, apples of the cheeks, a bit on the forehead, nose and chin.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

So, I bought Petticoat, So Ceylon and Heat/Element today. Petticoat is gorgeous! I can't wait to try So Ceylon (the counter at Saks was insane so I bought without trying).

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

All right so i bought all three of the MSFS and they are all friggin gorgeous! Love Petticoat, of course. I'm actually surprised by how much I love So Ceylon! I'm NC25 and I thought it would be too dark on me but it gives me a beautiful glow. I think it's my fave of the three.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

So Ceylon is a great bronzer highlighter and totally rocks when used with petticoat!

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

Thanks for all the suggestion on how to use these. I'm going to try out my Soft and Gentle tomorrow morning. I hope I don't make my face look oily.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

I ordered So Ceylon this morning, hoping it really does have some rosy undertones as every bronzey product I try just goes straight orange on me.

Here's hoping it works for you! I was really pleasantly surprised by it.

Re: MAC - Sheer Minerals Discussion

My SO Ceylon looks bronzy rose on me. It's pretty, even though I think Petticoat is prettier to look at in the case; mine has gorgeous veining.

I'm really impressed with both of them. The only MSF I have is Northern Lights, and while I like it overall, I don't like the huge chunks of glitter from it. So Ceylon and Petticoat don't appear to have that issue, which is awesome

It's the old name for Sri Lanka, famous for it's Ceylon tea.
