Wow, the mystery powder compacts must be HUGE! Assuming that the refills are the same size as always (I have no reason to suspect otherwise) the compact would have a diameter of 3.5 - 4 inches!

usually, im excited about the couture collections, but after seeing the product images on the site and looking at the swatches, i think if i do want anything at all from this collection, i can wait till it hits the outlets. plus i dont plan on getting anything from dame edna. so that means i can actually afford to pay my bills and possibly save up some money for the bbr collection and also hk.

Okay, Dear MAC, why on earth are there three brushes in that initial pic but only two in the collection? I was hoping for a lip brush to boot. Oh well . . . I'm going to be spending so much on this collection I guess missing a brush isn't too bad.

That's nothing! Last year's Stylistics promo photo clearly pictured the 227 brush when the color story and description said it was the 224 brush. It was the 224 brush sold; not the 227. And I, too, was hoping for another lip brush.

Since they never loaded all the products online today, I went on ahead and ordered a LG, Reflects purple duo and gilded ash Metal X.

I was planning on a Mystery Powder but I still have the two compacts from the past two Coutures with one full refill left each. Maybe I should get a Sheerspark instead to save money. I want at least one piece from this collection but I don't want a lip product. Hmmmmm.

I really like the look of this collection. It's such an improvement on last years hot pearly mess. I'd love to get:

- Sheer Mystery Powder (But should I get the Hello Kitty one instead....? Decisions, decisions)
- Posh Life Lipgloss
- Old English or Commemorate Sheerspark Powder

Get a Sheerspark Pressed Powder! I will get one as well like I did last year from Stylistics. I also want one powder packaging from this collection, but will save my money for the Mystery Powder from HK Coutoure

Why are there only 3 lipstick colors on the US website when the promo image shows 4? And it is the one I really wanted 'Status Symbol'!! ARGH!

Hmm and they also dropped a lipglass from the original color story too...maybe MAC got word that we weren't in love with the line and cut back on a few items.

I think the promo pic is gorgeous too! This is the first time I see MAC's couture collection, and I'm curious. I'm pleasantly surprised to read that it will be available here. I look forward to seeing them IRL, but I doubt I'll get anything. The compact powders look pretty to me except for the logo.

What is the difference between Sheerspark Pressed Powder and Sheer Mystery Powder? Why is the Myster Powder so much more expensive?

We're all a little MAC-psycho on here though.

I don't know what I want to be honest with you. I need to see it in person. My initial interests are below, but I know the final list will be smaller:
  • Posh Life LG – Mid-tone bright pink with gold pearlized pigments (frost)
  • Flourish LS - Frosty mid-tone red (frost)
  • All Mine LS - Creamy mid-tone blue pink (frost)
  • Marque LS - Soft light neutral pink (frost)
  • Old English SS Powder – Frosted light bronze with gold pearlized pigments
  • Light Medium Mystery Powder – Pale Ivory

On a general note:

I like the 129 brush, but don't want to spend the money on it, I have plenty of Aire d'Style left from the last collection (wish they would have come up with a new scent), and, IMO, that clutch is destined for a CCO near you someday soon.

To be honest, I am a bit surprised at how similar this MAC Couture collection is like the ones in the past. I mean, those didn't inspire mass frenzy, major love and they didn't sell out that quickly, so why keep doing it? At this point, it's just the same products over and over in a pretty package. Who is dying for more Sheersparks, btw? I'm guessing not many. I think that next year's couture collection could kick up some serious buzz if they shook up the products a bit and surprised us. Couture needs some CPR.

Mystery Powder is an all over face powder, whereas Sheersparks are a multi-purpose product which can be used for blush, to highlight or shimmer on the body.

Susanne,

My guess as to why the big difference in price between HK's and Monogram's Mystery Powder is the detail on the compact. The HK MP package is more detailed and it's swarovski crystals are a more expensive ornamentation than Monogram's enamel covering.

Thank you! I agree, I use my Sheerspark from Stylistics as a blush or as a highlighter most times.

I am really looking forward to see the HK Mystery compact for the first time
