Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I love using white as a base, but I noticed frosty shadows don't adhere as well. Anyone else having this issue? Mattes (my faves!!) however stick like glue!

I haven't had that issue, and I've even used lustres over these.

^^^ that's good to hear.. even though I don't know exactly which ones are Lusters! lol. Blue Calm (pro) wouldn't stick. I'll have to look up the finish on that one sometime, then try it again

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

The white one sounds like a must have!
So you can use it on your waterline, will it make a good base for eye pencils?

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I used the chromalines as liner in my valentines day fotd. Black on the top to line and white on the waterline and they worked wonderfully!

No smudging at all and with nothing else on top.

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I really want to get the purple one to use as an eyeshadow base... I know it's not technically eye-safe but if I'm using it as a base (over UDPP) it shouldn't be too big a deal, right? It's not getting IN my eye. At least, that's the logic I'm going with! I'm just wondering. I need a good purple base to help my purple shadows pop.

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I thought it wasnt safe to use on the waterlines? I know in makeup there isnt any rules except for when it comes to ingredients making u break out and all but i remember when they came out i went and got the white, the green, and the red. ive been holding off on the yellow online for a minute now becuz im not going anywhere with yellow that bright any time soon but i can agree with those in love with the white. it is something else.

They make amazing bases. I am wearing White right now underneath Gesso, Bitter and Electric Eel. The colour is soooo smooth and vibrant.

Could you give a clue as to placement? I have all three of those and that combo sounds lovely

Sure thing! I used Gesso on the innder 1/2 of the lid, Bitter on the outer half, blended inwards, then Electric Eel in the crease and along the lower lashline. I also lined my upper lid with Blacktrack and my lower waterline with a black liner.

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I love using both the white and yellow chromalines on the inner corners of the upper lid and lower lid for a bright pop on many of my looks

Also, white is awesome to use on the lower waterline to make eyes pop

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I just bought a Chromaline pot in Pure White, and I love how well it works as an eyeshadow base. It makes colours more vibrant and long-lasting in their vibrance, even the colours that fade easily otherwise.

Also, what with it being lip-safe, I tried using it as a base under Blast O' Blue and Orchidazzle lipsticks, and it is perfect. With Orchidazzle, it creates the perfect cool-toned lavender lip that I couldn't get from either Fashion Mews or Lavender Whip. (As for Blast O' Blue...well, that pseudo-frostbitten look only works well with costumes.)

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I wanted to bump this thread. Someone who shall remain nameless (*cough* KARIN *cough*) has got me all intrigued by the chromalines. I was able to find Pure White and Landscape Green in a sale here. Next weekend, I am headed to the PRO store and want to pick up a few more. I am thinking Rich Purple, Hi Def Cyan and Marine Ultra.

Does anyone know for certain if Hi Def Cyan and Process Magenta are eyesafe? I know that some of the others aren't, but am curious about those.

So, who loves these? What are your favorites? How do you wear them? What brush do you use to apply them?

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

I love these I have the black and wear as eyeliner and it stays put all day. I use the 210.

sadly blacktrack has been trampled on by black black. i use black black every day as my liner. i use it the same as i did with blacktrack, with the 266.

I'm curious about those too! They would look so fierce used as a liner, but I don't want to use anything on my eyes that is not safe or meant to use there. I remember Tish said the Marine, Black and White are eyesafe from the old ones. It just now occured me if the pro paint sticks I'm about to use as bases (pure white and primary yellow) are not safe for eyes? Does anyone know about those? If they are not I should get the white chromaline.

Re: MAC Pro - Chromaline Discussion

Well, I've used both Hi-Def Cyan and Process Magenta on my eyes without any problems. Doesn't mean that they are eye-safe, but I'll wear anything on my eyes, as long as it doesn't irritate them. I've used HDC, PM, Landscape Green, Rich Purple, Pure White, and Black Black on my eyes with no problems. But I wouldn't put them on my waterline (except White and Black), since I think Pink Basset is correct, of the original line only PW, BB & Marine Blue are eye-safe.
