Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

I am on a search to find a powder foundation to give me that airbrushed look. Is it possible? I'm very new to foundations so I don't know too much about what is out there. I'm allergic to MAC foundation powders, I know that! .

Buuuuuuuut anyways, I'm up to try ANY powder foundation that will help give that airbrushed look! And maybe something that helps with oil. I have semi oily skin, not too bad though. Thanks!

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

I've heard really good things about Bare Minerals powder foundation, but I use Merle Norman Pure Mineral Makeup. I find it comparable, and it's over twice the size of BM, but it's only $10 more! I've also used Studio Fix powder from MAC, and I liked that. It's been awhile since I've used it though, so I can't give an accurate review.

I was thinking of trying the pure mineral makeup. I tried BM and I thought it sucked. It was alright but the color match up was difficult for me to get without looking like a ghost. It also made my skin itchy like MAC!

I use the kabuki from BM to put it on because I think the brush does a good job. I have no problems wearing it alone if I don't want to mess with foundation.

Here's the products I've found that work the best for me. It's all about finding the right products though, and it took me awhile. I'm an NC15, so I'm hard to match without foundation or powder being too yellow or too dark.

Nars Oil Free Foundation in Mont Blanc
MN Pure Mineral Makeup
MUFE HD Powder - TOTALLY worth the price. It sets my face and gives the complete look.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation is nice, because you can wear it dry for good skin days and wet for not so good skin days.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

I LOVED my Clarins powder foundation. I applied w/ the 180 buffer and was flawless. BM made me itch too and Studio Fix broke me out.

I've recently moved on to the MUFE HD liquid foundation for no real reason, other than to try it.

How has the liquid been working for you? I've always wanted to try liquid to get better coverage around my red areas, etc but I'm always afraid of it clogging my skin.

another vote for stila ipf! physician's formula mineral wear is a nice, affordable mineral powder foundation if you don't want to throw down the money for bare minerals.

I recently switched to liquid foundation and I haven't had any problems. I started using NARS Oil Free Foundation. I wanted to use MUFE, but they didn't have a color light enough or not yellow enough for my skin tone.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

I find that using a primer helps, I am currently using MUFE HD foundation as well as the powder and I find it gives me that airbrushed look.
You could also try Cargo blu ray powder, or MSF Natural. Both of these powder foundation have given me that airbrushed look as well.
I hope that was helpful

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

MACs Studio Fix is a HG for me. I adore it. Urban Decay's Surreal Skin is pretty marvelous as well.

As of a liquid foundation, Revlon's Soft Flex is seriously bitchin. Never used anything better.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

MUFE's duo mat is the fullest coverage powder foundation I've ever used and if you buff it enough afterwards you can get a flawless face.

Clinique also has a good one too but the colours aren't that great.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

Don't forget to use the 182 brush no matter which foundation powder you choose. IMO that brush blends like no other

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

I also like Stila's Illum. Powder Foundation (I use it wet with my 187 or 182). I also really like mineral foundations (another vote for Urban Decay's Surreal Skin), and Silk Naturals is awesome too but it's only available online. Too bad I found out my skin is sensitive to mineral makeup otherwise it'd be my HG.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

As mentioned I find that using a brush to apply gives a better finish than a puff or sponge.

Re: Airbrushed look with powder foundation?

I adore Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers SPF 20 Powder Foundation. I apply it with my 187.
