are you setting it with powder? you have to set the concealer under the eyes to prevent creasing. i use it only under my eyes and layer it with my MSFN (i don't wear foundation, just the MSFN) and it doesn't crease one bit.

it certainly does rock, but it sucks that it isnt perm in NZ (yet). i will have to get a back up. no touch ups, or attack of the oilies all day!
how does the invisible pro set powder weigh up against it erine?

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

I really need to get this powder at some point. It's been on my wishlist since this collection came out and I still didn't get chance to buy it!

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

I don't really know why but i prefer the MUFE HD powder over the new MAC transparent powder...

I still haven't got the chance to order the foundation! Also for the concealer, I don't know which shade to get since I'm a NW47.

I like the 217 but for smaller spots the 194 or 195 work great!

I use the 242. I think it's a pretty good overall brush (because you could also clean the brush and use it for your eyeshadows too )

Do you set it with powder? I always set mine with a MSF Natural.

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

Yep, like Yushimi said, be sure and set it with powder. I love the MSF Natural for this! Blot powder is good and a lot of people really liek the new finishing powder that just came out.

I think it's best you get samples of different shades and try them out before you get a full size of either foundation or concealer. I personally had to go a shade lighter for the foundation (I normally wear NW30, but for SS I was matched best for NW25)

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

^Ok, I'll get a sample of the SS foundation whenever I go to the MAC store soon, hopefully that I'll get to go on Mother's Day.

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

I don't know why but I purchased this foundation again and I have to say that it is working MUCH better for me the second time around. I have had no breakouts after two weeks of wearing it. It is the best color match that I have ever found in a MAC foundation. SFF always seems too dark but the NW15 in Studio Sculpt works perfectly.

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

It's going to be Perm in NZ soon! The MAC MA's at the Welly counter were super excited.

They were completely sold out and wont have any more arriving for about a month but the MA kindly gave me a sample. If I love it then I'll need to hunt it down!

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

Has anyone tried using the #109 to apply SSF?? fafinette3x on YouTube uses this brush, and I was curious if anyone else has tried it before I go out and by one!

I've tried using the #187 but it's not giving me enough coverage and I think because SSF is a gel it's not blending out that well...

i used my 109 to apply it - it works great with it! you need a brush that will really work the foundation into the skin

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

I LOVE this foundation! I use NW20 in the 'center' of my face (the triangle formed by my eyes/chin) and NW25 on the outside of that triangle (blending, of course ) and am very pleased with the results. I use the 191 brush to get into the little areas around my nose. I also have some hyper-pigmentation that I can almost completely cover with the NW25. I use a combo of NW20/NW25/NC25 SS concealer depending on my skin's coloration issues on any given day, but these products are the bomb! I'm extremely picky about foundation and until now haven't been able to find one that doesn't creep into my pores or look like I'm too covered. This one is buildable and has staying power, and a little goes a very long way!

Same thing for me except in NC15. SFF in NC15 is too dark.

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

Shypo, thanks for the idea to use a darker shade on the outer areas... esp since I am getting tanner now that summer is coming! How do you apply it with the 191?

Lolly, I have been using a 187 but ONLY the stipple method... I honestly did not like this foundation and was going to return it until I saw Enkore's YouTube video about stippling and gave it a try. I had the small 187 from the holiday collection at that point and then I immediately went and bought a big one because I loved it so much.

After you stipple the SSF on, you have to set it though. And the MSF natural is the best for that I think.

Re: MAC - Well Defined (Studio Sculpt) Discussion

I forgot to add the link to the YouTube video that I found:

YouTube - Do you Stipple, then Swirl?

Enkore is the best I have found his videos SOOOO helpful.

Hi Chickatthegym - I squeeze a bit of each of the 2 colors on the back of my left hand and load the lower end of the bristles, and working from the outside in, with shorter strokes at first, and then I sort of 'tap' it into areas like around my nostrils and between my eyebrows. Then I use somewhat longer strokes along my jawline to blend it all. I top it off with the new finishing powder or Bare Escentuals Feather Light Mineral Veil, and then I go over it with the big MAC buki brush (I don't know the number at the moment). I then apply my blush, and go back over the whole thing with the buki to blend it all in, using a bit of pressure on my nose and chin. Voila!

I hope I've answered your question?

Erine:

something off topic...

How do you apply the MSFN all over the face? #182?
I'm a NC20 in Select SPF15 Foundation (sometimes a NC25, when I'm tanned). Which MSFN shade would you recommend? I'm looking at using it as a "foundation" by buffing it in with a #182. Do you think it'd work?

TIA!
