So long story short I got both powders and both trios. Merry early Christmas to me! I can't wait to play and post some swatches.
Naughty, naughty mother. Tsk tsk.

They are beautiful facecharts, but stuff is definitely dupeable.

The trios have shadows with really crappy textures. Kanga-rouge is a very average, non exciting midtone blue-based red. The lipglosses, well... the only one I really want is the one you don't have listed!

Re: MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

After looking at this for hours, I've decided the only 2 products that I would really, really be interested in are Splendid and Hot Frost l/g. I still can't afford to buy them, but I think they are beautiful. I will be searching for BNIB of these in a few months in the clearance bin......

This cllection does remind me of Heatherette a lot interms of the packaging of the trios, beauty powders and also the same format of products are being released (beauty powders). It should've been released as a heatherette anniversary collection

After being amped up for Heatherette, I got nothing from it. Same went for Fafi, and a few other collections this year. Relatively speaking I haven't purchased very much at all. No holiday, metal x, or Chill either. Maybe I felt like I deserved to finally splurge on something I was truly excited about(is that what you call justification, lol). Now I think I'll be good until Hello Kitty....maybe.

Am I the only one who is excited about Dame Edna??

Dame Edna comes out on Friday 12/26... I cant wait! Ive been wanting it so BAD!!!! Yey!!!!

This goes for me as well. The colors in this collection remind me a LOT of the ones from Heatherette! It's almost like a second chance for those that missed out on Heatherette!

Re: MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

I think I'm only going to get the pink l/s, the pink l/g and the pink powder. I see a theme here...

I love the look of Splendid and Possum Nose Pink, but I don't think I get on with orange/coral colours. I can't get Shine Manish l/g to work for love nor money, so I don't want to spend what little MAC money I have on colours I can't wear. Unless they're nothing like Shine Manish... then I have a problem
post #562 of 1185

Re: MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

Well, I ended up only getting Splendid & Possum Nose Pink. Yay me for having a little bit of self-control and passing on the Wisteria trio!! That blue is truly calling me name since I don't think I have anything like it, but I think I'll live. Anyone know of a shadow to dupe it with? Any brand really...

Re: MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

ummmm why is the pro discount not available for this collection?

Re: MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

I don't know, I bought the two trio's but I tried duping some of the colors anyhow, cuz I'm impatient like that and need to practice that sort of thing.

I ended up doing the "Splendid" Eye look, except using the Holiday Cool Palate (for the purple and blue) and my Smoke and Ash Suite Array duo. I think it turned out pretty decent. (And i had vanilla so at least I didn't have to come up with a dupe for that.

That said I'll try again when the actual trio's get here. LOL but need to practice my 2009 resolutions soon. Getting spending under control.. Yikes.

Re: MAC Cosmetics Dame Edna Discussion Part II

Okay, got mine in today. First off, very underwhelmed by the eyeshadows. VERY dupable! The powders are pretty, and very light. The lippies.....oh the lippies!!!! Gladiola looks, to me, more purple than pink. Kinda like a purple-pinky color, but still pretty! Kanga rouge is a pretty red, definitely worth a look at if you like reds! Coral Polyp actually turned out to be my fave! Wasn't expecting that. It's not as bright as it comes out in pictures. If it IS too bright for your taste, it can easily be toned down with a gloss. Speaking of gloss.......these glosses are GORGEOUS!!! Seriously, I'm probably going to buy backups of splendid and possum nose. Possum nose looks more on the red side, but a very pretty color. Splendid looks very pigmented, and seems like it would be great for every skin tone. Hot frost is a little darker than Starlet Kiss from the Heatherette collection, but it's still a very pretty medium pink! Out of everything, the lippies are the stars of this collection!
