Erine - earlier in the thread you said the lipglasses are better suited for darker skin tones. Would it be impossible for an NC20 to wear Queen Bee, do you think?

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

Thanks Jess for the great review and thank you erine for all of the great comparison swatches!

All of the lipglasses look so unique. Queen Bee looks so gorgeous that I think I will have to get it. I wasn't really excited for the scents until Jessica raved about the Naked Honey perfume. Can't wait to smell that and the body products!

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

I have never bought a MAC perfume but now I'm lemming naked honey lol Do the MAC scents linger well? I usually wear Chanel Chance because I like that it sticks.

my list so far is just:
buckwheat e/s
queen bee l/g

maybe:
pollinator e/s
buzz l/g
naked honey perfume

I need to see a few more swatches I think!

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

Panther, thanks for the review! I'm a little disappointed to hear that the darker highlight powder is more matte underneath the overspray, because I was looking forward to that. But oh well! Maybe I'll have to check out the Naked Honey fragrance instead!

The lipglasses, perfume, salves, and highlight powder are calling me now. Wallet isn't happy, yikes!

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

now I'm tempted by the highlight powder as well :/ I wonder which one is best on NW30 skin...

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

Ahem, so you all want my review right?

Overall I think this was a very manageable collection (ie not too big). The colors were very earthy, and the skincare products were solid, but not exceptional (save the salve)

Items I purchased (3 total) are bolded

Lipglass

She’s a Star - Light beigey gold. Nothing remarkable
Queen Bee - A little bit pink, a little bit coral. This one is actually very pretty for summer. I imagine it would look really cool with Lollipop Loving
Buzz - Dark Copper brown with flecks of red and orange. The color ends up being almost burnt sienna with sparkles. Very pretty

Eyeshadows

Crème de Miel - A frosty yellow/gold. This reminds me of Femme Fi but with stronger gold tones. The texture is everything we know and love about veluxe pearls.
Pollinator - A peachy coral. This one is very similar to Paradisco, except Pollinator has more coral/orange tones whereas paradisco has strong pink tones.
Buckwheat - A dark brown with subtle gold sparkle. This one reminds me a lot of Nars Galapagos, but with less obvious gold sparkle than Galapagos.

High-Light Powder

Honey Light - Described as a light peach, but I got a bit of a light yellowy gold with slight peach tones. I think this will best be suited for medium to darker skintones as a highlighting shade. There is still a slight shimmer under the overspray.

Golden Nectar - A bronzey brown/gold. On my nw15/20 self it made a great bronzer. Not too dark or muddy, with just the right amount of warmth to make it work well. Again, like with the Honey Light there is a slight shimmer in the powder under the overspray. Very soft and pretty.

Naked Honey Salve This is going to be the star of the skincare collection. The scent is very beachy to me. Sweet with a hint of honey, but there is something else in there that just screams coconut, tanning oil, and flowers. An interesting combo that is pretty pleasant. As for the texture, it is a bit hard in the tin, and needs to be warmed with the hands. It is heavy moisture, and I am sure many will flock to it!

Naked Honey Hand and Body Cream - This one was super thick and creamy. I honestly didn't get that strong of a scent from it, just a hint of honey and something slightly floral. I would have picked this up, if I didn't have a million other creams already!

Naked Honey Body Wash- Another variation on the naked honey scent. Just lighter. Nothing spectacular

Creations Fragrance: Naked Honey So I sniffed and sniffed trying to think what this one reminded me of. I had my eureka moment and it hit me, this smells just like Marc Jacobs Daisy, but with a hint of sweetness from the honey. It is actually a very young scent, a bit strong. I like it but have myself covered since I own Daisy.

Creations Fragrance: Africanimal- This one was all spicy musk. Not a scent I am fond of unfortunately

And there you have it, my thoughts on Naked Honey!

Did I say that? I don't remember, but if I did I was either mistaken or thinking about different colors. I apologize. An nc20 can most definately wear queen bee. That's the only gloss I getting. Its gorgeous! She's a star is far too light for my liking, and buzz is too dark (it would be pretty for light skin in the fall tho), but darker skin can rock it anytime!

Sorry for the confusion

I had Naked Honey on,and it lasted for the rest of the day!I'm not sure about other MAC perfumes however.

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

The only thing I want is the honey fragrance but if it really smells like Daisy, I will skip it. Hmm, it seems as if I am waiting so long for a MAC collection to come one. Probably because I skipped Style Warriors and now prolly Naked Honey as well, unless that perfume really does smell delicious.

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

The dry down of naked honey now that I am sniffing it on my arm is a little bit less daisy and a lot more honey. HTH!

Re: MAC - Naked Honey Discussion

Got me some Naked Honey today! Thought I would share my thoughts on the collection. I was trying to stick with my wishlist only so I didn't really check out any of the products I wasn't interested in (it kinda worked, sorta). Anyways, here goes Part I:

Eyeshadows
Creme de Miel - I recently picked up Soft Force so I wasn't sure if I needed this one. When I swatched them side by side, they looked pretty similar with Creme de Miel being a tad bit more on the gold side. Texture-wise I would say CdM is better than Soft Force, but I didn't pick it up today. Might have to go in and do an exchange.

Lipglass
Queen Bee - AHHHH. This was the only one I was interested in and I must say it is backup worthy for me. Sooo pretty. I am a sucker for apricot/peachy shades, but with the gold sparkle..OMG. I really need more of these. I don't have anything like it and I'm a gloss whore. Love!!!

Highlight Powders
Honey Light & Golden Nectar - Both of these are pretty. I didn't get a chance to play with them too much yet but from the looks of it I will get some use from both. I'll post a better review of these w/swatches later.

Honey Salve
This was the only body product I picked up. Ditto what everyone else has said about this. Doesn't smell very strong. The hand cream was nice but I didn't feel compelled to buy it today. Maybe I will for Part II of my haul
Naked Honey Fragrance
Ok folks, this was the one I was waiting for!! I really do LOVE it. I think Kraseydancer mentioned that she thought it smelled like MJ Daisy when she smelled it....I thought it smelled like something familiar too...but not MJ Daisy. To me, it smelled like.......Ojon Hair Revitalizing Mist!?! If you have ever gotten a whiff of that stuff before you will know it smells kinda tropical and green (not in a bad way either). This fragrance smells like that to me..with the a tad bit of honey thrown in to round it off. That's what my first impression was..it'll probably be different for others. But either way, I love it and I want more!!! Sucks that the bottle is so small but the packaging is cute with the honeycomb bit.

That's all I got for now. I'm already sure that I'll be picking up more Queen Bees and Naked Honey perfume. Hope this helps someone with their wishlist!
