MAC - Grand Duos Discussion - Page 61

Re: MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

Ahhhh....I'm so tempted to get another one of these bad boys....lol....I think these are going to look gorgeous for the Spring and Summer when I just want a little color/glow to my cheeks and I'm not sporting a lot of other makeup....I'm thinking possibly going for Moon River (actually when I asked my MA which ones she would suggest for my NC15 skin, she put all the rest away except for Moon River and Grand Duo....I was on the fence about MR, but had to snatch GD for the beautiful color...). Should I go for MR? Should I go for another one? I have Tippy and Blonde MSF, so I think I could pass LR...right..? LOL

Re: MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

Hmm. I think from the posts I've been reading, Love Rock seems to be a pretty dupeable color. You could still get it for the veinings part though.

It's a very subtle blush indeed. But I think you're fairer than me (NC35) right? So I wonder how well it will show up on me. What the hell, I think I will probably end up getting it anyhow because it looks so pretty in the pan.

Agree with Tish that the glossy lips are highly distracting.

Nice eye makeup! I don't see people walking around with such bold eyes very often (I sure hope it wasn't what you wore to work though ). The same goes for bold lips. People here are pretty tame with their makeup, huh? Makes me feel like a freak sometimes because I get lots of stares.

Glad to know that it's not just a pretty looking thing in the pan, if I buy it.

What kind of job are you doing? Something in the creative field?

Oh. Whew you scared me for a while. If you were working in an office and you wore such makeup there...

Ahh, where's your accessory shop? Maybe I can visit one day.

Re: MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

heheh winnie...it's pretty far from town...in fact it's OUT of town..so it will be pretty inconvenient for you to come, honestly haha.

I think moonriver will appear on u. I've seen your full face pic before :P Hope u will like moonriver as much as many of us here do.

Geesh..i haven't touched my intenso and earth to earth yet. I have like close to 130 blushers and i NEED to rotate them. I am A BLUSH WHORE.

I think i'm goin on a blush ban after rose romance

To be honest I like the look and I would wear it to work in a office...I didn;t think it was too much at all....and this is coming from Ms neutral...My friend is a Bank Administrator and she wears bold looks and suits.... she looks fabulous

I am still on Team No too but I must admit that I still think of them almost daily and my lemming isn't completely gone.
If the lemming gets too strong I have to tell myself that I can achieve the same look with a MSF on top of every blush .. over and over again like a anti-lemming mantra.

You have so many blushes!

And you should use Earth To Earth soon, I think it's really pretty! I'm not so sure about Intenso though, it's not on my wanted list.

Well like I said, I think the environment is pretty conservative here. I've seen office folks, and in fact I just went to visit a Public Relations agency today... Hardly any traces of makeup on their faces except maybe foundation/powder, eyeliner and mascara; I only saw distinctive blusher on one of the ladies that were speaking to us, even so it was very natural looking. Makes me feel sad that I will have to abandon all my drastic makeup when I enter the work force.

Re: MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

I think i shall commit myself to Team no for ALL BLUSHERS from now on...

How many cheeks do i Have... I only have 2 cheeks.

NO MORE BLUSHERS for me!!! Someone pls pull me away from all the blusher counters...

Winnie: I agree with you. In the country where Winnie and I live (We live in Singapore by the way).......most of the women only wear foundation, powder, light blush and light lip colors even on off work days. Colorful make up is frowned upon in our country. The first question that one of my uni mates asked me when i wore a yellow blue e/s combo to sch one day was "Are u having some kinda performance today?"

This tells u what the kind of culture we live in. I wish I lived in an environment where people are more receptive to COLORS.

Depends on what you're lemming for? I think some are less easily duped than others.

I think you've probably bought all the regular MAC blushes at the counter, right? So you're pretty safe there.

Re: MAC - Grand Duos Discussion

But i'm not safe from limited edition blushers like the grand duos :P

Oh no. Erm. Ok then I really don't know how to help you out. Maybe you can bring just enough cash for the items that you're buying from the collection (which does NOT include blush/MSF/BP), leaving all other cash and your credit/ATM cards at home. That way you'll have no access to spare cash for your cheek products.

In fact I think the majority of women here don't even wear makeup regularly at all.

As for me, I never ever leave house without at least foundation, powder, and blusher.

I hope so... Then I won't feel like a freak anymore. Whenever I don a bold lip, I don't know if the stares mean "wow she's so daring and bold" or "omg what a trampy young lady!".
