I've also posted swatches in the swatch thread, if anyone's interested.

And now picture time! (sorry these were a little crappy, and please ignore my bad skin I wasn't wearing makeup)

Did you get the P&P powder in the end? That stuff is amazing! The first time I applied it with a 182, then I tried a 181. Both picked up too much product and I looked ever so slightly ashy. I now apply it with a 188 dupe and the result is flawless. You can still see the glow of my MSFN coming through, but my t-zone is more matte and I get less product transfer from the MFSN (that really annoys me too!).

I feel like there is some big secret to foundation application I'm not aware of. Either that or all foundations in the known universe have declared war upon me (clearly this is the most logical explanation).
Maybe you're using too much moisturiser? If I use too much I find my primer and make-up can't hold on to my skin and they just slide off after a while.

So need your help which brush do you use to apply it and is there anything else I have to think about???
I use a 188 dupe. I prefer that to kabuki brushes.

August 2009

BEST
$$$ M.A.C. Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder ($21). This loose powder is described as “an invisible way to set makeup.” It has a finely milled cornstarch-based texture that feels weightless and, despite its pure white color, actually does go on transparent. I asked a M.A.C. makeup artist with a darker skin tone to show me how this powder looked on her hand, and sure enough, it didn’t appear whitish or ashen. This finishes matte with just a hint of shine, and is a good choice for oily skin that needs extra absorbency. This is not recommended for blemish-prone skin because cornstarch can “feed” the bacteria that contribute to acne. This powder can be used over most shades of foundation without affecting the color.
I don't know if this was posted or not, but Paula Begoun (cosmeticscop.com) rated the P+P powder as the best product for the month of August. she can be very picky with these ratings so it's a big deal that she chose this as the best of the month!

Re: MAC - Colour Ready Discussion

Thanks for that, alka. Interesting to read - I did not know cornstarch could "feed" acne bacteria, that is useful information to have!
