For Sale & Swap

Hi

For the For Sale & Swap forum I would like to suggest that when an item is listed for sale or swap that the item location (country) must be listed within the thread.

I recently purchased several items from a seller that did not mention that the items were being shipped from a county other than the US.

If I had known these items were being shipped from a foreign country I would have choose another buying option that did not that take 10-15 days shipping time.

I don't think it's fair to me to be given this information a week after the sale. I assumed since the seller did not say it was a foreign sale that it was a local sale and that was a huge error on my part. Making the item location mandatory would prevent this type of oversight.

I just found out about two minutes ago that another seller did this to me as well. I'm trying not to be mad but I have to admit that I am really pissed.

I am not pissed....Try to keep in mind that sometimes new sellers are not that experienced...so we need to make a point to ask when it is not noted where the items are shipping from when negotiating....Most seasoned sellers do note whether it is US or INTL...Don't let it bother you too much ...

Re: For Sale & Swap

If it were one new seller I wouldn’t be so mad but it’s more than one seller and they are not so new. If I had known that these items were being shipped from foreign countries I would have either found another source or requested a shipping method that can be tracked. At this point I have no idea where my items are. I would have made different choices had I been given this information prior to the sale.

Re: For Sale & Swap

I saw this thread and had to go back and check my sale! I did post that I ship from Canada so I am not one of the offenders!!

I agree that it does make a difference where something is coming from. It also helps to explain why the shipping charges can differ so much. Shipping within the US or from US to Canada is much cheaper then within Canada or Canada to US (I have done all of these). Canada post needs to have rates more comparable to USPS!!

No you are not one these offenders, lol. You were very nice and very professional when I contacted you. You explained everything from where the items are being shipped from to the break down in the shipping charges.

Re: For Sale & Swap

It doesn't occur to most people I'm sure. Ive never even thought of it, though I'm in the country people assume it's coming from Plus I have a location. I think that more than anything should be required (which I thought was) incase people forget to mention or ask. I hope it works out for you though! You've been great with me!

I didn't even think it's allowed..but definitely needs to be mentioned. I have another gripe though, I wish there was a way to check people out more thoroughly before they join up any forums (like MUA, LJ etc) to stop all the swaplifting. I am new to swapping and the very first person that contacted me, ripped me off. They prey on newbies...

trust me....your not the only one out there, newbies are always the target, dnt feel bad.....this video should help...i avoided so many swaplifters
