Aww, hell. That Notoriety quad took me by surprise, I think I'm going to have to snag it.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I love Front Lit and Lovin It, also Crest the Wave and Off the Page. The quads don't look as pigmented to me. WEll, I guess we'll wait to see them in person.

Thanks for the amazing swatches as always Erine

The Perfect Cheek is definitely on my list then. My blush collection is growing exponentially, it's not even funny

i had my eyes on this from the start. i think i need to be practical with what i would use (notoriety quad) and not buy what i wouldnt use (black l/s).

this is all very exciting though!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

Erin, how are the shadows in the Notoriety Quad? They seemed to swatch well. Any chalkiness or glittery fallout?

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

thank you soo much for clearing the confusion...

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

all four quads (these 3 and the one from the fall trend collection) all swatch beautifully!!!

no fallout whatsoever!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I have a hard time gauging what colours look like when swatched on paper, so i must ask a few questions, sry if im asking repeated questions.

the green quad; would you say they are very olivey? Or greyish? Are they comparable to any other greens or pigments? Same for the Purple quad.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

Okie dokie, then!

I'm lovin':

Photo Realism
Notoriety
Lovin' It l/s
Front Lit l/s
Hold the Pose l/s
Young Thing l/g
Personal Taste l/g
Crest the Wave e/s
Violet Trance e/s
Maira's Magic e/s
The Perfect Cheek
Full of Fuschia t/k

Oddly enough, I'm not feelin' In the Gallery...maybe I'll change my mind once I see a few more swatches.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I just really looked at the swatches. I'm glad you said they were shimmery and not chalky or hard to apply. This is definitely a great follow-up to the CoC collection!

On board with Crest the Wave and Purple Trance for sure!

first and only time posting this, so here ya go dear.

imagemaker is the only olive-y green. its kinda a more greyed version night light pigment maybe. grey range is a lighter version of deep blue green pigment. fresh approach is a soft mint green, and i'm unsure of how to describe photorealism. its heaven!

in the gallery-
lighfall is lightfall. look at the eyes is kinda like crystal. this entire quad reminds me of the cool holiday palette from this past season.

notoriety brings to mind an equally lovely sister to the tempt me quad from fall '04 (top four colours). the colours are obviously different, but they're along those same tones. i'm loving it i tell ya.

+ Maira did 6 bright eye shadows and 4 new bright Technakohls (including a lime and magenta!)

+ Marilyn did 4 pigments (2 new 2 repromotes) and new glitters. Of the 4 glitters, 2 are new reflects glitters. All 4 glitters will be perm in stores, but LE counters. There is also said to be a gloss texture product in Marilyn's part of the collection.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I really just think that Erin should get a special commission from MAC for all of the things she convinces us to buy on here LOL. Thanks so much for all of your patience and hard work Erin!!!!!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

3 quads wooaahh!! I'm a bit of a quad-whore.. I'll definitely get Photo Realism and Notoriety, still thinking about In the Gallery because there's Lightfall. I already own Lightfall and it's not that good in terms of color payoff
But we'll see, I might end up getting them all just like I did with CoC-quads. I'll quite likely be buying Perfect Cheek as well.

As for the solo shadows, I was interested in Crest the Wave and Violet Trance, but as I already own Going Bananas and Stylin' from Lucky Tom -palette, I can't really justify owning all of them can I? Haunting would look stupid own me (all light blues do), I'm not sure if I could pull off Off the Page either, and Maira's Magic isn't all that interesting coz I own quite a few pink shadows already. Purple Shower is the only solo shadow I might get, and I want to see it irl first.

With lipsticks and lipglasses I haven't decided yet, I would like to see how they look on me first. Oh and I love the 3rd promo pic, gorgeous!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

For those who has Crest the Wave, can I justify a buy if I've already own Gorgeous Gold, Bright Future, Golden Lemon and Gold Dusk?
And is it smooth and pigmented?

TIA!

its completely different than all those other yellows! i have all of them and i'm getting CTW.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

^^ I echo this, Crest the Wave is truly unique and hard to describe. It is very smooth and buttery but a very soft, and sort of a white yellow. This is the reason I love the Stowaways quad because it is really so unique.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

Thanks Erine and Abbyquack!

I'm convinced. Adding Crest the Wave to my list

I have to stay away from this thread because I get too impatient and excited whenever I read it
Come on, September, arrive already!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I thought Crest the Wave is just another yellow, but by now its on my list,if there is no other yellow like that

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I love CTW! It's such a pretty white yellow eyeshadow! I only swatched it on my hand and I'm going to do a look with it soon and I'm thinking of some colors that would look best with CTW.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

Hmm, I might have to consider getting CTW after all.. I'll have to see more swatches!
