He saw his pic and was like umm what do you all discuss? I let him know makeup, music and video games and it was safe after that.....Capcom swayed the decision. The guy is a genius with ideas and that's the joke about me stalking his Twitter....usually he puts things up there first and he'll be honest about his opinion despite being a MACer. He's always friendly and he's not the usual MUA....no haughtiness and real down to earth and only a couple I've encountered like that now. That's why I try to not make him the official MAC go to guru all the time because I'm kind of like wowed that him and Erin even volunteer the info willingly and without gain.

I'm officially not riding his testes now.
For a couple posts, this was the Bunny thread! xD Hahaha!!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

*Covering ears about Photo Realism* Everywhere I go people are talking about the Photo Realism quad. I have seen it in person several times and passed. Although it's beautiful I just think I have so many colors "similar" that I never wear. right???? Is there anything like it??? Am I wrong??? Please don't say "Yes" LOL! I am trying to cut back.

I don't know how you international Specktra lovers do it either! I would be ready to buy everything in the collection after reading the threads here LOL.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I am really enjoying all three quads actually! I think Photo Realism is my favorite. Notoriety would since I LOVE Skintone 1 and the orangeyshade, but Notoriety is just too drab for me. Love how perfect all four shades are in Photo Realism!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

What are you all wearing for liners under Lovin It, Hold the Pose lipsticks?

Same question for Personal Taste lipglass?

Cork is my staple liner but I think it will "brown out" the colors too much. Any suggestions to keep the true color? I'm nc44 for reference

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

Me too, I want to join the Photorealism team!!!

I was playing earlier with Full Body, which is a lovely colour but a little too dark for daytime, and I wore it with Smile dazzleglass and it turned out very nice!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I am also part of Team Photorealism!
The most effortless greens to use together! I LOVE the quad so much.

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

i am so in for being a part of team photorealism!

its good, they work well together, but i wouldnt go so far as to say its totally amazing, i duno, i love it, but i'm not blown away.
i could wear it everyday, and the textures are amazing, they look gorgeous on but.. its just a bit too drab for me. i prefer my colours to be a bit bolder

that being said, i have actually worn it everyday since i bought it.. so i must love it quite a bit!

Eh, I just don't look very good in green/blue shades I guess. I tried it again yesterday and it just wasn't working for me. The colors are extremely pretty but they don't flatter me very well. I just sold my Spiced Chocolate quad so I think I may just go and get Notoriety. I really love the gold shade. I thought of selling off my Photorealism but I'm still kind of on the fence, only b/c I think the darkest shade it workable for a great smokey eye. That's it! I like the darkest green but the others are too pastel for me

Count me in the Photorealism club!!! It is awesome! I tried Temptalia's method of using Silver Fog as a base......holy cow, it's divine!!! I used it with Your Ladyship p/g as a highlight.......perfection!

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

today the mac DM told me that the makeup art cosmetics collection wasn't widely-/well-received (one of those W words, lol), possibly due to so many bright colors.
that was really surprising to me because i thought everyone was excited for it.

what have you guys noticed about that-- both you mac MAs and customers alike?
personally, i can kinda believe it the more i think about it. mac should've released this collection somewhere during the beginning of the year when brights were current since fall and winter are moving toward darker colors. *shrugs*

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

I need opinions, do you think if I depotted the darkest color in my Photorealism quad anyone would want to buy the other 3 colors? Just a thought since I hate the idea of $36 for that one color
post #2878 of 3136

Re: MAC - Makeup Art Cosmetics Discussion

yep, wrong time of the year. except for the quads.
the lip products are on point for fall but the brights are so summery.

also the product fell short. I don't know why they repromote products like Violet Trance and Haunting without reformulating them. It's not very smart marketing to put out products that look like bright colors in the pan, but are chalky and poorly pigmented. If you're going to release a brightly colored collection, make sure the quality is there. C-Shock was a great example of this. Bright colors that showed up on your eye as well as in the pan and sold really well because of this.

i don't know about C-Shock as i didn't even wear makeup around that time, but i have to agree because i think with these shadows the problem is that you have to pack them on-- same with Style Warriors (i'm looking at YOU Vibrant Grape and Bright Future), although i don't know how that collection was received in the end.
after a little packing on, Haunting and Maira's Mood look sooo nice, but why do i have to pack it on? and i was so excited to get Off the Page, but i cannot get it to show up on me for nothing. that was so disappointing especially since i wanted a new orange so bad.

and a little addendum to my original opinion, i'm wondering if part of the problem is the mac MAs? i never got a chance to ask the DM (and i didn't bother since i was already holding her up), but if someone sees a color that bright, it would help to tell them how they can wear it. the average person might look at Haunting like , but when i wore it i it with Graphology and Freshwater and it was amazing and the brightness of Haunting along with the satin finish made it such an great wear.

meh, what do i know about business.
