Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

Well, if this collection is sold out next week then it wasn't meant to be.
Katie, I am glad you said none of it is super original, maybe I will be able to stay strong if anything is left when I check it out next week.

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

I went to mac yesterday and walked away empty handed. At first I wanted the pink lippie to go with my Chanel Aqualumiere gloss, but I was underwhelmed. The pinky shade in this collection looks just like Creme Cup to me. The berry shade lippie was not unique at all, even though it was very pretty. I'm trying not to repeat myself with lippies because I've never finished a lip color, so I didn't buy it. The glosses were blah and the nude colored lippie looked gross for my coloring. I ended up just buying a kick ass chanel lipliner to bring out the pale pink gloss.

I will spend a lot of love on this collection, because I love with the packaging and it will be the first thing I buy from that kind of collections. I totally lost my hart on the packaging of the mystery powder it's so old fashion like that kind of things.

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

I saw this collection today, and I'm so underwhelmed by it, both in terms of product colors and packaging. What a disappointment! It's good for my wallet though.

yeah the stuff popped up on the uk site today. £17.50 for a lipstick! i think not. so unfortunately i will not be showing any love because it's too expencive for so-so quality products!

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

I showed it love yesterday I couldn't decide on the 3 I narrowed down from 4, so I got them. We will see how much I like them. I hope Prive looks good on me :\ I started to have doubts. The 2 lighter glosses, I'm sure I will love, but I hope they aren't too sheer. I'm betting Preciousness will be my fav in person as well

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

I just noticed that 2 of the lipsticks are sold out online - Prive and Treasured.

I'm glad I ordered both this weekend. I also ordered all three lip glosses - I'll write my thoughts on them when I get them. Although I am a sucker for the awesome packaging (the lip gloss is in a frosted glass vial ), I really think the colors look pretty and wearable. Maybe dupable, but really, MAC is out doing itself lately with dupes and re-promotes. IMO.

I ended up passing on the mystery powder and compact. At least for the time being (I did pick up the Monogram one at a CCO this past summer). Honestly if it was a full sized powder, I probably would have splurged, but the smaller powder size (and hiked up price tag) really irritates me.

And for those who have said the powder is just another finishing powder, I actually find the coverage to be more of a medium coverage. I usually wear MSFN as my foundation and I find that with a little concealer, I can do the same with the Mystery Powder....plus the texture really is velvety. I think it is a nice product that I wish MAC would consider making permanent. It seems more finely milled and has more coverage than most other MAC pressed powders (at least the couple I have tried).
Anyway, sorry for the longish post, I'll write my thoughts on the actual products when the little black box arrives, hopefully tomorrow or Thursday.

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

^That fast?! Wow! I didn't think that Prive and Treasured l/s would be sold out so quick! Those were the lipsticks that I was going to get online but oh well. I'm trying not to suck myself into buying anything from this collection.

For what I hear I guess I won't be showing love either! But you're right, we don't want expensive so-so quality products!

Let's spread the love with the upcoming collections!

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

Bad news guys... I got my order from baroque Boudoir. I ordered Prive lipstick and Preciousness lipgloss and they are going right back!

They are not worth it in my opinion, the colors are Meh
The lipstick and gloss are def not woth $22 each! The are very bland and boring!

Thank you for the review...yikes. I hope the colors work out for me.
I kinda like bland and boring for everyday, though.

How was the color payoff and texture? Especially of the gloss, it sounds like it is a new formula??

Prive was a nice texture and quite opaque, the color just happened to be the excat shade of my lips. Therefore, I couldnt tell I was wearing any lipstick

The lipgloss texture was nice, not sticky but not like a cremesheen, but it was totally clear!

Good to know. I know this is supposed to be their "upscale" collection, but I can't keep up with Estee Lauder company's price increases - if they're increasing the price without increasing the quality, forgot it! I got a sheer mystery powder from the Stylistics (2007), and even back then it was a splurge for me. When I saw what they'd raised their prices to this year, I was shocked. I'd rather save my money for Paul & Joe and Shu Uemura.

I'm glad someone agrees with me.

Does MAC refund you for the returned products?

Yeah I went to the counter with my friend that day, and when I was swatching the lipglosses my friend commented that it looked so colorless on my hand.

I will still get MAC even if there's a price hike, but I'll just have to be more selective with the items I purchase.

Re: MAC - Baroque Boudoir Discussion

I seriously LOVE Treasured lipstick. The baroque Im not much a fan of, and the pink one is ok. But Treasured is my fave, and we sold out a few days ago of it
