Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

I tried JDV today and I absolutely adore it! I thought it'd be too coral on and I would need to apply a bronzer over it, but nope! So so pretty all on it's own! I used my 188. It took a little longer to apply than when I use a powder blush, but I'm sure that'll change once I get the hang of it. And it looked so pretty and dewy! I am sooo glad I decided to come on this thread, because I had planned on completely skipping these blushes!

And thanks Bis and Smokesignal for your kind words! I really wasn't bummed out about the interview since it was my first in about 7 years (had my two kids during that time)! I needed to get that first one out of the way and figured as much!

I am wearing it today too, and I love it as well! Pinkier than it looks, and gorgeous on the lips! So glad that I went back for it.

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

Now I'm definitely considering to get at least one blush!!!

I was skipping this because planning on getting 4 blush ombres from Spring Color Forecast, but since they are a scamp I'm getting none. So now, I can guilt-free have at least one from this collection!

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

lol im so turned off by spring forecast, i might have to sneak to the mac store and get the orange blush now after all the assurance from you ladies.

i think i'll pass spring forecast and wait for the liberty collection. mac in lillyland really caught me. i didnt like it at first from the initial descriptions but i am really loving this collection. my bf got me coconut ice for me knowing im dead broke lol. he is so sweet to support me. i am even considering a lipgelee even though i dont really need it.

wore JDV today with a plain face, some mascara and femme-fi on top of bare study today. i am really loving these blushes, they wear so well for harsh weather. i wish mac would get rid of the old cream blushes and replace them with this formula. ya'll wait and see. they cannot ignore the success of these blushes lol.

That is so sweet of him. I so agree - the blushes are fantastic! JDV is such a great color - for everyone.

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

oh, I used So sweet, so easy up my whole cheekbone area, then lightly patted JDV only on the apples of my cheeks over SSSE - so pretty!!!

Also, do the same with so sweet so easy, then just lightly pat Florida just on the apples of the cheeks - love!!!

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

I used Optomistic Orange cremeblend blush today and I have to admit that I like the way that it looks. I was scared that it wasn't going to look good on me. I used a 188 brush and lightly swirled it on and it gave a really pretty coral glow.

I still don't think that it will replace my go-to blushes but I was really suprised that it worked for me. I am NW15 BTW.

Don't be scared of how bright it is because it can be really sheered down.

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

So is it Opto or Opti

Every time I read Optomistic Orange I think of Optimus Prime from Transformers. Our son played with those many years ago when they first came out in the early 80's & Optimus the truck was one of his favorites.

Hahaha! Actually, i was so nervous I was actually closer to this...

I'm also happy to report that JDV lasted through the day over my foundation for the most part. It did fade a little, but I'd say most of my blushes fade by 10:00 at night!

stv578: I am sorry to hear you don't think your interview went well I still have a memory of a group one that I totally bombed myself...ugh, horrible feeling. So keep positive and keep going! The right thing will come along if it's not this one!

No dear, I didn't take any pictures. It was late & I didn't even think to do that. The colors are very pretty together

Well that just stinks! Maybe they'll restock, but can you get it from a store or calling MAC's order line?

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

All the ravings about the cream blushes have left me lemming for one. You ladies look beautiful wearing the cream blushes! Maybe I will get JDV or SSSE, since I will pass the blush ombre if the gradient is only at the top.

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

I only bought Lush and Bright lipgelee from this collection. It's now my favorite gloss! It's pretty pigmented, so sparkly and not sticky at all. Move over dazzleglass! Didn't get any cream blush because I'm not really a fan of putting creamy stuff over my face powder. And I'm afraid of looking greasy.

Now I'm lemming another lipgelee. Any recommendation? I think I'm NC20 by the way.

Here are some pictures of me wearing Lush and Bright (just a sheer layer) with makeup from All Races, All ages, All sexes.

Re: MAC - MAC in Lillyland Discussion

^ i have oily skin, and i dont find these blushes greasy looking at all. i wore it over mineral foundation (applied with 188 brush) and over studiosculpt and both are fine. i always put finishing powder on top too so i havent had any problems with textures, but it might be a different story if you had powder on and then you tried to apply the blush with your fingers. i had the blotchy problems with maidenchant cream blush but not with the lillyland ones

Couldn't agree more. I truly believe things always happen for a very good reason and that in the end, all works perfectly good. I'm pretty sure an amazing job is on your way!!!

That would be dreamy!! Then we'd have more shades and could pick them whenever we're up to.!!

My vote is for JDV. It's beautiful.

I finally tried So Sweet, So Easy today and really loved this too! It looked like it could go on a Barbie pink, but it didn't, it was really a pretty clean pink shade. I am tempted to pick up Shift to Pink lipgelee, but I may ask DH for that for valentine's day.
