Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

Dazzlelight and Copperplate? Why does MAC want to get rid of fabulous products and keeps the crappy products like most of the Lustres (or chalky mattes)?

And Delft? Way to go MAC. Just keep the neutral bases and take away the fun and possibilities for creativity. I mean its not that you advertise yourself with you beeing such a creativity encouraging brand, right?

If Dazzlelight and Copperplate have to make room for the new bright eyeshadows my excitement for the Pop Colour e/s is cooling off.

Dazzlelight is a staple dammit as well as Copperplate. No.. I really don't get why they d/c great products. Dazzlelight is my favorite highlighter and IMO it kicks Shrooms butt. Also it makes a gorgeous cheek highlighter and its sheen even looks a bit like Lightscapade on my cheekbones.
And Copperplate? Another gorgeous matte2 with a fab texture.. and a grey?!

Can anyone else confirm that Dazzlelight and Copperplate have to go? Delft and Fresco Rose are on the goodbyes but I need to be sure until I have to organize some backups.

I am so confused and upset with MAC right now. First we have this sloppy ass release of new colors (exciting) but NO PROMOTION for them !! Secondly they are getting rid staple colors! Especially to be getting rid of yet another MATTE color!!!! Well I guess this is going to be an Exciting and eventful year for MAC. I feel like my detective work for this year and MAC will never end!!!!

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

You know I was at my counter today and although I did see most of these shades (I got Lucky Green the only one that stood out to me anyway, didn't see Brick Red tho..) I forgot to get another Delft do'h!!

ITA, the MA was pissed too b/c she uses Dazzlelight everyday. But they'd already stopped getting shipments in of the two colors and were completely out of Copperplate, even already removed the tester. But who knows, MAs have certainly been wrong before, right?!! And they're not showing the TOD online yet...

But, while some of the new colors are exciting, some of them, imo, don't really need to be perm, ie- Red Brick. It's kind of a weird color, I bought it last week from PRO, and I kinda look at it wondering wtf I will even do with it. I mean, I think the e/s need a true red in it, but this is a strange red with a terra cotta hue. We'll see how they all fare!

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

Ok so someone posted on MUA that she was able to get Winkle e/s from Nordies yesterday. She said "it's a satin, and it sucks."

That's great. I am disappointed already. I was so excited for that one but it may only be Lucky Green for me. And Dazzlelight. I have never owned it, so if I can find it, I want to get one. Watch, I will love it, and since they are doing away with it. *groan*

Dazzlelight and Copperplate are two of MACs best eye shadows. It would be crazy to d/c them.
They have d/c enough matte2 e/s anyhow. This should stop now!

If they would ever d/c Blanc Type protest will happen.
They already have taken Graphology, Poison Pen and Signed, Sealed (and more) away. Stop it!

sometimes I fear this

I always notice Canada's goodbye section is different from America's...and probably updated later sometimes, but I dont see Delft or Fresco Rose there, nor marked as limited in the paint pot section. I guess it will change over eventually? I wanted Delft. Got some deciding to do...I wonder if it will work well with Love Lace and Suave Intentions e/s?

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

I hate to buy backups, but if Copperplate is going I'll have to, that is one of the best colours I have from Mac! Also I really like Delft, but I still have almost a full jar left. I'm afraid if I bought a backup of Delft, they'd just dry out before I could use either one up. Creamy products could be more diffficult to stock than powders?

I also love my Dazzlelight! I really hope that these are just rumours and the shadows are not being discontinued.

I'm looking forward to see these new colours though, I want atleast Lucky Green!

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

^DC'ing Copperplate and Dazzlelight e/s are rumors so they are not discontinuting them. I so need to get Delft paint pot sometime this week.

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

I had Delft Pain Pot, that mofo creased so bad on me, uggghh. Are they ALL like that? I've heard WONDERS about Painterly and Soft Ochre.
I think I'll stick with paints <3

I have many of the paint pots and non of them crease on me. I would say the creamy ones like Painterly are less prone to creasing in general than shimmery ones like Delft. Ppl have different oiliness levels though. I wear paint pots and even NYX jumbo pencils as base and they don't crease. I know some folks that always have to wear UDPP under them though.

I've been through two Painterly's already. I need to get a new one soon.

paint pots don't crease on me either luckily maybe use a base like udpp under your delft and see if that helps!

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

Well, really you should use UDPP under anything. UDPP is a primer, and paints, paint pots, etc. are bases.

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

I dont really believe in bases/primers (UDPP, Too faced shadow insurance, Paint Pots, paints etc.) . I guess i just never got into them that much. Kind like glorified creme eyeshadows to me. Even when i do makeup on people with oily lids i dont need a base, it might be my application methods or something.

Im just sad that Mac is discontinuing products at all, wether i use them or not. It wouldnt be a problem if they made more thigns permanent, but thats not very oftne honestly.

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

BOO the store wouldnt sell Lucky Green to me early LOL of course I did go to a store that didn't know me. Oh well....

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

glad to see that these will be perm!!!! I checked these out shortly after the new year (on the 5th or so) at my local Nordie's and the only ones I really liked were the pink one and lucky green (of course). The others seemed really flat and chalky and I barely got any color payoff. Idk..

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

Last night I finally placed an order on Delft paint pot!! I'm so happy now! Paint pots never creases on me since I always use Too Faced Shadow Insurance underneath paint pots. Lucky Green e/s will be the only purchase that I'll make before I decide if I want the others.

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

I just called my Nordstrom, and they aren't getting these. I was at a Dillard's counter yesterday, and they are getting them either, not even as LE. Both said MAC stores only.

I chatted with an MUA last night looking for a match to Lovechild and asked her about the collection. She told me that the 8 new colors will be available online for purchase in addition of course as you know in the MAC stores themselves

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

These colors are now up on the mac site! No launch but just look for them in the eyeshadow section.

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

^^ Yep, they're online now actually! Since they are supposedly permanent, I will probably hold off a little, at least til after Spring Color Forecast and the Mineralize Foundation come out. And, since Free to Be is coming out in the Liberty of London collex with cute packaging, I'll get that then. Oh and sorry but the description for Sunny Spot is awesome: Light acid green yellow.

Audrey, that's really weird about your counters not getting these, I've talked to 3 Nordies counters and they were all expecting this as perm.

Re: MAC POP Colour Collection discussion

Oh my goodness. I think I need to place my order. All of those look so delicious. I especially want the coral b/c I don't have a coral e/s and I want to get into that.
