It very well could be, but the nearest store is Chicago, which is 5 hours away. Yes, I could order it, but I'd have to pay more for shipping AND sales tax is A LOT higher.

No one wants to pay for 11% tax... or whatever insane amount it is. CP?

Oh, and Shypo, I plan on a tiny Chanel haul in June too - only a nailpolish though. Too rich for my blood!
I'll try to have a swatch up later today.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

Ok, after playing with my stuff for a few days now I think e/s Sweet & Punchy, e/s Firecracker and blush Hipness are must haves!

Even if you have Bitter, Lucky Green or Rated R - Sweet & Punchy has an amazing colour payoff and looks gorgeous on the lid.

Wear Firecracker with the 217 in the crease and you will love it!

And Hipness is one of the prettiest summer blushes in a very long time for me. I don't know why I didn't get it with Fafi!! Silly me.

I still recommend Refined Golden as THE perfect bronzing powder for almost all skin tones.

I got Sun Rush when it came out before and loved it soo much that I got a back-up (I rarely do back-up). I'm darker than you (NC30) and mix it with my tinted mostirizer and it gives me an amazing hint of glow. Hope this helps

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

Man, I am so tempted to travel back to the pro store today to get Beachbound. I want it now, now not in a few days after I order it.

How do you do this? Heat the lipglass up in the microwave and pour it into pots?

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

After I have some time on my hands again, I played with my TTB goodies:

- My highlight so far is the Beach Bronze cream bronzer. At first I was really unsure if I want to get it, but the colour is such an amazing match for me, Refinded Golden makes me look like I was playing in dirt The shimmer in it is enough to make it interesting, but not too much so it is noticeable. My glitter detector did not see anything, even in the sun. The best brush for it is the 130 (yay, glad I kept it), the 109 works as well, but you really want a stiff brush to get it on.
I did bit swatch the darker cream bronzer.

- All the eyeshadows have amazing payoff, even Sand & Sun went on well. I did not get it, as I have no idea what to wear it with.
Sweet & Punchy is a more yellow on me than Sharp and the finish makes it appear differently. Not a lot though.
Firecracker is this interesting coral with pink duochrome, great payoff too.

- I got both lip liner, Life's a Breeze being my first pink lip liner. They are hard, but not as hard as the regular lip liner. Temperature Rising is a neon orange. My fav combo is filling my lips with TR and then Flurry of Fun over it. Bright red coral with teal sparkles! Got a lot of compliments for this one.

- Flurry of Fun is a great colour with very noticeable teal/turquoise glitter. The base colour is very sheer, so this gloss works best layered over a lipstick, except if you just want the glitter. Consistency is thick and sticky like Sugar Trance.
Splashing is the amazing pink, very opaque and so my kind of pink.

- Float on By stayed less than an hour on my waterline, which must be a record. On the lower and upper waterline I had no issues at all, stayed put all day/evening.
Rosemary & Thyme is a colour I have my eye on since forever, but I am not sure if I can wear this colour might give it a try though.

- Hipness is a nice, very wearable and not too pigmented pink on me. Not what I expected from descriptions, but still a nice pink. I did not swatch Get Away Bronze, as it was scary dark in the pan.

- From the lipsticks I only swatched Lazy Day My perfect pinks, nice combo together with Life's a Breeze.
Thrills and Funbathing looked too dark and sounded too warm, and Beachbound reminded me a lot of Sunsational and it was a glaze.

- Did not swatch the bronzers, as I know that Refined Golden looks too dark and too orange on me, but the packaging is very nice.

- Did not swatch the body oil, the smell totally turned me off

- Sorcher n/p is a very bright red-orange and is on its way to me. In The Buff is a very interesting shade. I was thinking long about this one, but I left it and later though sorry about it. But I have Diddy Mow and think this one looks a lot better on me.

- Marine Life is what I expected Hipness to be, a nice, very bright coral on me. As I wanted to try a brighter blush on me, I got it. Although so far I was lacking the courage to wear it

Great collection! I was pleasantly surprised. Hope this helped someone.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I am wearing Sand & Sun with Firecracker in the crease. They look really nice together. It can be a little bit to orange/red and that's why i have Float on By on the lower lashline and i set it with Shimmermoss. It doesn't smudge when it is set.
I also have Hipness blush on and it is gorgeous. This is going to be one of my favorite blushes Flurry of Fun is going to be one of my favorite lipglasses for summer. The teal glitter looks pretty

Edit: Thrills lipstick is also a really nice summer colour, because of the gold sheen. I thought it would be to dark for me (NC15), but i had it on yesterday and i like it.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

You are all so chatty!

My promised quick lip swatch of Thrills l/s:

The frosty coppery shimmer hides almost completely the berry base color of Thrills. When I removed Thrills from my lips after the swatch it looked like a berry lipstick on the tissue.

I wouldn't wear Thrills as heavy as on the swatch but I think I will wear it sheered out tomorrow.

edit:
I am NC15 and my lips are unpigmented to medium pigmented

Man, I'm SO LUCKY I live in NH. No sales tax for me

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

Thrills looks lovely on you capmorlovesmac. Coachkitten you can always get Float on by and return it if you find it's smudging.

And about the Chi-town tax....I visited there in 1996 and nearly fell over when they said it was almost 10% back then with another tax lopped on top!

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I only have 6% sales tax. I'd be happy to help people out...but wouldn't the shipping cost be counterproductive? I mean, unless you can take everything and shove it into a $4.85 small flat rate priority box, I don't see how you're saving money, unless you're buying 100's worth.

Oh, and the question of the day: Who needs men? I mean, seriously?

Just a thought. My boyfriend behaves like a little child since a few days.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

So, this collection is only in PRO stores and going to be online tomorrow? Corrrrrrect?

Sadly... I'll only be getting two shadows and Marine Life. :/

Lots of pics in the swatch thread! Also comparison with Neo Sci-Fi and Manish Arora.

Hope they help!

I'm pretty sure this collection is being released everywhere, not only at PRO stores. I pre-ordered my items from the Nordstroms counter 2 weeks ago.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I'm so sad! I can't find Marine Life in any of my local MAC stores and it's sold out online!

Serves me right for taking my time, I should've learned my lesson after missing out on Ripe Peach!

Silly me.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

^I really hope that doesn't happen to me!!!! I'm camping out on the website tonight though to make sure I get it. I'm going to be nervous if I don't get it tonight though, because I have to work Tuesday a.m. and will not be near a computer!

And I'm trying to cut things from my list here, but that swatch of Thrills didn't help!

Oh, no! I'm sure someone will come by & offer to CP for you, as the collection is about to release here in the US. We want to make sure that true MAC fans get Marine Life, and not some money-hungry ebay seller who will inflate the prices beyond belief.
