Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

Happy birthday Nora!!

Btw I got so excited about receiving Marine Life that I wore it out that very night. The first swipe was the most painful as I didn't want to destroy the lovely seahorse, after that was done, I didn't feel so bad about using the product anymore. This product is seriously PIGMENTED and BRIGHT!! I got a nasty shock when I applied it to my face; I looked like a clown for a while until I started blending it out. Anyway I ended up with one cheek that was gold and shiny looking, and the other cheek that was more matte looking (after the overspray was gone). How strange! But the color is pretty vibrant and fun, I like it. I also wore Thrills lipstick out yesterday, it's very pretty and natural looking on me (with an interesting sheen to it). Plus it somehow makes my teeth look whiter, not that I'm complaining of course.

I know what you mean- I'm trying not to even go anywhere near my local counter. If I even go there, I'll end up with Hipness, Thrills l/s and probably back-ups of FoF and TR.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

MY BF was brave enough to venture into the MAC store alone to get me the beach bag as a surprise, and told me afterwards that some of the MAs recognised him and seemed to know for whom he wanted it, because he assompanies me from time to time. He was so bouncy for getting me something I really wished for - it was really cute.

Aww Cute!

I'm trying to imagine my boyfriend in a MAC store, alone... He'd be so lost and overwhelmed

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

So ladies, what were your top picks from To The Beach? I haven't tried my Easy Lounger, Life's A Breeze or Body Oil yet so I cannot fully comment on those, except they looked nice on hand. From what I've used I love:
- Flurry Of Fun!
- Golden bronzer!
- Temperature Rising used to its full potential!

Nice ones (but didn't got me overly excited):
- Float On By
- Firecracker

Just okay (not bad though!):
- Sand&Sun (just because I had dupes already I didn't realize when purchasing)
- Beachbound (not too unique)

Now I just wait for the warmer sunny days so I can try the body oil!

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

i wish i coulda gotten the bag. i want it so bad. but alas no money and i highly doubt anyone would swap with me for it. lame sauce! but whatever guess i'll deal.

everyone's being stingy about swapping for ttb stuff. it's lame and i'm REALLY hoping i can figure out some more empties soon so i can see if my store has anymore beach bound, lazy day and sand and sun... but i did a swap for humid! and maybe i can figure out b2m for shimmermoss. meh.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

My favorite of this collection turned out to be tempature rising though i still use sand and sun the most. flurry of fun is awesome, of course but i am still not much of a lipglass girl.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

For anyone here who has the cream bronzers.....do you apply it to your entire face or only certain areas such as cheeks? I just recently got back from vacationa nd have a nice tan and have been using my powder bronzers all over for my face for even colour but i'm unsure if you do that what a cream bronzer? Or should i not even be putting powder bronzer all over my entire face now? LOL! I swear i don't look like Snookie from Jersey Shore!

Hi, I used the cream bronzer in a "3" shape, from forehead, to cheekbones to chin. Not on the apples of the cheeks, but I did sweep it close to there. I just don't want my cheeks to look too greasy, so I avoided the actual apples. Does this make any sense at all?

Great picks. Mine were:

Sweet & Punchy,
Firecracker,
Float on By and
both creme bronzers.

I still don't venture myself with Marine Life!!

I don't think, you should apply them under any circumstance to your entire face.

You can apply them, as abby quack suggested or try the apples of your cheeks, your nose, chin and forehead. I don't find them oily at all.

If you're already tanned, be sure to apply them with light hand.

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

My top picks:

Flurry of fun l/g: I LOVE it! I have 2 because I am scared of running out of it. It looks amazing over practically any lipstick. Yesterday I used it on top of Lollipop Loving and it looks awesome!

Marine Life High-Light: Not only the design is amazing but the color is wonderful! Its the perfect coral blush for me and it gives my cheeks such a nice glow. LOVE it!

Refined Golden Bronzer: It is a great bronzer! The color doesn't turn orange or anything and it gives a really nice glow.

Temperature rising l/l: At first when you swatch it, it looks really orange but blended out on the lips an paired with a lipgloss (Flurry of fun for instance) it turns into a beautiful corally color! Its an amazing lip liner and I am sad for not getting a backup

*I am waiting for Get-away bronze and Hipness so when I try those maybe they'll be on my list too

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

My tops:

Lazy Day
Firecracker
Hipness (worn this almost every single day since launch, haha)
Thrills
Flurry of Fun

I still haven't tried my Marine Life. Maybe I never will? So pretty with the overspray...

Re: MAC - To The Beach Discussion

To the Beach has just come out here in New Zealand this week- and I think I'm kinda in love with it! I honestly thought I wasn't going to get anything from this collection but as soon as I saw it in person I changed my mind!
So far I have picked up:
Flurry of Fun
Temperature Rising
Fireracker
Sand and Sun
and the 131 brush!
I think I'm going to end up popping back to my MAC counter to pick up some more goodies!
