MAC - In the Groove Discussion - Page 104

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Btw girls, for those who have Jazzed.

Jazzed and a pale cremesheen on top is to drool for.

Jazzed + Boy Bait
Jazzed + On The Scene
Jazzed + Fashion Whim
Jazzed + Partial to Pink
Jazzed + lolz you get the idea

Jazzed by itself is very nice too. I got pigmented lips and it nicely neutralized it to a peachy/coral colour. Bahh...hard to explain lolz ... just go check out the swatch thread if you don't understand my rambling LOLZ

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I just got back with my haul!

I got Stereo Rose, Love to Love, band of roses and go for it l/s. I'm in a pretty small, sleepy area so if anyone wants me to CP Stereo Rose let me know. I can check if they still have more. Marine Life didn't sell out here until sunday afternoon, so you never know. I love Go for it l/s, the MA used vino lip liner and it was awesome!! She didn't know anything about the stereo rose hype either. She also managed to talk me out of petticoat, she says she doesn't understand why anyone would have more than one of the MSFs. She doesn't like them much. I may go back and if it is still there I will get it too!
ETA: I just got back with the last Stereo Rose, cp for a lovely specktra lady!!

Happy hauling ladies!!

ETA: picture of the look the MA did on me: She used Love to Love MES + brun e/s, Band of Roses MB, Stereo Rose MSF, Lady Gaga l/s. If this is a no n o, please let me know!!

False scarcity ftw!!!

I ran down to the store and got SR and a few other items. Now, on 7/8 I just got my shipping confirmation with SR on it. So, I guess now I will have two.

But, after all the hype I'm a little disappointed. I'm an NC50 and find that it barely shows up on my skin. I thought it would be darker. I plan on playing with it some more. If I can't get it to work I might sell or swap my second one. I have Band of Roses coming in my online order and I'm really excited about that. I swapped it in the store and I think it looks beautiful on darker skin tones.
Works on me, but then again I'm between NC45 and NC50. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I honestly don't think MAC knew about all the hype. The MUA's were counting the stock when I walked in and I heard the why do we only have 8 stereo roses and a million of everything else.

I see in your signature that you're a NC 43. I'm equivalent to NC44 and Band of Roses is GORGEOUSssssssssssss

not enabling. Just letting you know

Maybe I'll follow PinkBasset's suggestions and really keep both. Happy Together seemed to be like By Candlelight on me. I'll get them tomorrow or on Saturday, because I first ordered them and then went to the store to swatch. I'll hopefully have made up my mind untill then!
Band of Roses has such a pretty colour and Happy together seems so versatile... Decisions, decisions!
Well that didn't help me at all!!
I hope you love them both enough to keep them both. Let me know what you decide.
I never thought about comparing HT with Candlelight. Maybe I can layer that over some brozer for a similar look. Hmmmm.....

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I got the last Petticoat and of course Stereo Rose sold out. My MAC counter only recieved 3 and one was for tester . Of course the person taking my order (hold) messed up and didnt include it. So, by the time i went there it was sold out ! I ended up getting Petticoat and By Candlelight. I did test Stereo Rose and it reminded me so much of Marine Life (which ive got), so i dont think ill be missing out as much.

The only thing that does bother me is that they contain Isopropyl Palmitate which is a BIG pore clogging irritant :/

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I'm thinking in the stores where they 'only got 2 Stereo Roses' the MUA's have probably snapped them up already!

I'll try to post swatches tomorrow if that helps? My camera just don't want to cooperate right now - I'll have to try to upload pics at the PC at work.

Oooh I'm going to try with boy bait on top!
Jazzed is so pretty, I keep staring at the swatch on my hand lol

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I wonder if my store sold out? I ordered 3 this morning over the phone to be mailed out to me but I didn't even bother asking them how many they got in because they seem to get ample supply. I remember Style Black I was worried about Volcanic Ash being sold out and the guy reassured me that they had plenty of stock not to worry I'd get it.

I look a hot sweaty mess but here's Go For It. It should be lighter but I am heavy handed and added 3 layers. Ignore the hanger straps from my stupid shirt/dress/ whatever it is.

It is beautiful, but sadly, too orange for my skin so I passed.
Funny how it's so different depending on where you are. I went by MAC @ a bay counter on lunch & since the MA's there are familiar with me, the first thing they said after how's it going is that Stereo Rose is already sold out, and this is at a counter that generally gets more stock than others.

I agree though, I have had zero interest in it for the same reason.

I ended up with Band of Roses and Hang Loose. Hopefully Hang Loose won't be too shimmery. It seems that the pale pink MB's always seem to have that high frost finish.

So pretty! Band of Roses topped with Stereo Rose is used in one of the collection looks on the MAC site too! It looks gorgeous on you!

Edit: Oops, the look on the MAC site actually used SR over New Vibe...same idea though! lol

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Bless anyone my complexion (NC45) or darker who insists on making Jazzed or Creme D'Nude work for them. They were impossible to me. CdN was kinda workable when I patted it on, but adding the corresponding cremesheen completely washed it out. Terrible. And Jazzed settles in the liplines and looks garish. Not cute.

I ended up buying You've Got It, Call My Bluff, Chillin' and a back up of Go For It. I was shocked because my only intentions was to check out Jazzed and get a backup of GfI and maybe get Partylicious.

More thoughts: I LOVE Call My Bluff. I was totally gonna blow by this but I had major time to kill and I'm glad I decided to play with it. It's much cooler than Touch (a fave of mine). It doesn't require gloss, but it looks great with You've Got It cremesheen also. It's just a perfect nude and much more workable than Siss.
The girl talked me into Chillin'. It really is nice, though. I already had on GFI. It softens it up and adds shine. It's really unique.

SOooo, I walked over to Bloomingdales just to see what was up. Nordstroms and Mac were out of Stereo Rose and I wanted to get a kick out of knowing it was gone there, too. Low and behold, they had two left. The girl said they only got 3 to begin with. So, I said hmm....I think I'll buy it. Now I know mineralized products are not my friend, but I could not resist. I will test this lightly and see what happens. If it irritates me, I will sell it. I just want to take a chance or else regret it. Although, I must say, I prefer Petticoat. I may go back for that this weekend (if it's still there). I'm wearing SR right now and so far, so good.

I bought something from Alice & Olivia, but I'll post it in that thread. I have pictures coming, too.

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

THanks boo! ^ Normally I'll try to look decent and fix my hair and do proper makeup before taking a pic like this, but I can't be bothered it's too hot.

Shontay: Grrrr I was also thinking of a backup of GFI, I fucking love it. Not sure if I wanna get an MES or a backup now. I'm scard it'll sell out.

I love to wear my lips nudes during the weekdays so it was natural for me to pick up Call My Bluff and You've got it. I am flashy on the weekends so I did pick up Jazzed and I was thinking I could work it thinly and with a liner, but I don't know yet. If you can't work with it then for sure I probably can't. If I can't then I'll take it back and get Go For It. I was trying to stay away from purple l/s because I have a few already, but one more won't hurt, huh?

When I look at Creme D' Nude I had imagined it going on white or my lips looking chapped so I passed on it and I'm glad I did. Thank you.

I passed on Chillin' because I picked up a better option from A+O.

And I don't even reach for Petticoat at all. Maybe I'll give it another try. I had got it from a CCO last year.

nope, i'm not too impressed either. i bought it anyways, because i think it might look nice dabbed lightly over hipness or instant chic. but i seriously do not get the hype...

Must give a shout out to Happy Together blush, so pretty! I love warm blushes, they always look more natural on my cool coloring.

Oh and did yall see Temptalia's dupe for SR? Mix Petticoat and Comfort together. Looks pretty close. HTHs!
My jaw just hit the floor reading this post. I cannot believe they sent them back. Yikes! What were they thinking?!!!!

Anyone have both By Candlelight and Perfect Topping? I LOVE my PT, and was wondering if i need BC also. I know they swatch a bit different, but is it noticeable on the cheek?
Which one do you like better? I'm NC35 btw if that helps. Thank you!
