MAC - In the Groove Discussion - Page 138

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

so I finally stopped by the Mac counter today after what seems like months, and this was the collection that totally caught my eye as I am quite the mes lover!

I really wanted to love the pink/lavender blush duo, but I thought it may have been too icy/frosty when i mixed the two colours.

I got:
-togetherness mes---I really am digging the purple-y middle strip, and love greys so this was a no brainer!
-fresh &easy mes--pink, burgundy, grey--love the colours, and I think itll be perfect to grab a single mes in the morning, or even take it on an overnight trip somewhere!
-happy together blush duo--i thought this is a great neutral, and i have a ton of pinks, raspberry, etc blushes, this will be a great addition---my neutral since I missed out on Nuance way back when!

i cannot wait to play with them!!

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I swatched Hang Loose on my hand yesterday and I'll be damned that I actually like it as much as everyone goes "Meh" about it. So I go to the Clearance Bin and man the forum search function does not help. I just can't bring myself to pay the exorbitant $23 for that little thing. *sigh*

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Ok, I bought Togetherness mes the day of the launch...and I love it and have worn the grey color every day.

Now I'm kind of lemming another mes because I was so impressed with this one. Any suggestions? I'm an nc20 if that helps. I haven't really been paying attention to which mes were the big hits. The only one I know for sure I won't get is CCC (the green) because I have the Photorealism quad (another love LOL)

Thanks for your input!

I ordered Togetherness today! I really wanted to get Soften The Mood too, but I will first see how I like the texture with Togetherness. I think STM would look beautiful on you! That green trio is indeed very similar to the Photorealism quad (one of my favorites too!).

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Togetherness MES almost went home with me Friday lol I swatched it and thought of everyone's raves about it. I'm unsure if I want to get Togetherness and Blue My Mind MES.

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

OMG!! It's been so long since I stopped here ... Anyway, last time I promised I post my goodies from this one. Much to my own disappointment (I do love a bit of drama ), there was no hype for SR here and it was not more difficult to get it than any other item from the collection. A week after launch here, there was still stock at counters!!

So I got:

Stereo Rose, Comfort, By Candlelight (BU) and Petticoat MSF's,
Hang Loose, Band of Roses () and Happy Together () MB's and
Chillin' CSL.

Also, Go for It and Jazzed l/s are supposed to be waiting for me at my MAC Pro. I'm loving my goodies so much!!

You should be glad that there wasn't any hype for SR. Trying to hunt down a sold-out LE product is hell.

Meanwhile, enjoy your goodies!

Are you looking for something from this one?? May I help you??

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Eugenia you got exactly the same blushes that I did! Isn't Happy Together so very pretty? I love it!

I cannot wait to get Togetherness. I blame you enablers! I was so sure nothing could make me buy these MES but all mighty Specktra did it!

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I caved and got Band of Roses--but I will probably end up using it as an eyeshadow. I am not so thrilled about the In the Groove MES. It doesn't show up as pigmented as I hoped. Maybe I should try it wet?

Nordies lost my Petticoat and Jazzed in the mail. Oh well, more money for FF and Rodarte. I am pretty happy with Crosswires and Made to Order for pinkish coral lippies. Anyone compare Jazzed to those or or Fresh Salmon or SeeSheer?

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

^Jazzed and Fresh Salmon are not even close. Jazzed is more of a peachy coral while Fresh Salmon is a pinky coral.

Wonder if I can layer Shy Girl with Fresh Salmon?

Great minds do think alike, dear Heidi!! Happy Together it's pure love!! It's the prettiest thing!! When I first saw pics of it I was sure I was going to pass it, but I just couldn't resist it once I swatched it!!

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I thought this might be interesting to those who are looking to get Hang Loose MB. I found this one someone's blog about a dupe for the blush. Here is the link: Will Work for Makeup...: MAC Hang Loose Mineralize Blush Dupe.

Same here. I'm in a Hang Loose short break now. I had been wearing Hang Loose nonstop since I bought it. I should go back to HL soon. Cannot stay away from this baby for too long.

Must be her skin tone because I have both and they look nothing alike on me and they apply very differently.

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Speaking of Hang Loose...

Yeah, I caved and bought it today. I tried it on, looked at it indoors and outdoors...and I liked it. Light and feminine and not like anything I own. I'm still wary of the price tag, so I'll try it for a while and make a final decision later.

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

In the Groove came out in Australia last week and thanks to the great reviews and swatches on here I was able to make some wonderful purchases! I bought and LOVE my jazzed l/s, stereo rose MSF, fashion whim l/g, new vibe and happy together MBs.

However, I am not loving In the Groove MES trio. I bought it because I thought the colours were very pretty, different to anything I have, and they swatched ok on my hand.

I have tried it over Painterly paint pot but the two pale colours are just not very pigmented on me (NC 40). Even when I pack on heaps of colour the peachy and gold/green colours don't show up, they just look sort of muddy coloured with a bit of shimmer!

The dark burgundy/brown colour is more pigmented but it still looks muddy when I use it in the crease with one of the other two colours on the lid, even with minimal blending.

Does anyone have any good colour combinations using this trio (+/- other perm colours) or advice on using it? This is my first mineralize e/s so I'm not used to using them, maybe it's a technique thing.

TIA!

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

Back from China and now i have to catch up over 3 weeks on specktra! I finally got to play with my ITG stuff. I bought By Candlelight, Petticoat and Stereo Rose. Yesterday i wore Petticoat as blush and today i'm wearing Stereo Rose as blush with By Candlelight as a highlight. I love them all

Re: MAC - In the Groove Discussion

I experienced the same problem w/ITG mes as well. I returned it and picked up something else.

I really loved the shades - the avocado green was interesting but it didn't work for me - wet or dry - over p/p, paint or shadestick.
