I didn't put everything I wanted on hold either. I might go back the counter this weekend to do more swatches again. As long as I pick it all up before noon, I should be good. Only problem is I'm working that morning. Boo! Gonna have to figure something out. I'm wondering if I should just order online on the 27/28th. It's a bummer I won't be able to play with anything right away, but if I have to work, at least I won't miss out on anything.

I haven't gotten to see/swatch anything, but I'll probably call back anyway.

Online can be really stressful, though. Especially when something is hyped and you don't know what time they're going to put it online. I usually order online, too, since I'm always busy, but for this collection, the idea just freaked me out too much.

Exactly! That's what I'm afraid of. I keep thinking what if I finally go to online checkout, enter all my card info, hit enter, then all of a sudden my order confirmation won't load coz it's total chaos. I'm almost tempted to go into work a little late that day. Like you said in a previous post, it is just makeup. But I still want it bad though!

I hear ya! Online is my only option as the MAC stores are an hour away and I dont drive. Work has been so slow lately, I cant barely pay my bills right now. So I'm probably going to have to wait till it goes onto the Macys website and use my macys card. And I'm SO SCARED the stuff I want will be gone by then. Damn you economy!

My list keeps changing! lol I think I'm going to skip bad fairy. I was so excited for it but nailpolishes arnt exactly top priority. And will prob just get the dupe eventually. She who dares mes and Resort life l/gl are branded into my list
Still floating around about gettting OSF or BR beauty powder. I'm starting to wonder if I really need/want one. I've never been a blush person but I'm starting to love them. I already own one blush one mes blush and two MSF's. So
After "postfedding vampire lips" is making my want DD! lol is that silly? esp since im NC20?
Revenge is sweet l/g has crept on my list.
Truth and Light has now jumped on my maybe list. I need a finishing powder. I dont own one yet. But are the cool powders made to be a finishing powder or something to give it a dewy look?

Hilarious! It's funny coz I can't stand dolls, but I do like and collect Japanese Hakata clay figures. I really love the ones that look like kids. They're just too cute:

Toxic Tale resumes place on list...

Someone tell me what a pale, black-haired, blue-eyed girl can ignore in this collection, because I'm not having any luck...

So far:

Lipsticks: Heartless, Toxic Tale, Dark Deed
Lipglass: Wicked Ways, Revenge is Sweet, Wrong Spell (I'm thinking SP isn't special enough to warrant a purchase, considering I already have a half a dozen peachy- coral- pink glosses.)
Eye Shadow: vainglorious, Vile Violet, She Who Dares (maybe My Dark Magic as well, although I have Young Punk already)
Blush: Bite of an Apple
Beauty Powder: Briar Rose and EITHER Oh So Fair OR Her Own Devices (NOT both)
Nail Polish: Mean & Green
Greasepaint Stick: French Quarter (if it's different enough from Dirty)
MCLP: Truth & Light

Ugh. That's a huge list. Help me cut it down, ladies, please.

It is just makeup, but and I will be so sad if I can't get what I want!!! Honestly, with this collection, I think it's safest to reserve. If you have to stay up all night waiting for it to go online, you'll probably miss more work than if you just reserved.

Yeah- I need the same thing except brown eyes. (yes- i got rid of the purple hair )

Lipstick: Heartless, Dark Deed
Lipglass: Wrong Spell, Revenge is Sweet, Wicked Ways, Strange Potion
Nail Polish: Mean and Green
Blush: Bite of an Apple
Greasepaint Stick: French Quarter
MCLP: Truth and Light
BP: Briar Rose, Her Own Devices

Our lists are pretty similar, but these are just the things I'm on the fence about since I already reserved the MES and OSF. Will also be getting Slick Back since it is a staple.

But, of these things, what would you guys reserve right away for NW15, black hair, brown eyes? I need help!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I saw this collection today and absolutely loved it! I was very picky with my list because money is tight right now. My MA was like, "Who are you?"...lol. Anyway, I reserved: Wicked Ways l/g, Toxic Tale l/s, Strange Potion l/g, Bite of An Apple Blush, She Who Dares m/e, Revenge is Sweet l/g, and Cajun Magical Cooling Powder.

My favorites are: Wicked Ways, Bite of An Apple, She Who Dares, and Revenge is Sweet. IMO, RiS looks nothing like Sweet Strawberry (which I love and have a back-up of). If more funds become available, I WILL be backing up RiS. I have Violetta already and I feel this is the perfect l/g to tone it down a bit or to wear alone. I really like Heartless but I have to be honest w/ myself and I am more of a l/g person than l/s. Plus, I have Ruby Woo, Cockney, and another red l/s that I rarely wear. Bite of An Apple is absolutely gorgeous and a MUST have! She Who Dares is and I feel good getting this since I passed on Blue Flame last year. The pink/purple is nice but I feel it is redundant to my collection as I already have Young Punk and Later p/g. I also wish MAC had done maybe a Red/purple or Orange/Purple because the pink/purple are nearly indistinguishable.

The Cooling Powders surprised me because they are shimmery. I don't see how these can be used as a finishing powder. Truth and Light was too light for my complexion, but I probably could have used it as a eyebrow highlight or cheek highlight. I didn't get that because the shimmer was like champagne/green and looked just like my Universal Mix Pigment on my hand. Cajun was also too light for my NC45 complexion to use as a finishing powder but I do think it wall make a nice, natural highlight.

Now...the funny part. I don't know if I should be worried about the Cooling Powders or think of it as a fluke. While I was talking to my MA, one of the other MAs poured out some of the Cooling Powders to use to highlight and contour her face. As soon as she placed the brush with Cajun on her face to contour, the powder erased her full face of makeup. It was totally splotchy...she said it was Studio Tech and I don't know about the wear time of ST, but she was totally pissed as she had to redo her foundation. I guess I will take solace in the fact that I rarely wear a full face of makeup.

Lastly, for those going to parties/unveilings, I suggest you have your "definite" list ready to go as soon as you hit the door and only play around/swatch your maybe's. The hype surrounding this is insane and it doesn't help that MAC seems to have sent email invites to almost any and every customer in an area that ever bought MAC online. My Dillard's counter already pre-sold a lot of things and were already sold out of all of the nail polishes. I will pick up Bad Fairy when I go to the unveiling, which is at my freestanding store.

Sorry so long and HTH!

You're making me anxious about Dillard's selling out. I need to make a definite list and fast so that I can reserve more!

If you live close enough to your counter you may want to go in. My MA called and they had already made all of the testers and put them into bags. Thus, I was free to swatch away. I still only did hand swatches though, so I'll have to wait and see the lippies when I buy them. I know I'll love the lipglasses...I'm just kinda leery about Toxic Tale because it is bright! But...I think when I blot it down and add Strange Potion it will be

My counter hasn't gotten their stock yet, actually. But, I will keep calling every few days to check. Swatches will be my best bet!

What would you compare Strange Potion to? I'm really on the fence.... Also, if you have any thoughts on Wrong Spell, I'm all ears. I know I'm going to love the lipglasses, too.

I am not as familiar with MACs PERM line as I have been riding the LE train since Blond, Brunette, Redhead 2009 But, from what I have in my collection, Strange Potion looks a little like a shimmery Sock Hop (another LE) l/g. I haven't seen anything similar in the perm line and I am mainly getting it to pair with Toxic Tale. Unfortunately, I can't really give an opinion on Wrong Spell b/c I was trying to keep "tunnel vision." It didn't strike me in any of the initial swatches and was never on my list so I refused to look at it. My MA was trying to get me to look at the eyeshadows and Hot House but I kept telling myself that the e/s are dupeable and Hot House looks just like my Magnetique...you know...See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil.

I will be backing up RIS one too. BEAUTIFUL! I feel you on the l/g over l/s. That's me, so Wicked Ways it is. Heartless is pretty, but I just love glosses! She Who Dares has crept back on my list. Who am I kidding? I just love deep blues like this. Glad the green part is small cause I am hauling it for the blue. Its going to look good with De-vil. Passing on the Magic powder for new Prolongwear, which I love. I rather spend the money there.

Yup, its going to pay to have a list. If you know what you want, have them pull it, buy it and swatch later. MAC is going to make so much money on this. *fingers crossed* maybe they will hook us up with a F&F next year sometime.... *sigh* just some wishful thinking!

Thankfully, I was able to swatch everything I was on the fence about. I was loving Toxic Tale and Heartless, but was a little disappointed (and somewhat relieved!) by both. Toxic Tale was a little too bright for me. I also crossed Heartless off the list. It's a gorgeous cherry red, but I prefer Brave Red. I only use a handful of lipglasses, so I'm glad those didn't call out to me!

Hmm lets see.... I'd say Vile Violet is not that amazing. And can be duped pretty easily. I have young punk too and thats why I'm passing on MDM so i'd def say that if you have YP pass on MDM...I'm pale with dark hair too and Toxic Tale just looks bleh to me...Heartless, its a so-so red to me. There are better reds out there IMHO.... I'd say wrong spell but it will look great over Heartless if you choose that, I have cherry electric to put over my red lipsticks.
No offence to anyone getting these products. Just tryin to help Katred out Keep in mind things are diff for everybody.

Reading this thread is giving me some extra hope -- looks like I'll be able to get all the Sinister tubes I could ever use, knock on wood!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I've revised the list a little.

Lipstick: Heartless, Dark Deed
Lipglass: Strange Potion, Wrong Spell, Revenge is Sweet, Wicked Ways
Nail Polish: Mean and Green
GPS: Slick Black
MES: My Dark Magic (I have a zillion dupes but can't pass it), She Who Dares
BP: Oh So Fair, Briar Rose

I'm skipping the MCLP because I know I won't use it and same goes for Bite of an Apple. I would be buying these for the hype, and I'm glad I'm admitting that to myself.

French Quarter also looks too glittery for me to like it as a base or eyeliner, so that's a pass.

Her Own Devices will either be too dark or too shimmery for my taste, and I can already tell. I think I wanted it for the compact which makes no sense since I hate Cruella.

I think this is more reasonable, but I still want opinions, if anyone thinks these are passable or not good for my skin tone.

On the fence about a l/s. Which do you prefer- Violetta or Up the Amp? I already have Up the Amp. Violetta is such a fun color, but I'm debating on whether or not I should get it. I suppose it would be easier to reserve it because I can always return it later on. I just want to make sure I budget accordingly since I already have such a long list. Thanks!

Great list and probably the best birthday presents ever!

I really do need to call again. I'm just pretty shy over the phone, and I feel like I'd come off as annoying by calling again (this would be the third time since mid-august). I need to get over it, tho, because vv is definitely worth it!
