as much a i love chez chez lame highlight powder i found that it faded quite quickly on me today. after about 3 hours i couldnt see it anymore :( and seeing as i never have time to touch up my make up during the working day this isnt ideal :( maybe i should use pearl as a base and add the powder on top to make it last longer.

I wonder what's up - it lasts on me all day applied over bare skin. (I moisturize like a maniac beforehand though - plus wait a while after moisturizing before applying.)

liba.. thanks for the lovely postsfriends.gif it's always heartwarming to get some recog for work done.  How do you moisturize like a maniac.. and what do you use?  I don't have any problems with recc the PIP tho... that is a sweet powder.. these, I had major issues with..

I haven't had any issues with Chez Chez Lame either. I'm actually really happy with this highlighter. I just do my regular makeup routine (an oily-reducing moisturizer, concealer, Studio Fix Fluid foundation, creme bronzer and blot powder- wow that seems like a lot when i type it out) and I let everything dry completely between stages (which isn't any time at all if you use very thin layers) and then apply my blush and then finally I pat on CCL on top and blend a little with my fingers. I'm using a patting technique with everything in this collection.

I had this issued as well with my Rose Ole. I was so excited because I could actually use this as a blush, but it seemed to need reapplying, which I just don't have the time or desire to do.

I am on the oily side, so that is part of it I'm sure, but still. Oddly, I didn't have this problem with Play it Proper from Stylishly Yours, so maybe it is this new "Special Reserve" formula.

I'd say get Soiree, it's my fav thing out of this coll! And the lipgelees, but thats just cause I love sparkly lips hehe

I'm still deciding if I should get Soiree though! I swatched it at the store, came home and compared it to Orly's Rage and they are similar at first glance... but if you scrutinise it properly, Soiree is more bronze and stands out better on my skin tone! Ah, decisions decisions!

I still gotta decide whether or not I want Calm Mode! Eep.

I use a Clairsonic with the amazing Rodial active cleanser, then the even more amazing Rodial serum + the extra stupendously amazing Rodial glamoxy serum in the danger zones. Let all that sink in then back to my Clarins (currently the eye cream from the hydrating line and the day cream from the old lady extra power line). I've been a faithful Clarins user for over 10 years now, but when everything's used up I'm probably going to spring for moisturizers from Rodial, because that brand seems to have tapped into some sort of high tech fountain of youth. Super retardedly expensive, but while I can be a little cheap with cosmetics, I'm willing to spend whatever to maintain beautiful skin for as long as I can before it all crumples in a dusty pile. tumbleweed.gif

I skipped the beauty powders since Truth & Light MCP is perfect for me - and I have plenty of Oh So Fair, for my retro 40's glam needs. Chez Chez Lame I did go for, though, because I wanted something that had an extra slick, shiny wet look to it (I use it dry, but more often with Fix+ for that extreme look I was craving) then have stuck around with it because I'm liking the neutral white highlight it has.

Lastly, I'm always good for some compliments to you, because it's very obvious you are a smart, sophisticated cookie who knows how to work it, whatever you choose "it" to be. So what's not to compliment, nu?topclosed.gif

yeah it is quite weird. usually i dont have issues with staying power. i do the same moisturizer routine as you. but i applied my foundation, then translucent powder where needed and then i used chez chez lame. maybe i should try it befire i powder?

I got the quad and the two nail polishes, and I am completely in love with them all. The colours of the quad are just so well coordinated, and works amazing. I loove Caviar Dreams, amazing colour.

My favorite of the nail polishes is bar far Vary Important Platinum. I have no idea what has happendes to Temptalia and her swatches, where she gets it streaky. On me it was so easy to apply and it looks great. Love it!

Putting it on before the powder sounds worth trying. Also if you haven't tried it with Fix+, that looks super sexy. I don't know if the pan can handle a wet brush, so I just load up first then spray my brush and then apply.

Also I don't care for using duo fiber brushes with it - the standard old 129 gets it on the best, imo.

I don't think I've actually used it with foundation yet. Foundation is usually just a special occasion thing for me and I bust out the Truth & Light with it. I will say that if they brought out a MCLP that had a neutral white highlight like Chez Chez Lame, Chez Chez Lame would get relegated to touch up duty in my purse. icon_bump.gif

I finally went to check out this collection in store yesterday, and I bought Dangerous Cuvee, which I've been waiting for for months. I'm so disappointed :(  When I tried wearing it today, it looks like patchy glitter.  I had to take it off and start over with something else.  Any tips for working with this paint pot?

I got to check out the collection in person - yay!!  I wish I got Chilled on Ice instead of Let Me Pop! now - it looks exactly what I wish Bare Study would look on me.  Also, it's uber creamy... and so is the Bare Study tester the counter had out.  I originally didn't want COI b/c my BS was so dry when I first got it in comparison to these ones but I thought it was just how it should be.  I'm contemplating sending LMP back....but then what to get instead?  Peacocky, perhaps... those kiddable glosses have such amazing texture!

And as pretty as Rose Ole is, I'm glad I didn't get it.  It is quite similar to By Candlelight.  Thanks to all who put in their 2 cents to hold me back!

Hello all! I realize I've been MIA on the boards for a couple of months now. Haha. Anyway I'm here to share my purchase with you guys! :D

I hauled:

- Dangerous Curvee p/p

- Let Me Pop p/p

- Chill On Ice p/p

- Soiree n/l

- I Get No Kick e/l

I don't know if I should get Vintage Vixen p/p, because despite swatching it multiple times, it still feels pretty meh to me. The formula for these p/p are absolutely lovely though - so creamy and smooth! thmbup.gif

I had originally wanted to get the quad, but after swatching, I felt that it was passable. The only 2 colors that really stood out to me were Brule and Retrospeck, and those are perm! Hehe. I'll rather get them separately and save me some money then.

The lipgelees had SO much glitter in them! Not my kinda thing. But I thought Bubble Lounge and Luxure were really pretty. Too bad I'm not a fan of squeeze-tube lipglosses!

The special reserve highlight powders were so pretty! Both of them! :nods: But I passed on Rose Ole because it's similar to By Candlelight. Chez Chez Lame reminded me a little of Shimpagne - any comparisons between the 2 yet? Hearing Lou say it fades quickly on oily skin is a concern to me though. And I'm not a fan of the textured surface - remember the Rose Romance beauty powders? Yeah... I wish MAC would re-release them as a normal looking highlight powders.

The lipsticks were pretty unimpressive, and the lip conditioner barely had any color tinge to it. They were a pass for me.

Did anyone else find the Face Charts for this collection?  MAC"s site doesn't have any of them!  At Macys tonight I saw them in the book and wondered if anyone knew where I can find them online?  TIA:)

I picked up

Dangerous Cuvee - p/p

Chez Chez Lame - h/l

Soiree - n/l

Chromographic Pencil NC15/NW20

I haven't tried them yet as I am making myself wait until I have lost half a stone before I play with them. Weight loss and make-up buying is a great reward hehe! I've heard a lot of mixed things about Chez Chez Lame so willl see if I like it or not! :D

I ended up getting the Caviar Dreams quad, Feline, and I Get No Kick eye kohl. I think the IGNK eye kohl was really the star of this collection. It is absolutely PERFECT in the waterline; not harsh at all and that little bit of shimmer makes it mmmm mmm mm drools.gif I couldn't not get the Caviar Dreams quad--I'm a newbie so I didn't already own Brule or Retrospeck. I saw this quad as an easy way to get 2 perm shadows with 2 pretty LE ones as a perk. Depotting the new quads is hell though. The only complaint I have with the quad is the color payoff/fallout but that's what you get with lustre shadows

As for feline, I didn't find it to be as amazing as everyone says it is but I will say it's a greeat smudgy liner, even better than my Slick Black GPS. NOTHING stays on my waterline so I end up setting it with some carbon but I use feline on my outer corner and smudge it with a 219 brush and it's love. I'm SO bummed IGNK eye kohl is sold out online and in my store. I wanted a back up but who knows if I'd ever even get to it so oh well, maybe its a sign =P

I have been wearing it underneath purples... it looks awesome under Parfait Amour and Nocturnelle (I did a smokey eye with these and carbon yesterday and used Dangerous Cuvee as a base).  It also looks amazing underneath the new Noir Plum shadow from Peacocky:)

Which creme bronzer do you use?

I just got my package delivered today! I got Vintage Selection paint pot from this collection and I can tell already that I'm going to love it. It's my first ever paint pot too!

My plan is to use this one as a quick and easy eye colour for work and put on some Dark Diversion fluidline with it!

Actually now that I'm thinking about it, would some kind person here recommend what kind of brush I should use to apply a paint pot? I don't mind if you use MAC numbers, I can look it up on the website and find my own version until I can afford some MAC brushes!

For the more "pigmented" paint pots or the ones that I use a just a base to even out my skintone (like Painterly) I love a MAC 217 brush or the little brushes that come w/ the Sigma sets as the free gift (they are short with a silver handle like a mini MAC 217:)

For some of these sheerer PP's that came in the Cham Pale colleciton, I have been using a flatter "Shader" brush like the MAC 242 or 249.  Sigma makes great versions of these as well:)  HTH!  Enjoy!

I'm thinking about getting the lighter colored highlighter (my freestanding MAC still has some).  I don't know.  And Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow is so much more glittery and brighter than I Get No Kick so I'm not sure who it was compared or said to be a dupe.  The colors are the same however, but when both applied, Midnight Cowboy and that fallout is annoying in the inner corner.  I bought I Get No Kick and might get a backup.  I like using it in my neutral looks and since I wear neutrals 5 days a week - I will need a backup of two or three.

About which brush to apply paint pots,

I ditto the cheapy brushes that come in palettes, or the 249 to apply paint pots.

The mini brushes that come in the mac palettes,

 Or my finger.

^I agree- finger works great for applying PP too:)  I used to use my finger too when I had short nails... but now that I grew my nails long it's annoying when the makeup gets under them LOL

Blahhh. I don't think I'm very happy with I Get No Kicks. I'm so fair that it barley shows up on me. :( I've been pairing it with Vintage Selection for a day look (I don't like to use a lot of dark eyeliner during the day) and I've tried putting it on my lower lashline and it makes absolutely no difference.

I might return it, or put it up for swap. Blahh.
