that does look like retrospeck. not seeing the brown as being satin taupe, though.. it is in a similar shade family but the tone is a little warmer than satin taupe. i don't quite understand why the quad is called "caviar dreams", when i think caviar i think of rich blackened greens and antique golds.. basically the burmese beauty quad with better color payoff.

just saying. it looks pretty though, looks like it'll sell out simply based on the fact that it's 4 neutrals you can carry around in your makeup bag for a basic eye look everyday. that quad and a brush set from a tartan tale? done.

It's not Satin Taupe, that color is called Caviar Dreams.
As for why they would call it that - it's a play on the phrase "champagne wishes and caviar dreams" from the TV show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, to tie in with the champagne theme of the collection.

I've gone back to just wanting Feline, I think. The more I look at the quad, the more I'd rather use that money on a different collection.

Of course, this will change when we get the whole color story and swatches.

usually i am pretty good and make a list just based on the colour story. swatches just back up that i made good choices! however with vv everything on my original list changed!!

I'm getting really excited for that quad now. I went to MAC today and one of the MA's recommended Retrospeck to me and I told her about how I heard of the Caviar Dreams quad coming out.. She said she hasn't even heard about it, but then again she could be saying that. Either way shes a sweetheart!

Annnnd I think im the only one here excited to get Retrospeck.. watch I buy it and hate it like everyone else haha. Atleast I tried it!

yeah i think it was just wishful thinking about getting msfs. perhaps we will be waiting until next june/july for the mineral collection for some!

Same for me. I love MSF's and find them utterly beautiful. At first i hated petticoat as it looked so dark red when swatched, but with a duo fibre brush it comes out this beautiful irridecent pink. Other than Soft and Gentle and By Candlelight, I need to increase my collection!!

I bought Lightscapade and it took me forever to buy a second one, because I was convinced they were just bronzers by another name (so much gold and copper veining). Once I started buying more, however, I turned into a complete addict. I adore these now and have a whole collection of them. I wear one pretty much every day, whether as a highlighter or as a blush itself. Pretty much any time there's a collection that has MSFs, I end up grabbing at least one.

It would be nice to think that we would get a couple of new ones with the post-holiday collections. After all, we got a couple with Warm & Cozy last year.

Yes. I could definitely use some pigmented peaches, pinks, champagnes, beige, golds, silvers, white, cream and off whites and all variations of gray from matte black to silvery shimmery white (and I can think of at least 35 variations) Like the UDPP neutrals palette colors only MAC quality (starflash, veluxe or VP finish would be nice)

oh - i definitely missed when someone posted the color names. i didn't read every post, just the ones a few pages back, and wanted to put in my two cents. haha. but at least i wasn't like, "oh that is TOTALLY satin taupe." then i would have been REALLY wrong

but thank you for the information on why the quad is called caviar dreams, unless i missed where someone posted that as well.

I'm really looking forward to the champagne eye kohl. I've been waiting for a shimmery version of the NC15 chromagraphic pencil, sometimes that looks too flat on my waterline. A pearly version would be great.

The crinkly powder looks interesting too, hope it's much softer and smoother than the Rose Romance powders.

Joining in the disappointment that there appears to be no MSFs in this collection. I always hope against hope about seeing Lightscaped in the post-Christmas collection, since it's always so cool-toned. I have two of them, but I know so many people want to get one and missed out! I'd also love to see a similar light and cool MSF one day... *le sigh*

I don't think there was any in Chill but i'm pretty sure there was one or two in Warm & Cozy and i think those collections were released together. I think Dame Edna came out in January or Febuary since it was the icon collection and no MSF's there either, i think just beauty powders.
