elegant - Congrats on having a fab foyer now! Hope the lipsticks are up soon so you don't have to keep checking the site. :)

katred - La Sensuelle is stunning on you! Lipsticks last about the same time on me, and I don't mind touching up because I'm always drinking or eating something. The RAVs fade nicely, no funny rings which happens with some lipsticks and I strongly dislike that.

Elegant - so glad your foyer is finished and done to your liking!!  Congrats!!

Kate, how beautiful you look!!  Nothing new there, but that's a fabulous combo on you.  I'm happy to hear you like the feel of the velvets - I'm anxiously waiting to try them on my always-dry lips.

Michelle, that's a cute story - everybody laughs at me because I have lip balm everywhere in the house - and usually at least 2 in my purse!!  I'm excited for the Baumes too - hope they live up to our expectations!

Cheryl -- lol -- you are just like me with the lip balm!  I cannot stand the feeling of dry lips.  And my girls are the same -- a gazillion lip balms in their little purses at all times!  I'm so interested in seeing what the Baumes swatch like . . . 

My Macys has the Velvets today I probably won't go until tomorrow though because its an hour away & the weather is supposed to be warmer. I'm a wuss when it comes to cold weather. Our son is in NY on business for a few days & I just heard they may get 3-5 inches of snow I'll guarnetee he didn't pack for that

Ooohhh elegant...you must be so excited about the chandelier!  Looking forward to your report on the Velvets whenever you go. My dad lives in NY and is not happy about the early snow either. I called my Macys and Nordstrom and as usual...nothing there!

We've got about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground and no power at the moment.  Not happy.  Thank goodness for generators. What the heck is up with this weather?!

I ordered Enivree, Famous and Empire today as part of my pre-sell. Just couldn't resist. I don't know if I will keep Famous, as I'm picky about reds, but we'll see.

Elegant -- oh my word, as I was typing your name, I typed "Velvet" instead LOL (maybe that can be your new nickname??)  -- lucky girl to go get the Velvets.  Let us know which ones you pick up!!  And how is the crazy Chanel lady doing??  (You have to get the La Elegante velvet)

I don't like cold weather either, blah.  I am wearing my cute wedge sandals with jeans for as long as possible . . . 

Gail -- great swatches!  Eeeks, I want so many . . . I wonder if La Distinguee would be too peachy on me??  I really want La Caline, La Rafinee and La Furtive.  La Elegante looks so gorgeous in those swatches too.  I'm in trouble.

Cheryl -- you didn't last long without Enivree!  I wore Pink Peony glossimer on top of Enivree today and it is so pretty (more Spring like than Fall, but who cares, right?).  Hope you are loving everything.  I hope you get power soon -- no fun.

I went back to Anthropologie today . . . yes, I got more monogrammed mugs  (for teacher gifts).  I got a super cute vase for my new bookshelf.  That was pretty much the extent of my shopping today . . .

Gail -- sorry, when I posted "hope you get better soon" as a comment on your post, I meant it for a different post.  You probably think I am crazy :)

I did some hand swatches of Sensuelle.. and have decided to stay away from the reds. Not because I don't like them.. they are gorgeous with the same exquisite texture.. it's just that now, with a full head of grey hair, I either do pinks/rose/fuschia/berries or nudes.. and it works with my hair and complexion.

if I do a red, it's a Dior Ara Red type.. really red/ r-o ...or any red on top of a Vamp to get a deep dark red burgundy lip.

Aw... Sorry you decided to pass. Sensuelle is a red with a capital RED, though. It's funny, because when I saw it in the tube, I thought it would be more brown. It's definitely a warmer red, but I think it's a shade that I can get away with. (Colours that are too brown tend to age me. I don't need the help.)

^ I have the other 5 Velvets, which I am in love with  Maybe my chemistry was off today.. lol.  Wine at lunch might do it to me

Michelle - LOL so funny. I like Elegant Velvet I can't believe (yes I can) you went back for more mugs. They're adorable & I looked at them again last weekend too. I am definitely getting La Elegante! That one & Distinguee should be coming soon from Singapore. I am SOOOO mad  & bummed out that I missed my delivery of the Brompton Blush today!!! NOOO Can you hear me crying out loud! I have to sign for them. Aghhhh I actually called the Post Office to see if I could run down & get it which they have done for me before, but no one answered. I am  praying that its in one piece. Anyhow, the crazy chanel lady answered the phone with this really crazy weird hello when she knew it was me Who knows what I'll come home with.

Shypo - I feel so bad for you - stinking bad weather. My DIL & I are both worried about our son. We're hoping that he will be able to leave NY tomorrow. He said he had to buy long johns & another umbrella because his first one broke. I hate bad weather.

Ahh, you have to sign for it & we left to go shopping - at LOWES!!!!  (so I missed the mailman) to buy new doorknobs geesh. I didn't think it would get here that fast.

No seriously, the mugs are worth it. I love looking at the pink roses on mine. It sits on my work desk. You know what else I get hooked on looking at Anthro - their knobs/drawer pulls - yes I do Thanks on the well wishes for my son - I am such a terrible worry mom.

Hey ladies! 

It's been waaay to long, but I've been trying to avoid coming on here too much so I don't get any ideas, lol!  I've been so very very good lately, even DH is proud!  I did get one MAC l/s from the glitter and ice collection, Whirls and Twirls (I think that's the name).  Otherwise, I have been focusing on getting things for the house, slowly.  I just picked up a duvet insert from PB to go into the duvet cover I had picked up while down in Virginia, just in time for the colder weather (although no snow in our forecast in the near future!). 

Elegant, I'm glad you're finally going to get to see the velvets.  Congrats on finishing the foyer.  It's such a great feeling when things get done. 

Michelle, you sound so organized, already picking up gifts for the teachers! 

I have yet to use my one and only RA velvet, I came across it today still in its bag when I was cleaning (rather purging) in my bathroom!  I got rid of cleansers and body lotions that I haven't used in over a year, that somehow survived the move!  I can't even remember the name of the RAV that I picked out, will have to try it this week! 

I hope all of you are doing well these days.  I feel kinda sad that I can't come on here more, because I do miss hearing from all of you.

Yes, to the drawer pulls.  I want to get some of the clear ones for our dresser in our master.  And the adorable aprons -- I have a little collection and they are too cute to use.  All of the home stuff is adorable.

Nora -- glad you are back -- we missed you!  How do you like Whirls and Twirls?  I haven't been to my MAC counter yet.  I want the snowglobe powder and one lipstick.  I think the white packaging is cute.  

I decided to start a little early this year with picking up things here and there for Christmas.  But I'm not all that organized LOL!

Ooh, the duvet covers from PB are lovely! Its fun & exciting to redo update get things for the house. I am very happy to be done painting the foyer. I used the Restoration Hardware paint for the first time - It has what they called a VELVET finish. How appropriate for this thread. The paint finish is very elegant velvet :)

I think all of us love hanging out here together as much as the mu chatter. What velvet color did you get? I bought the Whirls & Twirls ls too. I can't decide if I like it or not yet.

Glitter and Ice is out at my counters. I want the brush set! I felt the 187SE and it was soft and dense, much better quality than the previous years'. The bag is not attractive though. I like one of the kits too, the one with 3 brushes, a quad, a blush and a lipstick or gloss. Didn't buy it though, I want to be more selective.

Nora - Hi! Enjoy your Twirls and Whirls! I saw the collection but I can't remember what it looks like. Hope you wear your new RAV soon!

Elegant, I have La Distinguee RAV, the rest were all too dark for me.  I haven't tried Whirls and Twirls yet.  Do you find it too icy looking on?  I was hoping it would be fairly sheer on, so my lip colour can show through.

You'll have to report on how you like the paint, in terms of wear and cleaning over time.  I'm pretty sure I'll be pushing to repaint the main part of our house in a few more years, even though we did have it painted when it was built. 

Michelle, I'm pretty sure it was the white packaging that got me to even look at the MAC lipsticks! 

Hi MissQQ!  Hope things are well on your end! 

Apart from that, we haven't had much else going on here.  I did end up having to arrange to replace the Pirouette window coverings we had purchased in the spring with shutters.  We had issues with half of them, which I'm told is rare, but after having one window replaced, we noticed a slight difference in the colour of the fabric.  I was really upset after having spent as much as we did.  I had several conversations with the customer service dept. where we had purchased them, and in the end, they finally agreed to let us pick out something else instead of replacing the defective units and reimburse the difference.  So we went with shutters.  Not what I originally wanted, but I like them, and they go with everything, so there we are!
