Chanel lipsticks - Rouge Coco, Rouge Allure, etc. - Page 94

So I was poking around online looking for info on the new Rouge Allures coming out this fall and found this on La Chanelphile (first breakdown on January Jones' look). Looks like there's a new coral-orange shade coming out named Enjouee. On her it looks pretty close to Exotic. Maybe Enjouee is Exotic's replacement? Then again, re-reading the article it's apparently a matte...but there's already La Ravissante for matte corals. Weird.

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed looking at all of those breakdowns. Don't know what the deal is with the lipstick but I see they used the upcoming Beige polish on several of them. I wonder if that lipstick is really a new RA Velvet?

I enjoyed looking at the looks too! What is the colour of the new Illusion d'ombre? It looks gold. The lipstick looks matte to me too, and I thought it's a Velvet.

Culte, Avant-Garde and Magnolia are up on Neiman Marcus and Saks if anyone wants to order.smiles.gif

Absolutely. I don't buy quads here because of the formula. I'm surprised they do this, because the singles and duos are so lovely.

katred - Hi! I left some posts at the Armani thread - I bought the lipstick and I like it! It's texture gets stickier and drier after a while on the lips, but it doesn't feel drying. Like a much better Rouge Allure Velvet on me.

YAY! I'm so glad you like them. I haven't been on line much in the last little while, but I'm happy to see they've gained another fan.

There are exactly 5 RAs left on the US Chanel site!

o.O That's pretty crazy. I hope this RA relaunch is full of awesome, otherwise my RA money may be going to Kanebo Sensai and Tom Ford. Guerlain too, once I finally get around to trying a Rouge G.

How strange! They're all still there on the Canadian site. Of course, you can't order from the Canadian site, so I imagine that they're keeping them there because they're an accurate reflection of what you'll find in stores.

If anyone wants Magnolia, Culte or Avant-Garde you can get free shipping on Chanel.com with any purchase with the code 2012LOVE. I think it's good thru 5/31.

Yay, I can't wait to have Magnolia! I wish it was good through tomorrow, but that's okay.

I just used the code for the new Rouge Allure Velvet. I hope it looks good on me. Fingers crossed...

I took the plunge and ordered Teheran after a lot of debate. I got it today and I am so happy with it! It's beautiful. It's frosty, but it still works and it's perfect for Summer. eyelove.gif

Got my Avant-Garde today and I agree, although I still like Superstition too. Thanks for raving about it. th_worship.gif

Superstition is very nice I should say, it just doesn't look good on me..

Adding the link on the new RAs to this thread so it doesn't get lost:

Aaaah! Thank you Winthrop! I'm so glad they aren't getting rid of the RA formula. I wish there were some more nude/beiges though, I need a backup of Mythic.

Thanks for the link Gail!  I can't wait to see all of the new RA's!

Hopefully the pink beige is close to Mythic!

I think Gracile is less nude than Mythic from the colour swatch, but we never know until we see it in person. I commented in the fall thread on the new RAs, oops, but in short I'm excited to see the new colours!

Ahh crap. *waves bye-bye to her bank account*  ohboy.gif

Potential day 1 buy:

Exaltee - Intense fuschia

Inimitable - Intense pearly red (hope they fixed their shimmer shades so they're not as gritty)

Will need to see swatches:

Gracile - pink-beige

Rouge Noir - violine brown

Determinee - black-red

Would like, but need to see how it compares to RAs I already have:

Incandescente - Fire red (need to compare to Audace)

Coromandel - Orange-red (PLEASE be like the laque! Also need to compare to Audace.)

Palpitante - Raspberry red (Need to compare to Rouge Byzantine. Totally read this as Palpatine...give in to the dark side! <_<)

Enjouee - pink coral (need to compare to Hyde Park, Coquette, and Flamboyante)

Excentrique - intense apricot (need to compare to Exotic)

I thought Rouge Noir and Passion were already part of the line? Not sure about RN, but Passion is for certain a regular item up here in Canada.

EDIT: Rouge Noir is listed as a Rouge Coco shade. I'm sure there would be absolutely no possibility of confusion having two shades with the same name in two different formulas... blink.gif

Yes, we have Rouge Noir here as a Rouge Coco too. How bizarre. Not sure about Passion. I see MUA reviews of it by people in the US but I don't remember it myself. I think maybe it was discontinued awhile before this most recent purge of all but the 5 remaining ones.

I bought 2 rouge coco's at bloomingdales today. First was Culte. I went to the counter swatching every RC they had to see how things look on my skin and I chose that one first. It's gorgeous. The MUA said 'Oh, the new one'. I didn't even realize it was new. I know I've seen swatches, but I guess they did nothing for me online. It's unique to what I have. It's like my lip color, but deeper. Natural without being boring and making you go 'what's the point'. Love, love, love it.

The other RC I bought is Sari Dore. Now, I bought this online back when it came out and then returned it. For some reason, I thought it looked crazy on me. I tried it on today and loved it. It looks better on me than Teheran, so I don't know what I was thinking. th_crazy.gif

Very, very happy with my purchases. Don't ask me how many Chanel lippies I have. lol.gif

Chanel lipsticks are so easy to wear, esp. the Rouge Coco. When a woman wears a rouge Coco, she is never stared at. That's a good thing ! " Culte " is really pretty it has a soft finish, wearable on any occasion. " Sari Doré " well I just know the name, must be great too !

Ladies I am from Canada so I don't know. Where do you buy your Chanel? How much do the Rouge COCO and Shines cost?
In the states I mean!

I definitely have to get Culte. The first time I swatched it, I thought it just looked really brown and blah, but then I saw it in natural like and it was like holysheep.gif It's beautiful!! I can imagine it looks lovely with your colouring, Shontay.

I also get a little nervous thinking about how many Chanel lippies I have... More than any other brand except Mac and a lot of that is because I just have a much longer history of buying Mac.

If you guys love Culte, check out the new fall RC, (45) Caractere, it's gorgeous. It's lighter but in the same color family.

Do you think that it will be universally flattering or more for one type of skintone?

I think everyone could wear this color, you can deepen or lighten it with gloss and or lip pencil, here's a swatch,
