Chanel lipsticks - Rouge Coco, Rouge Allure, etc. - Page 95

Yes indeed it's the same family as " Destinée " or " Culte " but this pretty Coco makes me think of Vendanges from Nars even if the finish is very different.

A beautiful lipstick and a beautiful Fall collection, I won't resist very long I think !

Update:  I just ordered Culte and Avant-Garde.....and snagged a Lover (and my long-time hunted-for Frivole) from Strawberry......yippee!!!!

Destinée is pinker and brighter too. Culte is more a plum/soft violet lipstick. Both are great for pigmented lips I think.

OK, now I am wanting to check out Destinee.....judging from the Nordies site 'swatch' (which isn't a swatch at all) it looked quite dark - I may have to go see this in person......  

It's deep but not dark in fact. Goes very well with the Horizon blush and the Eclosion quad, it's really a spring lipstick ( but easily wearable during fall, winter or even summer ! ), it's just the most intense of all Spring lipsticks ( paradis, charme, superstition, chalys ) as April is the most intense nail polish from the collection. I own many items of Harmonie de Printemps, to me Destinée is not a dark lipstick but when I mean dark it's Prince Noir from M.A.C or Smoked Purple from M.A.C too.

I think I want both of those as well... And I already have Vendanges (BIG love there).

I was at a counter today and saw Culte but they didn't have Destinee. Your description of Culte is very accurate! I didn't try it on my lips though.

Destinée is very pretty on her! Surely it will look different on me though... I'm going to pay a visit to nice Chanel counter when they have the new ones arrive. Right now I'm so undecided.

I understand Cutemiauw, take your time and I am sure you'll choose the right colour. There are around 30 Coco , Destinée is pretty but maybe you'll find another shade, the JC blush " Plum Attraction " goes well with Destinée or Culte or another, Destinée also goes very well with Horizon blush or Benefit Hervana, that's what I love Chanel artistic direction, harmony in fact.

omg.. I do have that Plum attraction.. but it's a very heavily pigmented colour and takes a lot of skill to use.  I have only used it twice I think. I do like Culte, but is a plum a plum no matter what.. I have a few plums so this might not be good for me now.

FYI, I visited one of the local Chanel counters yesterday and the MUA there told me that they are indeed discontinuing ALL the Rouge Allures. Considering that we've only seen four new colours listed, that seems like an awful lot. I'm tempted to grab back-ups of the ones I really like while they're still available, since she told me they are just selling through whatever stock they have until Fall.

That's what I was told. Now, I should add that the MUAs are often giving conflicting or confusing information. For instance, they were told that the RALs were continuing. In fact, when many of them received their new planograms, there was no space for them- only in the largest counters can you still get them.

However, just logistically, they'd need to take a lot out to make room for 16 new lipsticks in the displays, so I would imagine a lot of them would be gone. Grab 'em while you can, ladies! I don't know whether to buy up the old ones or hold on for the new.

My goodness, that's a lot... I'm glad they'll be permanent. I suspect that when I see the reds, I'll realise that I have some similar already, but I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with Chanel reds.
