I finally came out of my comfort zone of neutral lip colors and got palpitante RA and framboise lipliner.  I really want to wear bolder colors and find my signature red, though palpitante is described as a raspberry red and is the safest red out of the bunch (looks different on almost everyone), I'm really happy the Chanel s/a tried it on me.  I really want to try and see if I feel comfortable (look good) with passion RA on, though palpitante is very lovely I'm still on the hunt for that signature red for me.

The pic.s didn't/doesn't capture/do justice for palpitante's true color, it looks almost fuchsia here, but in person it's more reddish blue.

Still thinking if I should get L'exuberante.

Definitely would look lovely on you :)  it's such a beautiful rosy/fuchsia pink color.

Oh that looks great! I'll probably get Extatique instead of Enjouee.

I tried again yesterday! Beautiful color, but I'm afraid I won't get to wear that often. Still deciding! :)

Thank you! Yeah, I think this suits me a lot more than Enjouee. I have Enjouee but will let go -- clashes too much with my skin tone. :( But it's oh so beautiful in the tube!

Enjouee is actually a lot more coral in person on me - oh so pretty but just not that flattering. :(

I got to swatch these babies finally in the Zurich airport, but unfortunately, they haven't shown up in any of the counters here yet. The texture feels really beautiful. Definitely interested in Inimitable, Pirate, Palpitante... the counter that had them on display didn't have Incandescente, which is the other one that fascinates me.

My favorite Nordstrom didn't have Exatatique and I tested Exaltee for a few hours and wasn't really impressed with the forumla. So I won't be getting any of these babies, I'll stick to YSL & Dior when it comes to lipsticks.

^ I've been thinking as well, whether to just get YSL RPC in Le Orange since Incandescente is the one I want, but I've been a huge fan of the RA's for years. Would you say that the old formula is better than the new ones?

Am I the only one who prefers the old RAs? I don't understand why Chanel discontinued the old formula. Plus, even if they did, couldnt they just have retained some of the shades, like maybe my favorite Insolente?

I can't really tell the difference, to be honest. Both are excellent for me. They should bring the old shades back, though for people who missed out.

I agree about the old shades. Since I'm late to the party, I've been hunting down the old RAs. Exotic is the latest one I got. I'd like to get an old RA in a purple shade, but I don't know what color that would be.

I don't know about a purple one, but I do love Exotic. My personal fave is Flamboyante. Excessive is another great one. I just love Chanel's RA's. Hell, all their lip products are great.

Just my 2 cents about lip primer: I never used to use the stuff. Didn't see the point. However, after trying Mac's Prep+Prime with some difficult Mac shades, I can't imagine going without it. It makes everything easier. Shades that were already easy become ridiculously easy and they last longer and look better while doing so. I even use it for gloss. I put primer on my eyes so why not on my lips.

I'm getting BUs of Flamboyante and Famous. P+P Lip has quickly become a makeup staple for me.

I personally like the old formula better nor do I really like the shade range of the new compared to the old. Chanel took a step back verses forward with this change but neither the old or new ranks higher than YSL to me. I'll stick to the glossimers when it comes to Chanel lip products.

You could try RAV in La Sensuelle though!

Thanks! I'll swatch it this weekend.

How does the new RA texture differs from the old? Are they creamier?

Hi MissQQ!  On me, the old formula had more gloss and sheen to it (kind of like the MAC Lustre formula).  The new formula does seem creamier.  It is more pigmented and leaves a stain on my lips, so it is more long wearing on me.  Sometimes I'll add a dab of gloss if I want a little more shine -- seems to do the trick.

FYI to any ladies in Toronto: I just called the counter at the Bay on the south side of the Eaton Centre and they say they're going to be launching the new Rouge Allures on September 24.

I think the new are very very smooth & soft & creamy. They feel great on the lips.

Thanks Elana, that really helps! I purchased one in the US on my trip there but was not sure about other colours, so it's great these are coming soon!

I have "Passion" number 14 from a year ago... Is Passion in the new formula still the same color?

This is Passion number 14

I agree about preserving the older shades. I think that the new ones are vibrant and lively looking, but they've lost out on some of the more subtle, everyday ones, I think. I adore Coquette, for instance. And Flamboyante is beautiful.

I went to the Chanel event Saturday and got my makeup done. It was nice. I picked up Déterminée and Palpitante. It was so crowded that I forgot to swatch La Sensuelle. I also got Black Pearl, Blue Satin and Rouge Carat nail polishes. The gift with purchase was only a little bag of samples.

Déterminée is very pretty. However, it's basically the same color as Caractère without the shimmer. Palpitante is more red on my lips than I expected, which is a good thing for me. Somehow I was expecting it to be more magenta in color with only hints of red. Probably because that's how it looked on my hand. I'm glad it's actually more red with a hint of magenta.

OK, so having met and carefully swatched these beauties, I've determined the ones I absolutely need are Pirate, Inimitable and Rouge Noir. That last one was kind of a surprise... I thought it would be too brown, but there's a lot of purple in it. I've dropped some hints that these might make fine birthday presents, but I'm not sure if they're getting through.

Lol, I'm not good at leaving hints and have to be more direct. I would have to be more like I want this, this and this for my birthday. It makes it easier for everyone involved.

You pick the strongest and best colours!I have pigmented lips so I wonder if RN will turn brown on me. I got swatched all three you want and Pirate is already in my list, while the other two are in my maybe list. My counter has Inimitable after all, the tester just arrived later than the rest. Inimitable swatches pink red, but with some warmth, maybe there are gold shimmers, on my hand. Not sure if my eyes are playing tricks. Anyway, I got a test card consisting of four colours, Gracile, Pirate, and I can't remember the other two. Can't wait to try them!
