Ooh I still want Black Pearl!  I almost bought it yesterday but I felt like I should get Frenzy and Vertigo first since they are limited edition.

Black Pearl is one of my favourites, but there is an Essie colour that's close if you'd rather save some money. Doesn't have quite the depth of BP. I haven't picked up Vertigo yet, but I'm planning on grabbing it soon. Thanks for reminding me it's LE- I'd forgotten that.

Are you sure Vertigo and Frenzy are LE? They don't show up that way on Chanel's website.

No, I'm not sure.  I thought I read it somewhere.  But then again Chanel changes things a lot.  I'm almost positive Holiday was supposed to be limited edition but it's listed as permanent on the site.  So who knows.

When T reviewed them they were billed as being new permanents.  The problem is that sometimes Chanel introduces new colors and other times does LE, like any other company fwiw.  Last fall, with the introduction of Quartz, Peridot, and Graphite only Quartz was billed as an addition so it is not that out of the ordinary to have confusion about what is LE and what is not LE.  I think April is permanent from this spring collection but the other two were not.. that sort of thing makes it hard to know what is going on sometimes.  Most companies, despite the LE vs new additions, come out with a LE collection or a expansion set but Chanel mixes it all up!

It's very confusing. I thought several shades were LE like Black Pearl, Holiday and some others. I also thought some shades were permanent until I found out that they're really LE, like June, Rouge Carat and Coromandel. I have to keep adjusting my list to account for the LE colors. But there are some permanent shades like Black Pearl that I just couldn't wait to get. I hope the other LE polishes that I like are still around later for me to get them.

Péridot is a LE edition in France, Rouge Carat too ( Holiday 2011 ), Black Pearl is very popular here so it's permanent ( so far I know ), Coromandel is permanent as the Rouge Allure Coromandel was launched a few weeks ago. But I don't know what's going on in the US, Chanel collections are different. We don't have the JC blush in Tumulte, we're going to have a LE mini collection 3 Rouges Allures matte and 3 nail polishes.

I played around with the different languages on the Chanel website after your post. I'm very surprised to see what's still available in other countries. Is anyone in Italy willing to do a CP for Nouvelle Vague? It looks like it's still available on the there. Please PM me.

I believe in most if not all other countries chanel.com is just for informational purposes, not online sales, so you may have to find someone who can get it for you at a counter in Italy (or wherever). Did you try MUA too?  I noticed there are a few up for swap on there.

Oh,OK. Thanks for the info. MUA is Makeup Alley right? I'm only a member of Spektra.

Yep, Makeup Alley. There are about 8 up for swap on there.

That's a shame. I don't think I can swap since I'm not a current swapper.

To become a swapper you just have to join and then follow the rules. Some people won't swap with those with less than 30 tokens but I'd be happy to help you in any way I can. PM me if you want to look into it. Also, did you already call Nordstrom, Neimans and Saks and ask them to do store searches for you? And if all else fails, Izzy's may get it in again:

She lists it as OOS but they really do get things in again even if they're OOS for a really long time. That's how I got my eyebrow pencil in a shade that's only sold in Asia anymore. It was OOS for 6 months to a year but she told me she'd eventually get it in again and she did.

you can usually swap even if you don't have a lot of feedback.  This is from somebody with only one swap after 6 yrs or so being registered but basically a review reader not a contributor.  If it is only available overseas you may be able to do a CP for somebody.  You will most likely have to send first and wait for it to arrive  even if  you can point to tons of feedback on other groups.  I know I did have to do that and I have a good 16 yrs of feedback on knit swap, bpal, ebay etc

Technically CPs are not allowed on MUA so unless you "know" someone you're writing to I wouldn't just write to a stranger and ask because they could report you & get you booted off there.  Someone who just joined and did that would be viewed very suspiciously by the recipient imo, or could get ripped off themselves.

Thank you both! I haven't contacted any department stores yet. I'm not sure why I didn't think to do that since that's how I found my Dragon. I'll do that today, and will also contact Izzy's. If nothing pans out, then I'll follow up with Makeup Alley. Thanks again ladies! hatsoff.gif

ah see as a general non swapper I didn't know,  I do know you cannot get a GC or offer $ but I didn't think that if somebody had something on their wishlist and I said hey I will send this to you it was bad....  I don't think I would say I will go buy you whatever you want but if they listed stuff on wishlist I knew I could get I would offer to swap them that stuff~~ is that wrong?

editing to add not trying to be difficult just curious actually since I honestly rarely swap

They list rules in several different places, and here is where it mentions CPs:

http://www.makeupalley.com/faq/

Q: What are the guidelines for what can and can't be posted in the swap section?

A: Prescription items are not allowed on MakeupAlley swap board Listing prices (selling, retail, reference, etc.) is not allowed ANYWHERE on the swap board including the Item Title Line, Item Description and Notepad. Links to selling on Ebay or any affiliate programs are not allowed. Swapping burned CDs/DVDs is not allowed. The Swap Board is ONLY for posting Swap items (not Custom Purchases, Other Arrangements or any other notices). Violators may be removed/suspended without notice.

They do say elsewhere that people may come to various agreements privately:

http://www.makeupalley.com/content/content.asp/s=1/c=Swap_FAQ/

Can I post a gift card in the swap section or ask for a gift card in my wish list? No. The swap section is not intended for selling. Posting a gift card is equivalent to offering cash and asking for a gift card in your wish list or in a swap item is equivalent to asking for cash. The swap section is intended for swapping items, not buying them. We understand that in certain situations individuals might come to work out a different agreement privately, and we leave that between the two parties, however we ask that the posted swap items, notepads, and wish lists respect the guidelines and the intention of the MUA swap section.

In my experience some people are open to such things and some are not, and I have read about people getting reported who proposed OA to someone who was not receptive to that.

To get back on topic...has anybody here gotten Sky Line? I keep going back and forth on what I think of it.

I'm confused by the limited edition status as well.  I was sure Peridot and Graphite were limited edition but they have been on the site forever as well as Mimosa.

All 3 of those are listed as LE on chanel.com, so I guess they just haven't sold out yet?

Peridot is not LE in Canada, it is still available at all counters (at least in my vicinity). There is a vast difference in what is LE for the US market and for Canada, not mentioning other countries. For instance, in Russia, they have more colours available, something not even listed on Chanel.com for the US. And it's not only about nail polishes, I noticed that they also have more Rouge Cocos, for instance. Did not check the rest of the makeup. They also have some interesting products in fragrances section which I never saw in Canada.

I have it. I think it's a very pretty color. It's a metallic icy blue.

I got Vendetta and Orange Fizz this weekend. Both are very beautiful shades, and I can't stop starring at my swatch of Vendetta. I think those were the last two on my immediate list to get. The problem is that I swatched Frenzy and Vertigo just for giggles. I'm surprised by how much I like them. I typically don't go for nail colors like these. They make me feel grown up.

I managed to track down a Kaleidoscope at a Saks last week and just received it. I couldn't believe it.  It is amaaazing!!  In my research I also ran across a great dupe. If anyone is interested here's the dupe:

Wow, lucky you, what a great find. I would have guessed that all Kaleidoscopes are gone by now.
Did you already try it out?

Yes, as soon as I got it! eyelove.gif

I am a huge fan of Chanel polishes (as you can probably tell from my profile pic)

I am desperate to get my hands on Taboo, does anyone know when it will finally be available in the UK?

Thanks in advance
