I'll try again
You guys make me laugh out loud to myself!!!
I bought a bunch of Fred. Fekkai hair products so I had to try a couple out.
Sooo, the hotel we stayed at has these tubes/skywalks that you can walk through that connect your hotel/shopping for the city blocks - cool! So I went to SAKs & was there for a long time swatching everything I could, chatting up a storm with everyone. So I'm talking with this tall beautiful gal who was looking at Sisley cosmetics, she's quiet almost borderline snobby in a way, and has a European accent - when I walked away, one of the Saks ladies comes up to me & says, do you know who that was? - I tell her that I have no idea who she was - she says, thats George Clooney's girlfriend! He is shooting a movie in the city where I was.
Nobody had Armani, or the Dior ls or the new Chanel foundation, but I did get samples of it to try. I did get my Coquett which is beautiful on - just like you guys said it was. I also bought 3 of those Clinique ( I never ever buy Clinique!) lip balm chubby pencils - I loved them! Cherry, watermelon & strawberry. They are pretty nice on the lips.
I spent some time in Tiffanys too.......
We had an awesome time! We were photographed for the local magazine with our son at his event. It was freakin crazy at the event - the building had like almost over max capacity people show up at our son's event - wow. It was soooo exciting!
Its so nice to come back & read your posts - awww!
haha - He's been all over the place chatting & meeting people.
yes...a necklace. But, the best thing was a Chanel belt! whoa is it sweet. I had to order my size though & they will ship it to me so I'll post pics whenever I get it.
How dangerous is it to have hubs napping & relaxing & being able to run through tubes all over the city shopping....ah
Cheryl -- I want to try out the La Mer powder -- sounds so nice!
I went to go get new foundation and concealer yesterday -- they were out of my shade. Grrrr.
Your post makes me want to go break out my Gesso -- I think I have used it once or twice. Also, now I want to go check out Sugarbomb and those Sephora exclusive Dior lippies!!
HG -- I love hearing the deets of your outings with the Dashing Argentine. I have a nephew doing missionary work in Mendoza right now. Small world!!
Keep us posted on your brunch -- and safe travels to you!

Sounds like you had so much fun. I'm sure the necklace and belt are stunning. Can't wait to see pics

^^ Glad you're back, Elegant, and glad to hear that it was a wonderful time for your family, and an exciting shopping excursion for you!! The belt and necklace I'm sure are stunning! And, I'm glad you're liking Coquette!
I just got my March Allure - there are Chanel product placements all over the place (Mimosa, one of the RC Shines, an RC called Venise - I don't remember that one, and a couple of others) - looks like they're dropping a lot of bucks for that. Very few of MAC at all.
I have been on the Sephora site snooping around - have a couple of the Clinique chubby gloss sticks in my cart (great minds think alike, don't they? We always seem to be on the same wavelength!!) - Strawberry and Fuller Fig, along with a Tarino Tarantino brush set that I may end up getting.....I love brushes.
At the moment I'm not having the video stuff going on, though sometimes I do have that issue - which means I typically have to get behind my company's VPN to keep that nonsense at bay....but I don't like to be 'visible' to them 24 hours a day......my thumb isn't working again though - it sends me to the 'Export Wiki' page. I have that happen from time to time as well. This site is extremely frustrating. We keep having the same issues over and over again, and nothing seems to get fixed. I'm sure they're working on it though......
Michelle, you would love the La Mer powder.....I hope you are able to get your foundation and concealer soon - which brand are you looking for? And let me know how you like breaking out your Gesso again -
HG, enjoy your brunch tomorrow and we'll all look forward to Chapter 3! Safe travels this week - we'll miss you!!
Cheryl -- did you get translucent La Mer powder? Or a color? I love the idea of a finely milled powder. I've been using a pressed powder with a big brush -- but it seems to get cakey by afternoon. I'll have to check out the La Mer website . . .
I went to the Lancome counter because I have heard fab things about the Teint Idole Fresh Wear foundation. My skin has been crazy oily lately (hormones??) and this foundation is supposed to be great for oily skin. So of course I get color matched and they were out of my shade. I'll probably just go pick it up from Sephora. I am always on the hunt for the perfect foundation!

A quick update:
- RE: Sugarbomb: I 'swirled' the colors together, really with just one swipe for each cheek, and a quick 'tap' for my nose and forehead. I'm really liking this stuff!
- MissQQ, the MUFE concealer is indeed Lift - it has the perfect consistency for me: not too cakey, not too creamy, not too thick, just the right amount of 'slip' and color. I don't really have undereye 'darkness', really just more 'shadow', if that makes sense. I find that anything with a heavier consistency just gets into my fine lines and really ends up looking like I have concealer there. Therefore up to this point, I've never really found something that works for me.
- I received my Rose Tourbillon while I was away - it is soooo pretty. It's brighter and rosier than Pink Explosion, and has the prettiest pink flecks in it! I will wear it tomorrow and report back on how it looks. I might even include a pic (gasp).
- The La Mer powder is very, very nice. Super soft, milled to perfection. It is what I had hoped - a more sophisticated version of BE's Feather Light Mineral Veil. As I said before, this pot will last me forever.
- And another couple of shout-outs from the archives....I mentioned a bit ago that I was headed to the CCO to pick up backups of Tissueweight - I absolutely LOVE this color! Not just the color, but the texture as well. The other shout goes to Gesso......I have discovered this wonderful shadow, and have been using it every day (the days I wear makeup) for about the last month. I love it on the inside third of my lid, blended up to the inner crease. I can't explain it, but it gives a nice, matte glow to the overall eye. I won't run out of either of these two shadows!!
- I should be receiving my Sephora order with the Dior lipsticks on Monday afternoon - can't wait!! I hope Joyeuse is right behind it!
Thanks! I want to go check out Sugarbomb again now, though I don't like the paper box packaging. I love the consistency of the MUFE lift concealer too, now I want to test it for 8 hrs to see if it creases or slides. Can't wait to hear about the dior l/s and Joyeuse!
La Mer counter is intimidating to me, as there is a fish tank there. lol. Does every La Mer counter have a fish tank? With real fish swimming inside? All the counters in my country have a beautiful tank lol. One day I'll try their products, I hope, as I always hear good things about them although they are pricey.

marajode, Bonitinha, Almus, C!, Winthrop ~~ I had a lovely time with the wildman from the South
I thank you all for your unwaivering faith in my ability to still look as if I ditched the toe tag.. lol.
I will call this Chapt 2 of my adventure... His name is Ramon. He is well bred and well educated as well as a being very savvy and having had a very well lived life.. aged 56 which is fine with me as I did inspect his teeth and he still has all his hair![]()
I mean, I really did check his teeth.... he was just hysterical.. but I am of course me, and will always be the same. He runs a large winery in Mendoza - Argentina and did in effect inherit the land from his father when he passed two decades ago and has converted said winery into a good business which he is still developing and growing. Formal education: Architect..educated in the US and England.
He knows zip about my business and that's a good thing... my business is nuts.. We have a lot in common and have become easy friends -- no benefits (yes I am looking at you ms Elegant) ..just friends. He invited me to dinner tonite too but I have been gathering my nuts like a good squirrell and gathering all that I will need for the trip on Monday.. so we will have brunch tomorrow and then say adieu until Chapt. 3
... He says he wants to really stay in touch.. I say ok, but no committments thank you very mucho... no way I am ready for this now.
p.s. he is a good dancer -- but not at my level !![]()
p.s. 2.. he is quite handsome, tanned, greyed longish hair, and lovely green eyes -- good shape, and nice long legs.
lol. Great that he has good teeth - he sounds like a fine specimen! Enjoy your brunch and we will miss you. Can't wait to hear about Chp 3!

haha - He's been all over the place chatting & meeting people.

HG, I absolutely agree with you. There are memorable moments, similar to what you're saying, which make the whole experience priceless!
I remember take my first attempt at driving on a small country road, with my American uncle next to me, and little cousins in the back. Oh my, that was something, me driving at the speed of 20 mph, my uncle having to keep me out of the ditch, and kids in the back cheering on. They said it was super scary, afterwards! Needless to say, I am still not driving a car, haha. I want to learn properly soon, though!
I must say, you really intrigue me! Your life sounds like anything, but boring! :) May I ask you what have you done your Masters in? I am working on my BA in English language and culture at the moment. I'm always very curious if people's education helps them to reach their ultimate goal--to have a job they really enjoy, like you seem to, HG :)

I too had that experience since I was sent to live with an exchange family in Indiana.. grrr.. but it was a fun experience driving down the main road at night.. lol. I sure did learn what I did not want from life at the age of 16
After that I lived in Madrid Spain for years and did finish my Masters in Spain.. strange world.. so near, and so yet so far... but, I learned the Spanish dialect, and can pass for a Madrileno in a heartbeat.. lol. I have had fun in my life.. and hopefully I am coming to an age where I can enjoy my life's work![]()
Hiya Michelle *waves*. My name is Elena, and Eleentje is a sweet way of calling me in Dutch. Although for anyone non-Dutch it sounds like a tongue-breaking exercise :)
I hope you will get to travel outside of the US, just to know how it is! I simply love travelling! I also want to get to know America better. I hope to be able to go on a road trip with my friends, while I still can! I know things like that are pretty much an impossibility, once you get kids and a mortgage.

Eleentje -- Wow, from the Ukrain to Iowa -- I bet that was a culture shock! I'm sure you had lots of interesting experiences. I haven't traveled outside of the US -- hopefully one day!!
My sister's exchange student was from Japan and she couldn't get over the size of everything here. How big the stores are, houses, etc. Her favorite thing was the grocery store LOL Oh, and my name is Michelle -- but I'll answer to that or Bonitinha ;)
Thank you, Shypo!
I hope you'll be able to find another one for cheap soon. I did some research first, just to make sure our dear Asian friends haven't counterfeited Metier already, but it seems like I'm going to get the real deal! I'll report back on its quality! My lashes are so stubborn and droopy/heavy, up to now I haven't found the curler that would really give me satisfactory results.

Eleentje, what a neat experience for you - I've traveled a bit, but not as much as some - I've been to a few countries (4) in Europe......nothing more than that. My son is currently studying in South Africa, so I'm glad he has the opportunities that I didn't have when I was growing up......
Eleentje, I'll have to check ebay
- I've been wanting that eyelash curler. I love the shadows!! They're fabulous.
HG, I'm glad you've had an enjoyable evening with Ramon. And the description of your look for the night, oh my, you must have looked stunning! No wonder he wanted another date straight away!
And it's nice that you get benefits like that. However, a great feeling for style and picking the right items out is something you got to have yourself.

...part 2. Haha, I was afraid that Specktra would eat my massive post, so I thought it would be the best to take precaucions. I also often copy the text before pushing any buttons. I've lost many posts in the past, before I was doing this, eek!
Shypo, you are confirming my suspicion, that there will be more than 18 shades of RC Shines, with different shades being available in the US and Europe.
I've seen the list of what we'll be getting, and there are 25 shades in total!
The extra shades are:
Sorry for the crappy descriptions, I was just quickly translating from Dutch
Venise doesn't seem to be in the list of the 18 shades we were initially told we're getting, nor in this list.
the official date when RC Shines go on sale in Europe (or specifically Holland) is March 7th. Are you still going to be in Italy then, HG? Have a safe and successful trip!
Yay, Elegant is back :) The story about G. Clooney's gf is priceless. I think she was actually hoping to get recognized, as a not-yet-very famous person. With famous people it's the other way around, isn't it. I think they love meeting people who don't go "ooh-aaah I love you so much!" to them, but just talk to them as their equal.

Hi Elena! I loved reading your post! Your driving lesson sounds like it was fun and exhilarating! Sometimes I wish I knew what it was like to not have to have a car, but that is not the lifestyle I have. I love this forum so much, and the diversity of the people and their lives! Very fascinating to see how others live, and have lived! Thank you for sharing some of that with us!
The Venise in Allure I believe is a RC, not a RC Shine - I found a swatch of it on T's site, but I just hadn't recalled it. I guess because it seems very brown? It looked pretty on Victoria Beckham, and probably is Venise....sometimes I wonder though, if they really use what they list they use, or just put in whatever brand/color they've been paid to list? I've noted in the past that fashion pics of the same model have the same makeup from photo to photo, but they list different brands for each page.
Here's the swatch on T's site:
http://www.temptalia.com/chanel-rouge-coco-debuts-added-rouge-coco-swatches
The RC Shine they featured in Allure is called Sari D'Eau, and it's considered a 'mango' color - very pretty! It's on my list to check out!
The RC Shines you're getting sound awesome! I cannot wait to see these, and I believe we get them in March as well - hopefully around the same time you do (which could be next week!!
).
Michelle, the LM powder I got is in fact the Translucent........and I hope you can get the Lancome foundation soon! That always happens to me - I find the shade/color of something I'm looking for, and that's the one they're out of (like Guava this past week at Nordies, and Tonkin at Sephora).
I think I'm going to try to head to the mall today, despite the snow, and pick up a couple more MAC 15 palettes (for my Inglot, and to depot some of my MAC), and hit Sephora rather than placing an order. I've decided against the TT brush set, but I might see if they have the pigment shadow brush and just get that. And then check out the Clinique chubbies.
Back to the office tomorrow - it will be the first time in 3 weeks due to all of my traveling! I won't know how to act! That is, if we don't get yet another snow storm......it looks like we got about an inch last night. Spring, oh spring, where art thou?

hi C! Eleen.. and all the Chanel Ratonas![]()
I am still here and all packed and ready to go tomorrow. I will be gone for 10 days this time.. I do know what you mean C.. it's hard to get back into the old routines when you are on the road a lot. My life from now on will be lived on airplanes a lot.
I notice that all the HE brands are killing each other with the gloss in tube products... 55 from D.. another bunch from Chanel, and about 40 from EL.. lol.
good luck with that.. too many colours I say and too similar to each other.. pay attention to the CCOs after the season is over.. lol
but that's just me thinking of the financial aspect.
I am headed for brunch later with the Wildman from the Argentine later.. and that will be it, until we meet again
I like him as a friend, we have lots in common (he was divorced twice.. I have been widowed twice).. and has no gf's at present (well, I won't bet my last wooden nickel on that). But he says he is not interested in dating 25 year olds which is the style for most 50 year old men...lol. They get bamboozeled by young flesh.. and then they sit and talk about nothing until they can hook her up![]()
anyway.. I am plotting my ls strategy for today... I think I will work around my Secret ls.. which is nude plummy... and work from that for my face.

Elena.. you too have had a lot of great experiences.. When I kick off from this planet, I will have little that I have not done.
I got my first MBA in finance and then went on for Marketing so its a double MBa. Did it help with my work? Absolutely!
There are so many people who would love to do what I do, but can only voice opinions in regards to colour/trends etc... and there are far too many of them for the global economy. I actually analyze what products will sell and why, or which ones will flop and why.. I am independent.
I think that the more prepared you are to do battle in the workforce the better off you will be.. even if you just sit back and have babies, you will know what to invest in and what to not buy.

Elegant, glad you are back with you pink pantalones !
sounds like you had a great time.. and got some yummy stuff![]()
I wish Ramon was from a storybook.. he smokes pipes.. which I hate phewww... but I can overlook that under the circumstances -- which are that we had dinner, a few drinks, dancing.. and he smoked out in the street.. lol.
I am off on Mon.. to a less than exciting trip for work.
You know, I was thinking that it wasn't even Coquette when I looked at it in Nordies when I didn't like it - I bet someone sat a different tube in Coquette's
spot - because it didn't look anything like the one I got. Being an old lady, I cant read the bottom of the tubes
I have Sari Dore - is that the one? Its quite colorful but I love it.
I got a few samples of the new foundation. It did not seem light enough for me. I will try them on my face today. I cannot believe it - with all the swatching I did, I forgot about Cashmere aggh
The clinique chubbies are soothing & sheer but have enough color. I love them for no makeup days. Cherry is a pretty red red, Watermelon - a light med pinky pink, Strawberry is a rosier darker pink red. We do think alike uh oh

^^ Glad you're back, Elegant, and glad to hear that it was a wonderful time for your family, and an exciting shopping excursion for you!! The belt and necklace I'm sure are stunning! And, I'm glad you're liking Coquette!

young flesh =
true though
Saks said they stopped carrying Dior because it doesn't sell well.

will we be without you that long????

very pretty Elegant.. wear it and enjoy.
My Chanel belts are old classics, but they weigh an arm and a leg.. lol. So, hard to wear around the neck.. duh.
msqqq.. how are you doing with the whitening products? I made a typo yesterday and posted that I was using Hydro Quinone in my night cream, I mean to type Hyonaluric Acid. That said, you can also put Retonic acid into night creams and lighten up some spots.
Got my face on.. lol. I did a plummy eye, with MAC's Feline quad, and then more emphasis with Magic night.. PE on the cheeks with some PA for contour and depth, and Secret on my lips.. I kissed the mirror again.. besides I am way hungry -- I do hate brunches![]()
oh, wearing a lovely pale blue linen dress with teeny tiny flowers of some pinky flowers.. with a soft cotton cardingan in light fuschia..![]()

I have been sitting in bed all morning thinking of ways to wear it. I will wear it as a necklace with a plain T shirt & grey or navy crop pants, as a jacket belt, cardigan belt. It has a very timeless classic feel which I why I loved it so much.
For the dark spots - I only have 1 slight very old acne kinda scar & It has become waaaay lighter since I started using that Philosophy Help Me & Clear Day with retinol. I am still very happy with the over-all skin results. Oh & the KS CytoCell with it.
The Pool Boy has been bringing me oj & coffee...
Well, I just tried the new Chanel foundation & it is just lovely! Light coverage, but its like a glowy matte, very very very silky velvety soft feel & it feels like you are wearing nothing. Very natural looking. I even used it under my eyes with no concealer & it looked so soft & pretty. The smell is so soft & DIVINE! I LOVE the smell of it. I used the B10 Beige Pastel & it was perfect. They told me that was the lightest shade. I was going to say that a better description of it would be that it just evens the look of the skin tone - then I read the folder they put my samples in & that is exactly how Chanel describes it. Its wonderful.
Anyone get their Joyeuse ls yet?
