I find that cooler lipsticks go better with cooler blushes, warmer lipsticks with warmer blushes (in general). One tip I read before is for you to put on lipstick before blush so there's less chance of color overload on the face. I usually pick up the products I want to use for the day then just match accordingly.
Some nice combos I've found are (blush + lipstick - all MAC unless the brand is stated):
Fleur Power + See Sheer, Ramblin Rose or Fresh Salmon (any peachy or pinky coral is great, IMHO -- Fleur Power is HG for me!)
Springsheen + Revlon Kiss Me Coral, Thrills, Hug Me
Melba + Revlon Kiss Me Coral, Revlon Pink In The Afternoon
Light bronzer + Dubonnet, Pink Nouveau, Revlon Pink About It, Revlon Kiss Me Coral
Breath of Plum + Plumful, Syrup or Pink Noveau
