It was pulling very orange one me. Meh! This was an easy pass!

Hooooooray! Surf Baby was finally released on Monday here in NZ, and today I went and picked up Hibiscus lipstick & My Paradise blush :) My lovely partner lent me his credit card so I could pick them up before they sold out. I'll most likely go back for Swell Baby e/s next week (if I'm not in labour, that is - I'm pregnant & my due date is this Sunday!) and I might get a better look at Gilded White eyeliner. Sun Blonde e/s is very pretty but I'm not sure what I'd wear it with - any e/s combination ideas for NC15 skin, light brown hair & green eyes? Thanks in advance :)
congrats! i hope u have a safe delivery.. perhaps u cn get ur partner to get SB if you're in labour? heehee
hhaha.. just because you're pregnant, does nt mean makeup is forgotten i guess! totally cool!!
Solar riche is loved by a very fair youtube make up girl "vintageortacky"... So.... I dont know. And i like how it looks on me. After you said LLB was red and better i looked at swatches but cant seem to find the difference lol. Im NC10 so... Im not sure...
SR was too orange-brown for my taste, whereas LLB is more of a rose-red-brown, which I do prefer any day for my NW20 skin. I am glad you like your SR. Are you wearing it as a blush/contour or all over? If you can, grab a LLB or GGL as the texture is amazingly smooth. They glide on my skin like butter but have a semi-matte finish
PS: I also found it hard to see the difference in the swatches. Bronzers seem to be hard to swatch, especially as most of us will sheer them out quite a bit, so it will look different than a heavy product swatch.
I'd say get it as long as it still around. I though it would work on blue eyes, but I love it on my lower lash-line as an accent color. Anyway, I know how you feel as I am still debating whether to get STO or not.

It's like the base the pigment is suspended in is sheer, but the pigment itself is highly reflective and pretty dense, so from some angles it looks totally opaque and other angles it looks sheer, depending on how the light hits it.
You can do cool stuff like put it over shadows that are a different color and get a duochrome effect. I like using the neutral colors in Summer Stash over purples or peaches, also i've tried the light green and the silver over Sun Blonde and gotten a cool look where it makes the pigment look more opaque and then you'll turn your head and just see Sun Blonde with a lot of shine over it.
Ooooh, I really like your passionate description of STO. Now I just need the final push to hit the order button. Lol.

I'd pair it with blues and greens! Go and get Surf USA, if you can, both colours are stunning together!
Have a safe delivery!
I love Surf USA! I have been using it a bunch as eyeliner with neutral or golden eyeshadow... I just got Sun Blonde too so I bet it would look great with that. I haven't tried it over my whole lid yet, but I think it would make a great crease color.
hmmm...i was debating between matte bronzer (the one in black packaging with bronze letters) and LLB... not sure. Do u have matte bronze?

SR was too orange-brown for my taste, whereas LLB is more of a rose-red-brown, which I do prefer any day for my NW20 skin. I am glad you like your SR. Ok so this weekend past I went to the MAC FS store and just because I swatched the Bronzer stick in Glity Bronze. I loved the way it looked on my skin, Thing is it looks a lot like the NARS Multiple in Palm Beach to me. I have Palm Beach and I rarely use it. So I'm wondering if anyone has these two products can they weigh in or do a comparison swatch? If these two products are similar I will be dusting off my NARS mulitple and put it to work this summer.
Totally tropical tutorial i used some surf baby products in my latest specktra tutorial :) click to watch guys :)
I do have the Matte Bronze as well. It is darker and slightly more warm-tinted (but not orange) than LLB, which is more brown-rosey. I haven't touched Matte Bronze since I have LLB. LLB is just so much smoother to apply - it is almost powdery, i.e. when you get it on the brush, you will have more powder residue on the surface of the compact, but the finish is not powdery at all. It melts better into the skin than Matte Bronze. Having said that, I still like Matte Bronze, and wouldn't I have discovered LLB, I would be totally happy with Matte Bronze.
Guess who bought STO today (after running to 4 different stores, including one FS MAC)?
I made sure that the gold is not melted, though the MA seem to be slightly irritated when I asked her if she could open the box to show me that it is indeed in good condition. The possibility of receiving a melted gold was the main reason for not ordering it through the MAC website.
I also swatched the Old Gold and Golden Lemon pigments, the former one comes closer to STO gold, whereas the latter one was much lighter.
What I like most about the STO gold is that it comes very close to the hibiscus overspray of MP. I really like it and I didn't want to go without it. I also checked out the MUFA metallic powders, but none of them came close in color to STO, though I have to admit that the texture of the MUFA powders was great.
I seriously should re-focus on the arrival of SP now... no more SB (at least that's the plan).

Great to hear you got what you wanted. All the best for you, hope it all goes well
I used Golden Lemon under Sun Blonde to get SB to be more yellow, without golden lemon it was pulling green, so I finally did see the green cast ev1 was talking about. I am currently trying to talk myself out of buying Inglot matte yellow eyeliner because the Inglot liners are pain to get off, they stick on me like glue.
Shontay, Full-face in the heat, you are brave girl.

I'm never out long. Like I said before, I try to avoid getting a tan. Plus, my make up is pretty resistant. The only thing is I need to keep tissue with me so I can blot because my instinct tells me to swipe my hand across my forehead.
Awe, I try not to depot LE collection e/s. I do really like the SB design for this summer collection. But you trip to Disney sounds fantastic. Enjoy!
Thanks, hun. I'm already playing with STO. Wow, I am still trying to figure out the texture of the gold. It's not creamy, nor is it like pigments or like an e/s. I've been using the 219, but I guess I want something with even more precision.
lol I tried to stay away from this forum so I don't get the urge to buy more but I'm so getting surf usa along with sun blonde with my next MAC order! - hope it stays in stock cause I'm not buying till next month! :)
This forum definitely makes you want to spend more! I thought I was done with Surf Baby but now think I want to get the gilded white pencil if I can find it in stock still.. :)
Thanks for the well wishing with my pregnancy, everyone :) Had a play with My Paradise & Hibiscus today, they are everything I wanted them to be. YAY!
I paired Hibiscus & My Paradise with a light, shimmery apricot Clinique shadow, winged eyeliner & lots of mascara :) Definitely going to have to go back for Swell Baby at the very least. Bonus belly shot & Wesley the cat. Also, it appears I have no arms in this picture, lol. Ah well. Off to run errands!
Aww man, I got so behind in this thread... I started a new job and have a long commute (1.5hrs one way), so I was lurking but not posting. I have missed you all. LOL I haven't had to time to keep up with my makeup obsession, and we won't even talk about my poor little blog... I don't even know the new collx... I totally missed Chanel's summer collx *pouts* so...
I didn't do so bad on this collx. I got the blue, yellow, white (don't care for I like dalliance better, even though they are different "white"), and the turqouise. Hibiscus, bustout (to replace my flaunting it) my paradise, bothe pigment stacks, and yes my gold is melted too, AND they cases are cracked. I don't think MAC thought out the packaging for this one. But so far I love it all. My favorite look so far is dalliance or short shorts in the inner 1/3 of my eye, yellow on the outer third, and saffron in the crease.... Then I pair it with hibiscus. Very fun!! i got a compliment from one of my favorite real life makeup gurus (LOL) so that felt good. LOL
Thx! Disney inspires a lot of my makeup looks.
I'm usually not attached to LE packaging so I don't mind depoting them. The only LE I haven't (and won't) depot are the VV collex and the My Paradise blush.
