MAC - Fashion Flower Discussion - Page 44

I did my haul today and everything was still available (of course, I went to a store that only had it out as of this morning, so I would have been surprised if something was already sold out). I came back with:

 

Summer Shower

Ever Hip

Alpha Girl

 

I was very tempted by Light Sunshine, but, since I have both Play It Proper and Miss Behave, I really couldn't justify it. I also really liked Fresh Daisy and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice highlighter. To me, it looked like a good dupe for Manila paper and/ or Dazzlelight. Other than Lucky Green, I felt that this was the only one that had good colour payoff. The other shades- particularly groundswell- were liked trying to get colour to rub off pottery. If you like either Aqua or Free to Be, I'd suggest getting them in regular pan form, because the pressed pattern seems to pack them too tightly. I was a bit tempted by Now in Season Lip Gelee when I tried it, but then I dabbed some on my lips, I couldn't really see a difference between it and the other sparkly l/g I have (Bubble Lounge and Resort Life), or at least, not enough of a difference to make me decide to buy it. I would have grabbed Bows & Curtseys, but I have NARS Night Porter, which is very similar but, to me at least, better. 

 

So I felt like I was pretty good overall. Then I went to the Guerlain counter...

When I first saw the new one swatched I thought it looked a just a bit deeper - then I just saw Temptalia's side by side swatches of the old & new - the new one does look a bit deeper/more pigmented.

Fashion Flower is now up on the Nordstrom site. I got super excited because Nordstrom ships internationally now (I'm in New Zealand), but just my luck - MAC is an exception! 

Ever hip is AMAZING!! I love this color! It's officially my favorite coral!! If your thinking about buying any of these GET THE ASAP!! Like the quite cute lipsticks, I'm gussing these will sell out just as quickly.

I highly recommend trying the studio fix boldlash. I'm not a fan of the original studio fix lash but the new one is very nice. Falselash is still my fave when it comes to MAC mascara but the new fix is super black and the formula wears very well.

i thought i could do without ever hip but i caved in at bought it today at my mac counter! It is sooo gorgeous I love It :D...im still waiting for my goodies I ordered online :S

I just bought ever hip & the coral lip gelee...something beauty!?? I LOVE ever hip, i can't pull off corals easily but this is the perfect pinky coral. I'm going back tmrw for a backup!

i had summer shower in my cart all ready to purchase when it was up on the site. i took too long debating because now it's gone. :( oh well ever hip is gone too i missed out

I've been bad, guys. I went to Bloomingdales to see the collection and to get Bows and Curtsey's. Why did I leave with Summer Shower and Alpha Girl? Summer Shower looked really pretty so I said why not. Then I decided to get Alpha Girl because the MUA put it on my face and I thought it was pretty. She put it all over actually and it was nice. I have a lot of extra money unexpectedly so I got those 2. The MUA told me to use Nightmoth with SS. I did that when I got home. It's alright, but I prefer it by itself or perhaps a more natural liner. I never liked the Nightmoth+ lighter color. It's seems dated to me, personally.

Neither of these items, in my opinion are a must, but if you have the extra cash, why not?

Oh and Ever Hip looked horrible on my hand so I said forget it. That's how I remembered it from last time. No sir.

I so regretted not getting Ever Hip last time around so I picked it up today....Love, love, love it!!  And this is from someone who wears Creme d'nude every day.  LOL  Oh, and compared to Made with Love, there is no comparison.  Completely different.  Whew, I was worried about that since I have 2 MWLs in my stash.

I just wanted to say I really like Budding Beauty lipgelee, I think it is backup worthy !

I'm gonna be pissed if Nordies screws me over on my order. 

Ever Hip is already sold out at my nearest MAC counter.  I have to take a trip downtown tomorrow to get it.  So excited! 

 

I do, but we won't get the collection here until late June/early July - time to save, I suppose, but I'm impatient! Plus I'll have a newborn baby then so don't anticipate being able to dash down to the counter or find space in my budget for everything I want...

Highly recommend Alpha Girl - I scored it with the Heatherette collection and LOVE it!  So, I picked up:

 

Ever Hip - the PERFECT coral lippie, probably why already sold out online and the first to sell out with Liberty of London collection

Summer Showers - subtle glitter, but can be layered - Bimbos unite!!

Ground Cover - the PERFECT eye crease color

Light Sunshine - lovely highlight

 

The flower pattern on the product goes pretty deep too - I tested that theory:)

Yay for all you ladies who got Summer Shower! I really want that lippie.

I also want to get both Beauty Powders and some Lipgelees (sp?), I just don't know which ones yet! First I thought only Fashion Flower, but since I saw more pics now, I leaning towards getting the other two and leaving Fashion Flower. I don't have any coral lip products and I always think they end up looking orange on me (I don't like orange), but maybe this is the time to try it out? I'm gonna swatch EH in the store and see if I can make it work.

Very pretty, Lou.  I have most of those colours so might give that a try myself some time

So I went to MAC yesterday and since I already own Lucky Green I thought that I would be getting 2 of the lipgelee's and 2 lipsticks. No lipgelee's for me. They were very pretty but a little too shimmery/glittery. I thougt that the gold one might resemble Goldyrocks...not so much. But I did walk away with 2 Ever Hips!!! I love them! It is the perfect coral lip that I have been searching for. So I couldnt walk out with just that.... ....so I also picked up Patina, Sketch and Blackground PP.

 

This morning I felt like playing in my make-up so this is the look I did :) Lucky Green on the eyes, Marine Life on the cheeks and Ever Hip on the lips..

Very nice GucciGirl!  I think I'll try the same combo this weekend - it's very spring like.

They have a TON left @ the free standing store @ Metrotown...
