I do not want to buy any of the big bounce shadows b/c of the aweful reviews, but I do want to replicate the smokey green eye look on Temptalia.  Do you think that the big bounce eyeshadow is needed as a base for this look?  Is there something else (a higher quality product) that anyone can suggest to use instead?

You can use a mufe aqua cream that's similar in color. #21 I think.

Thank you for the reccommendation!  I will stop by Sephora this weekend to get it!

I was going to skip the Big Bounce eyeshadow because of all the bad reviews. I saw them today and I purchased three of them. I have been  wearing Free as air for about 4 hours with no creasing. I am not wearing it as an eyeshadow base, there is no eyeshadow on top of it. I was able to get a very nice opaque application the first time with no problems. This is a very beautiful eyeshadow and wearing it as an eyeshadow base does it no justice. I applied Too Faced shadow insurance then Ben Nye Cosmic blue cream eyeshadow and on top of that I applied Free As Air and it's beautiful. I love this product and I plan to purchase all of them. I can take a picture of it on my eye if anyone wants to see it.

^^PLEASE take pictures!

I wouldn't shell out the money for these. There are many other cream shadows out there that are better and cheaper even.. SOO NOT WORTH THE MONEY! As a mac addict I have to reason with myself, hard earned money need not be spent on garbage overpriced products even if they say "MAC" on the container ohboy.gif

There is a purple mascara. Green, blue purple and gray are the shades. They are all pretty neat. What I like about them is you can wear them alone for a bright POP of color or layer them over black for a more subtle effect. I'm glad they used zoom as the base formula as opposed to opulash. The opulash brush is just too large.

So after playing with the big bounce shadows a little more I've found that there not as horrible as all of the reviews are making them out to be. The key is to use fast response eye cream or prep n prime eye as the base. PAINT POTS WILL NOT WORK!!! The color just smears all over the lid and the shadow will not set properly.I also have found that using the tip of a 224 or 217 brush is the best application method but you must keep your eye shut until it dries!! These take about 45 seconds to dry and if you open before then you will crease. I still dont like the consistancy but I do recommend asking for a sample if your curious about them. The colors in the collection are very pretty. However another downside is that they have a recommended life of only 6 months according to MAC.

I thought several of the colors looked so lovely. I'm definitely going to get a few shades. I don't have problems with es creasing so I am happy to read this. Thanks

I'll never use one up in 6 months..... and I HATE throwing away makeup, especially MAC

So, I am going to try one or maybe 2. I need to see for myself. I don't have problems with creasing. I use Mac and Mufe paint pots alone and they never crease. I can't wait to see what happens.

Shontay, I am planning on applying them at the counter first, then go home and see if they have got any staying power. Since they have such bad reviews, I doubt they will last on my eye lids though. The whole texture seems to be so watery but I also have to see for myself. amuse.gif

If they only last 6 months, are they permanent?  if not, what is the point?  How are you all buying these early?

If i have the time for that, I'm gonna try them too.. but only because I saw Temptalias new swatches and the colors are soooooo pretty. I saw the colors and was thinking if they were Paint Pots, I would've gotten all of them. No more food for one month, but the prettiest Paint Pots :D

I'm thinking maybe they get runny. You ever have a cream product that sweats or gets all wet and then nasty? Ick. That's what I think. I don't really see this drying up, just breaking apart and turning greasy. I don't think I can finish it in 6 months, but I still want to try one. If I don't like it, it'll be returned and I won't have to worry about the 6 months.

ah that makes more sense than drying up actually :)

Please take a picture! Free As Air is the colour that i like the most and i would love to see how it looks over a colour like Ben Nye Cosmic.

I'm on the not entirely positive bandwagon about these shadows. I received every color in the mail today and so far so good! I've worn rich thrills all day today no base or anything, and it is staying just fine, no creasing. My method was to grab a 242, add enough shadow for the application and leave it to dry a tiny bit for maybe a minute or so the same way I make my duo lash glue tacky, and then apply a coat. I let that dry for about 2 minutes and did the same thing over again. The result was a lasting shadow that isn't creasing after 6 hours of wear. I cannot fairly agree that this formula is the unpigmented horrible goopy mess some of the reviews would have you believe it is. The colors are actually quite nice and well pigmented.

Things I don't like about these shadows? They really are not impossible to use but they ARE runny, not quite the texture I think of when I think of cream or even mousse. Take cover girl dream mousse and add a tablespoon of water and there you have it! Lol They don't blend well with each other so you end up layering vs blending which is easy to screw up with these. If you layer them while they're too wet they slide everywhere. If you layer once it dries it feathers so you really have to be patient and know what you're doing to use more than one of the colors at a time. Honestly, I'm really torn about keeping them myself because while I have definitely found my method to using them, I can't see myself taking so much time to apply them on my clients. I have to agree with several of you who have said this collection would have been worth it if they had been paint pots.

So it seems like using this product would be very time consuming (pass for me) ! However, thank you for the review and explaining your technique for making them last.

iagree.gif MAC is pretty expensive, but so well worth it in my opinion. I can never finish anything in six months because I have SO MUCH make-up to use.ohboy.gif

That is what a make-up addict has to deal with constantly as you ladies know. I'm still resisting buying anything from this collection, FF and Surf Baby.

Let's see if I can keep it up.

same here....

i just found that my illamasqua illuminator totally separated...i usually take the 6 month rule with a grain of salt, but it seems with these liquidy pigmented products it's pretty real. i tried to remix the illuminator, and ended up having to be super careful not to end up with blotchy stains on my face! so sad.... :(

aw that sucks! yeah sometimes i ignore the use by date on cosmetics - but if the thing seperates and goes weird then you can't ignore it really!

hhmm I might go begging for some samples of the two deeper purpley colours and play with them at home to see whether I can blend them and whether they last. Unless I'm allowed a sample of 2 I think its a no go.
