Let me know what you think and if you got it. I did swatched it not long ago and was surprised that the shadow is perm.

I have eyed Safari over the years as well, but something has stopped me from getting it.  iirc, it's more of a true taupe colour, unlike Fauve, which has a decent amount of purple in it.  Or am I remembering incorrectly?

Fauve looks amazing!

Yes, it's a taupe. Which is probably why I did not get it yet th_dunno.gif

I am pretty partial to taupes and I don't love Safari on. I can't put my finger on why though.

Oh, good. I need another eyeshadow like a hole in my head, so I am good atm, especially since it's a perm eyeshadow.

Aquarelles and Sophisticated Eye collections are up on Chanel.com!  I wonder whatever happened to Sublime de Chanel Mascara that Amy at Cafemakeup mentioned as coming out in August?

Gail -- I am dying to see swatches of Pink Cloud and that gorgeous highlighter palette.  I am curious if they will show up on me.  I would love to see the Vanities quad, too!!

I can't wait to get my hands on Fauve eyeshadow.  I don't know if I should order it online or look for it at local counters.  I am curious about Twilight too.  Can anyone compare Twilight to the pink shadow in the Rose Envolee quad?  How about Vanities?  I found a pic that made me like it but I have only seen one pic.  Anyone else have pics and/or swatches of Vanities?

Welcome jmarie!!  We're so glad you decided to make your first post in the Chanel forum!!  yahoo.gif

I am interested in the e/l curler too - let us know how you like it and the Vanities quad - hopefully you won't have to wait too long!

icecaramellate - I posted some pics a few pages back, and I think Lou put a 'color story' in the 'sticky' section - check that out.  Twilight is nothing like the pink in RE - it's more of a pale strawberry pink with pink and gold flecks vs the glittery finish of the pink in RE.  It's pretty, but it doesn't give a ton of payoff.  Might be a good highlighter, particularly on darker skin.  The light is bad right now, otherwise I'd post a pic.

Thanks Shypo!

I really like the eye lash curler. I didn't use one before this so , I have nothing to compare it to. I already have some natural curl to my lashes but, curling them first has given me a nice lift.

Thanks for the info Shypo!  Edited - I found your  pics of Vanities in the Chanel eyeshadows thread.

Here is Vanites and Rose Envolee side by side. Sorry no swatches, it takes me awhile to start using something.

^^ Thanks! You pic makes me want Vanities right now! But mine are the round ones like RE.

Cheryl - great comparison of Twilight and the pink in RE. Twilight is mainly for highlighting, in fact, one SA told me the model in the summer promo pic is wearing Twilight under her browbone. You can see that it is pink but not too intense.

So pretty!pretty.gif  I really like that brownish shade in the lower right hand corner.   eyelove.gif  It kind of looks different in all the pics I've seen. The purple looks amazing as well.  heart.gif I guess I missed out on Rose Envolee.  I don't see it on Nordstrom's site anymore.  It is just as well.  I'm really close to pulling the trigger on the Chanel order.  I'm thinking maybe I can skip Tissees. I don't think it would wear well on me.  It looks so beautiful though. I may just get the eyelash curler.  I shouldn't but I'm so curious.  I just bought a new lash curler. I always get the Shu Uemura but the Sephora lady told me they don't see them in the US anymore so I bought the Shiseido.  It feels too big for my eye. As soon as I open it up and use it, I find the replacement pad for the Shu Uemura!  So I've mostly been using that one.  But it is probably good to have more than one because I'm constantly misplacing it.  Later, I remembered that Shu Uemura had a store in Soho I used to go to.  Maybe it is still there.  I should have checked before I bought the Shiseido one.  So back to Chanel. . .  So in the cart right now:

-Fauve

-Vanities

-eyelash curler

I also have Prelude, Lillium, Night Magic, and a backup Peridot on my wishlist and I'm debating if I should add anything.  BTW - I love and backed up Pleasing glossimer a while ago.  My first Pleasing is almost finished.  But I noticed Pleasing is still on the website.  I thought this was limited edition.

Hey ICL - Rose Envolee is still on Nordie's site:

Even the LE stuff sticks around on Nordies site for awhile - it's always good to check - you never know what you'll find! winkiss.gif

Thanks Shypo!  I looked before but I didn't see it.  But I just read your review of the product and now I'm not sure.  I really liked the pink color but you said in another post that it was problematic, right?  I do like the pink/gold color too though.  BTW - You didn't happen to see Rose Tourmaline blush too did you?  I didn't see that one either.

Love the new avatar.  I want to get a new one but I haven't found anything I liked yet.

Hey!  I believe if you look in the Joues Contraste, RT will still be there - I saw it that way the other day.   Edit:  I don't see it there now......001_unsure.gif

I love the 3 shadows (excluding the pink) but several people have said they have good luck with it wet.  It just annoys me, that's all girlhaha.gif.  The other 3 colors, though, are worth it IMO.  The dark eggplant/brown is a fabulous color, and the highlights are very smooth.

Thanks re: the avatar winks.gif.

I am not trying to be an enabler. However, when I tested the quad at the store, I applied the pink color wet just at the center of my lid. It looked amazing, everyone there was going nuts over it. Hopefully, I can repeat the look at home.

C!.. do you think the Rose Envolee will work on me?  I have not seen it personally and due to my present circumstances will not be able to till September.. lol.

Recc pls!  TIAfriends.gif

I agree that the pink color works the best when wet.  I have been packing some of the color on a brush and spraying it with MAC Fix before applying.  It really "makes" this color.  Otherwise it is a glittery mess.

Hi HG!!!  th_hug.gif  wavey.gif

I think it would definitely work for you, but I don't know whether it's a must-have.......if you think you want it, let me know and I'll pick it up for you -

Somehow I ended up at Macy's today.  I was really surprised to see this collection there.  I almost didn't even stop by that counter.   Yay me!  I got Vanities, Fauve and the eyelash curler.  The Lagoon quad looked fab as well but I have trouble with blues but it was tempting.  The MA tried Twilight on me and it didn't really show up.  It was pretty sheer.  She didn't use a base or anything and I didn't see which brush she used.  Sometimes the application makes the difference.  But here's the thing . . . I love the pink shimmer particles left on my eye.  It may be work checking out again with a base on. But either way, it looks like it would be quite a bit of work to make it work.  Magic Night is still a maybe as of now.

Prelude is not part of this collection but I finally saw it in person.  I just swatched this on hand but it may be too cool.  Not sure about this one but I'm still considering it as it wasn't too shimmery.  I'm quite drawn to shimmery shades but I think it may be time to try something different.  It looks like it would be an easy eye look for "quick and out the door makeup."  This is why I have been drawn to pre-made quads lately.  I need to pair down my routine a bit.

Oh and I haven't tried any of my purchases yet but I opened the curler and it comes with 2 extra cushions.  I think I read before that it came with 2 cushions but I thought that was the total (one on the curler and 1 extra) but really you get 3 cushions in total (one on the curler and 2 extras).  Does this justify the price?  Probably not but it was a nice surprise.

Oh and I still debating a backup of Peridot.  Well this store had about 10 of them so I left it.  Maybe Peridot is not as popular as I thought though you wouldn't know it if you frequent any nailboards.

Nice haul!!  Isn't Fauve awesome?!  I'm glad you got Vanities - I need to show mine some love I guess.......

And I LOVE Prelude - you're right, it is a quick-out-the-door combo that just looks understated and fabulous!

Let us know how you like the e/l curler!  I might try it out - I have the LMdB and Shu ones, and neither one really blows me away - haven't found the ideal one just yet.......

I'm scared of eyelash curlers cry.gif When we were young one of my sisters used an el curler all the time & then one day she injured her eye & the thing pulled her eyelashes out. - ouch! Granted, they are probably made much better than in the 70s girlhaha.gif

Hi,

Am new to this forum.  I ordered the eyelash curler last night - guess will get it some time next week.  I got the Lagons quad when it launched in India some time back and tried the Sublime mascara (got it as a sample in India) - have posted here.
