Nars Larger than Life than life lipgloss at sephora

Thread Starter

Sephora.com has the new larger than life lipgloss. Looks like they are exclusive to sephora for a while. Now we just need swatches.

^ Thx....I just called my local Sephora and the sales person said they should have them in store in about 3 wks. Debating on whether or not I should wait or just order online.  Decision, decisions.....

psmap85: Thank you for the information. :)

2browneyes: If I may make a suggestion, wait. ^^ Colors "swatches" on Sephora.com are often inaccurate. You might get a shade that will end up not being like what you can see on sephora.com

^ Thx....I was thinking about that. Plus waiting will give me a chance to save a lil more $ in case I really like what I see/swatch :)

A quick look at the ingredient list and it looks like these are gonna love me back! lanolin-free beautiful NARS gloss so I'm not allergic :-) swoon..... xo

@2browneyes ... I personally find NARS word descriptions really accurate, if the digital Sephora swatch is holding you back ... .Tiber and Como are catching my eyes :-) ... of course gold digger would be great to mix and blend with any of the non-shimmering glosses to give options of with or without gold shimmer.

Swatches!!!

From CanadianBeauty dot com blog:

(left to right; I've made a note where the blog description is really different than the Sephora one)

NORMA – cherry red
PLACE VENDÔME – strawberry pink (described as bright raspberry on Sephora)
PIRÉE – rosy pink
TIBER – cool beige (described as mauve nude on Sephora)
ODALISQUE – cantaloupe (described as pale apricot on Sephora)
GOLD DIGGER – sparkling peach shimmer (described as sparkling champagne beige on Sephora)
SPRING BREAK – sheer nude pink (described as pale golden beige sheen on Sephora)
COMO – shimmering berry (described as golden plum on Sephora)
CŒUR SUCRÉ – shimmering bright pink

unlike the picture of the glosses, the swatch order (right to left) is: Spring break, Gold Digger, Tiber, Odalisque, Piree, Como, Coeur Sucree, Place Vendome, and Norma.

Como looks pretty...Gold Digger looks just as you said- pretty alone or mixed with something. Thx

these are perm right? i think ill wait on them..

I will try these in store before I decide. For that price I want something special.

I'm sure I'll like all of them lol! but I will wait until they are in store because the shipping feels in Canada are ridiculous if I'm only getting a gloss from Sephora.

I want to try these out as well but, I'll wait to they are in the stores!!

I love Nars, but I don't these glosses aren't special at all. I played with them yesterday. The light colors are milky and I totally see it going into lip lines. The brighter colors are nice, but I have those shades already. They aren't sticky and the packaging is cool, but that's not enough to make me buy it. I'll stick to my mufe lab shines.

Did you find they smell bad?

I didn't smell anything. I made sure to sniff them because I am sensitive to scented lip products.

Thanks for the info. I was actually wondering about the smell. I guess they took into account people's comments about the waxy smell of Nars lipglosses.

But it's funny, because someone on sephora posted this as a review for the product:

The colors are great, however I can't get past the smell. Why anyone would put something so foul smelling on their face is beyond me.

She makes it sound like it smells like rotten fish. noworry.gif

Ha! That's interesting. I really didn't smell a thing. Maybe that foul smell has to do with the testers that person played with.

I personally can't stand the smell but I really want to try some.

That's absolutely possible. It works with the idea that I had: it depends on how they are stored. I've noticed that some of my glosses have a stronger smell than others. I realized I bought them from different places.

By the way, I think I need Place Vendôme. It looks gorgeous.

Hmm...the colours are pretty but I have so much gloss I am flowing over with it.  I love NARS regular glosses, especially because they are not sticky, but also love the doe foot applicator which is so soft. They are my favourite glosses of all. I think I will wait and try these in the store. I want to see what that applicator is like and how saturated the colours are to see if they are unique in any way.

I like these.  Love the applicator.

I played with these at Sephora today, and I really like them.  They remind me of a thicker version of MAC creamsheen glasses.  I did the sniff test and didn't smell anything funky.  They hardly smelled like anything, and I have no idea what that reviewer was talking about.  The swatches/color squares on the Sephora site are very off.  Don't use them to choose the colors that you want.

Gold Digger is very nice, but it is basically the same color as Greek Holiday.  Different consistency though.

I ended up with Tiber and Odalisque.  When I run out of Greek Holiday, then I will go back for Gold Digger.

Plus they had new long wear eye liners too.  I bought Madison Avenue.  It is a great grey liner.

There's nothing in them that would smell.  I doubt that the poster on the Sephora board even saw/smelt the new glosses.

I just got one of these glosses in the shade Como last night, and I am in love. I'd describe it as a "plummy pink" with subtle gold shimmers. It's not opaque, but it definitely gives my lips a good dose of color. Also, this really does make my lips look poutier/plumper, likely because it's so shiny.

I, too, was hesitant to buy these glosses when I read the "smells" review, but I honestly smell nothing when Como is on my lips and I am super sensitive to yucky gloss smells. All in all, I want more of these! I got a VIB 10% off coupon (The pink, "You're officially a V.I.B" one) with my purchase and I know what I'm gonna buy with it.

I think I will go to my sephora to see if they have these in stock. Will report back.

The original glosses do smell, but this new formula does not.  Maybe the Sephora poster was commenting on the old formula?

these all look so pretty, but i wonder if they will be stocked in the uk at all?

only at Sephora .... can you get Sephora online in the UK?
