Chanel Bombay Express Collection June 2012 - Page 2

I've just remembered this one, that gold powder and the nail polish will be mine. Does anyone know when it's coming out in the UK and whether it will be a Harrods exclusive or Selfridges exclusive? I need to get my hands on them, lol.

Just nailpolish for me
Greens red oranges..colors would scream India too me
A good green liner would have been amazing with the golds an neutrals

Dang I want the nail polish! I think it'll suit me better than Island... although I already got Island. Oh wait, Europe will not get this collection? Oh well then, money saved tong.gif.

QoS - congrats on the new job!

It will be available in the UK from Selfrdiges and Chanel Boutiques. Just trying to find out when and whether it'll be online as well.

^^ Ah okay, good to know :). I have a couple of Chanel boutiques nearby... well not completely nearby but Berlin definitely has a couple of them :D. I'll go and check them out in June then. Thanks for the heads up!

I'd forgotten about this one! I'm very curious about Diwali. I'm wondering if Nirvana would make a good base for smoky looks. I usually use Mac's Blackground... Then again, this seems a bit pricey to use just as a base, and I don't really see myself sporting a matte black all-over shadow look anytime soon.

I'm not even sure we'll get this one. We didn't get Byzance last year, so I suspect we won't, at least not in Montreal.

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone!  th_hug.gif

So I totally forgot the Brume D'Or JC that's being released in this collection. Do I need it? I'm kinda close in skin tone to the Bombay Express model here, but not as red/a little more yellow in tone. Will BdO even show up on me? How does it compare to Fandango?

I might spring for Diwali too--I got Miami Peach through a swap recently and was impressed with Chanel's formula. I think Diwali will be one of those rare colors not so easily duped.

Ah, who am I kidding, I might cave and get the highlighting powder too, it's just too pretty to pass up. >_> Texture will really be a determining factor, as I have a ton of gold highlighters--I'm like Gold Member when it comes to highlighters. If it's buttery soft (and NOT $80) it'll be a day 1 purchase.

So I take it the new job is going well? girlhaha.gif

^LOL that it is! As excited as I'm getting for this though I may just get Diwali after all. After using MMU for so many months I wore one of my JCs today and had a pimple on my cheek by the end of the day. :/ I may have to purge my stash of ALL non-MMU except for eyeshadows and lippies.

Oh that's too bad. Have you tried comparing to see if you have reactions with BOTH the baked and the US JCs? You might be able to keep whatever you have of one or the other formula? I've been purging my baked ones for the same reason, and Horizon doesn't agree with my skin either.

Winthrop, both broke me out :/ The US formula broke me out far worse, as in a rash of pimples rather than one or two, but a pimple's a pimple. I guess my skin's more freakishly sensitive than I thought.

I cannot wait for this collection. Does anyone know if it will be online only in the US?

This is bad news. Do you have an idea what is breaking you out?

Congratulations on the new job! We must be employment buddies- I started a new one last week. All of a sudden I'm having to wean myself off the brighter, more dramatic colours I have. For a year, I'd been doing work from home and mostly with arts clients, so no one cared if I showed up to a meeting in acid green lipstick (although I don't actually have one). Now I'm in an office, and working for a company that makes natural/ organic products... Not that I think I'd get the stink-eye, but I sort of feel compelled to keep things neutral.

For the US JCs it's definitely the mineral oil. For the Euro ones it might be the talc and/or silica. My current MMU foundation and blushes has none of those ingredients and never broke me out. Yay for finding out I don't have adult acne after all, boo for having to give up all my chanel facial products. :/

Man, that sucks ssad.gif but as you said, at least you have an idea what you can use and what not. Think positive, all the mony you are saving. smiles.gif
The bronzers are a problem, too?

Katred, congrats on the new job, looks like you take the neutral makeup as a challenge.

I assume that refers to France only. I'm going to London on Sunday, so will check Selfridges and hope they have it already.

I'm not really interested in anything from this collection anymore. The only thing that I would still like to get is Empreinte RCS, but I think I'll rather wait for the fall collection and new RA.

I'm with you, too! I thought I wanted the powder, but I think it's a skip in my book.

Skippety skip skip....

The design of the powder looks beautiful, so maybe I'll cave. I have Gold Fever, which is less pigmented than Or JC (I passed).

I like the powder too!

Ah... I still want Diwali n/p. Only if I can get it at a normal price though. There's no way I'm paying 69$ for that.

oh, no

I really liked the beige-gold of the powder in the promo pics, but if it is this gold its a skip, especially with price tag I am sure it will have.

Diwali is also too gold to my liking. Will wait for Dior's fall gold polish.

I had to laugh - when I was at the crazy Chanel lady's Macys - they told me there was no Bombay Collection (& said it like I was stupid), that was last year sigh.gif lol.gif

Skipitydooda for me too
