October darlin.. Biba is still trademarked but the company went belly up.

Her designs however are all coming back!.. look towards the 60's - 70's .. and you will find great modern looks.

Moth Brown, Cool Heat (which I may already have), and Moxie for me!

I haven't been buying much lately, and I may pass on everything... How close is Moxie to impassioned, and utter fun? I have both of those, and never wear them...

Many years ago, my cousin gave me a small pot of purple stuff by Biba and a tube of what is either brown lipstick or maybe it's supposed to be eyeshadow?  I could never work out what it was supposed to be as brown didn't seem like a lipstick colour to me.  In fact I may still have them somewhere lol

I like Moxie l/s, Cult of Cherry l/g, and Moth Brown e/s. I wear Candy Yum Yum all the time. Such a good color!

I'll pick up Moxie for my sister's birthday gift, since she missed out on Quick Sizzle and was quite bummed about it too. I know she'll love it!

don't be so sure :] I think you probably could maybe you're just not used to it? I have it from Quite Cute and thought it looked terrible but within time it grew on me

and I had compliments on it. so you never know

 

I loved Biba's colors - and that intense makeup look - strong eyes, strong cheeks, strong mouth. That's why i was excited to find a rich plum blush (in the HC collection) to go with all my plummy, berry lipsticks and glosses. I'm not that 95 lb sylph i was back then, but i still love the colors. And i'm planning on creating a few of my own retro looks this fall.

 

Lisa Eldridge has a number of YouTube videos using actual vintage Biba makeup (as i'm sure HerGreyness knows). So different from the EYES but nude mouth or MOUTH but nude eyes looks of today.

 

I still have my Biba makeup - and Mary Quant makeup - from the late 60s and early 70s. Of course, most isn't wearable, but i still look at it from time to time.

The stuff at House of Fraser isn't /really/ Biba. Another company bought the name (actually i think it changed hands a few times) and the original designer, Barbara Hulanicki, isn't involved. That new stuff looks nothing like late 60s early 70s Biba, which was romantic and glamourous, if intense, drawing from looks from the 20s and 30s for makeup and from the 30s and 40s for clothing.

 

Google "Biba makeup" and you should get some good photos. Dark smudgy eyes, dark lips with a very crisp outline (strong cupid's bow), deeply colored cheeks (but higher up on the bone than is the current fashion on the soft apple). Worn with big hats and long scarves.

I found these two pictures when I googled Biba makeup. Beautiful. I don't know if it's recent or not. I love the vampy lips and smokey eye look. The first picture has a periwinkle color being used as an eyeliner and I am dying to get it.

I am still bummed that 3N didn't make the cut. I love my MAC nudes :-(

If this is the set list I want Moxie, Rocker, Bait, Flash of Flesh, Jete and Moth Brown. I already have CYY. I hope everyone gets a chance to get it. I know its probably going to go fast! 

The periwinkle ES is gorg! I'm right there with u lemming a color like that! There has got to be something, somewhere. R u looking for an ES in that color or another type product?

Just a thought...U may want to look into the Carine Rotfield (spelling?) thread. I think it's a smokey eye & NUDE LIPPIE type collx. At least that was the just a couple months ago. So maybe there will be some nice nudes in there for ya'.

I thought they said Aug. Or is this just gonna pop up on us??? That's what I'm hesitant about.

I am actually more excited about the Mehr re-promo than CYY...strange?

Hi Spanky, I will take the periwinkle color in an e/s, liner, blush, lippie, gloss, etc. I don't even mind that color being mixed with some other purple. I just want it! I bought Cinestyle because it looked very periwinkle in the swatches. It's similar, but turns more grey on my lips than purple/blue. My eyes are always on the lookout for something close to this color. Maybe in an upcoming collection. Fingers crossed.
