I saw this earlier and I feel weak in the knees... Can't wait to see what they come up with. I've been a Warhol fan for so long, it's like I want to make sure I don't get my expectations up too high, but this sounds wonderful...

I just found out on NARS FB and they said they will release some info about the Andy Warhol collection soon!!!

(I can't see any info about it now on their website.)

On one hand, I'm so excited and on the other hand, I'm worried because what if the entire collection will be awesome!! :P

Thanks for the heads' up! I'm guessing that this collection will be between summer and fall. (I think that's when they did the Velvet Gloss Pencils last year.) I'm picturing some really bright, punchy shades, since Warhol wasn't exactly known for watercolours.

Yep!

In the US, it will be released in Oct. and in other places, come out in Nov!

But it's a limited edition, so if your country gets a NARS counter later this year, it's possible it won't be available.

Depending on when, I'd imagine you'd get it if it's open before the collection launches in stores. Also, Nars is continuing to expand distribution from their web site throughout 2012 from what I understand (they already did a big expansion on this late last year), so it's good to check there too! You'll have to use on line swatches as your guide, but they seem to keep pretty reasonable thresholds for free shipping, so it's a fairly economical way to shop.

I look for information every day, and these are the only things that I could find. :( So far, any picture about the fall collection have been taken off the blogs they were published on, very probably at NARS request. So I don't expect a blog to publish pictures and information of the NARS + Warhol collection anytime soon, unless they want to be in big trouble (possibly involving lawyers, I imagine).

Usually press releases with information, the names of the products and promotional pictures are released a couple weeks before the collection becomes available on narscosmetics.com

So until official information is available, we have to rely on bloggers or eBay sellers who aren't afraid to be in trouble. :/

I'm pretty determined to get that one too. I don't know if you checked out the new Sephora, but they have/ had the Thakoon polishes. They were sold out of most of the shades on the night they opened! I think HR still has them, though, and the guy at the HR Nars counter is such a sweetheart I just love going there.

The author of the article is saying NARS + Andy Warhol will replace the traditional fall collection, which is not true. There is a traditional fall collection, we've seen the items in the Nars Fall 2012 thread. ;) She's simply making (wrong) assumptions based on the press release for the NARS + Andy Warhol collection.

 

Edit: Wooo lack of sleep isn't doing me well. :P I think I understand what you mean now.

Last year the holiday collection was released on october 15th, and the gift set collection on november 1st. Since the NARS + Andy Warhol collection is set for october in the US, and november everywhere else, it is *possible* that it will replace the holiday gift set collection (which is traditionally limited edition, just like NARS + Andy Warhol). I don't think so, though, because traditional collections have always had a worldwide release date.

I hope there will be a holiday collection, a NARS + Warhol collection, and a holiday gift set collection!
