Two new Pro products: Gloss and Satin Lipmix  ($14.50 for 10 ml)

Gloss Lipmix: A lightweight, colourless formula that adds a high gloss finish to the lip. Blends with any Pro Lipmix or matte Lipcolour for a complete custom finish. Blend in palette or apply directly to the lip.

Satin Lipmix: A lightweight, colourless formula that adds a satin sheen to the lip. Blends with any Pro Lipmix or matte Lipcolour for a complete custom finish. Blend in palette or apply directly to the lip.

Are you getting both?

Oh this really interests me too!! I love playing with my OCC liptars for the simple reason of mixing new lip colours rather than always mixing eye colours.

I may have to pick these up at a later point

Those two are a nice addition to the existing lipmixes. I've got the Satin one, though I might get the Gloss mix too.

MAC-Guy, have u tried either of these?  What is the stickiness factor?  (I am thinking of doing a Pro order)

Only the Satin mix. Not sticky, it's more creamy. I still hope for a repromote of the dc'ed palettes to make mixing/storage easier.

Yes!  I've been wondering why they were discontinued.  I need one.

They've been d/c-ed a few years ago. Maybe there was no need for custom shades at that time, but as now is all about customizing, they should bring them back for Pros.

I thought this was a beautiful look.  I may need to pick up the black lip mix.

Go for it. The lip mixes are not only great to create custom lip colors, but to make existing lippies more wearable (if they are too dark, too light, too blue or orange-based, etc...). It's an extra step, but well worth the fun.

That would be awesome, I know when I mix my liptars... I rarely make enough to use for more than 2 days in fear that something might contaminate my colour... do you have any suggestions for what is available now?

I love creating custom colours for not only shadows but for lips.... I knew to get a pro cards sorted once i register into my next makeup course for this sort of thing

I still have some BU's of the mixing palettes, but I still hope that they will release new ones.

ooh it's like a better version of a clear lipgloss? I am all for that...

OT but what do you think of the crimson lipmix mac-guy? I had my eye on that for a while.

Do we know if any of the upcoming pro palettes will have these clear glosses for customization?  I could hold out for that.  Lip mixes in black, red, and blue could really be useful for playing around with colors.

I'd be down with a black lip mix. Would this only be for pro members though? Or can us regular MAC addicts get our little grubby hands on it as well?

You can get it from Pro, just have to call them and order by telephone and pay for the shipping--its a little more I think, but you don't have to be a pro member to order by phone.  You just don't get the discount.  But its worth it if they have something you really want and no pro store near you.

Thank you, martiangurll!!!

Just go to your Pro store. No need for ordering it over the phone as you have access to a Pro store.

I could not resist and purchased the Gloss Lipmix as well. It is gorgeous as now I can turn any l/s into a l/g.

Woohoo, I'm wearing my very own custom-made Gareth Pugh Restrict l/g today. love.gif It's the perfect Spring/Summer gloss for those who liked Restrict during the Winter months.

will put this on the list.

Ooh, I'd have fun making some custom colors outta this. I wonder if it can be mixed with pigments.

2/3 GP Restrict l/s + 1/3  Satin lipmix + 1 drop of the Gloss lipmix = a Restrict Cremesheen-ish l/g (maybe a little bit more longlasting as I made it less liquid-ey)

Now THIS I need. pompom.gif

I can take colours that are just a bit too cold for me, warm them up and turn them into a gloss. All the fun of finger painting, for grown ups. I'm all over this. I see a trip to the Pro Store in my future. *Eager nodding*

MAC-Guy, do you have a sense for how long the shelf life would be for a custom mix? If it's not long, then I'll be sure to make a tiny amount.

I try to produce enough product to last me a week, but not much more. The l/m are very pigmented, so you really don't need much. The problem is where to store it since the l/m palettes were d/c-ed. Also, it's not always easy to recreate exactly the same shade, but that's also the fun part.

And yes, there is no reason to not like a lippie anymore as the colored l/m are great to warm up or cool down a lippie. They are an excellent way to play with old lippies and glosses that don't really suit you that much. Just use some lipmix and make them "you." I'd say it's one of the best kept secrets for Pro items.

That sounds fabulous. My next mission: to find a way to make Rebel wearable!!! pompom.gif
