I am usually not a real bronzery chick but I bought NoB, Soft Sand and SD from HS and I already had Matte Bronze. I am starting to like the bronzing. Should I get Laguna too? I prefer mattes or sheens. Did anybody get one or more of the bronzers mentioned above and is Laguna a welcome addition? TIA Specktrettes!

GMTA! I'm on my way to Sephora to check out Laguna! :)

I don't think brush guards are necessary, I use toilet paper/paper towels when I want to get brushes back in shape or want to protect them. I got this tipp from Dustin Hunter's video, very helpful I think. You just wrap a piece around the brush handle and slide it over the bristles.

No way! I am looking forward to hearing your opinion :)

What is GMTA btw?

Hi Everyone!  I was looking for some opinions on the Shore Leave lip pencil... This is the item I have had my eyes on since the color story because of my hopes that it will be the perfect color for many of my lipsticks that just need a little light base to enhance their color.

I think the color is beautiful, but I was wondering how you feel about the actual product?  Does it apply well?  Is it kind of dry or tug at the lips when applying? I haven't heard it mentioned too much or seen many reviews, so any thoughts or opinions on this pencil would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! bouquet.gif

Thank you all for the lovely swatches, experiences and opinions you share :)  I love Specktra!! eyelove.gif

I always have my brush guards on they are awesome! But indeed with traveling it can be a problem. I do have the brush guards on for short travels. I bind the the brushes together with an elastic band and put them in a plastic bag from which i fold the top part and i have a compartement in my schoolbag in which the brushes with the bag can stand up so the brush guards won't slide down. Weird explanation i know:p

I'm still deciding if I want Fleet Fast and Crew. Guess I'll just wait until Thursday to see if it will work for me or not.

Richelle,

I think u just got caught in the crossfire.

I haven't been on here long but I think everyone brings spunk & sauciness to our passion, which is make up!

I know that I value you & your comments/suggestions & looking at hot guys on floats without meaning to...lol.

No one was trying to hush you up I think we just all want this over or at least not in the thread anymore!

Hugs!

I don't have Shore Leave (yet?), but I do have Throw me a Line and it is nice 'n creamy. Applies really well...

Well, since I can't remember much of my French from high school, can u give me the quick & dirty on Au Rose Sun Tint? That is one of the main things that has been on my to get list from day 1. Is there a product that looks similar that u like better? Thanks.
Lily is adorable BTW.

Hi Spanky!

Yes it was the Suntints, the texture is similar to MAC lipglasses, but thicker and slightly less sticky. I have to be careful and apply a very thing layer because otherwise, you'll get this everytime you open your mouth:

SuntintsAuRose03.jpg

It smell like vanilla, but the taste isn't that great. Not awful, but not good either. If you want it for the color, you might want to search for something else because on my lips it's clear with tiny gold sparkles. It looks beautiful when I swatch it heavily on my arm, but on my lips it's not like that at all even if I apply a thick layer (and you don't want to do that lol).

SuntintsAuRose04.jpg

I don't even know if it's moisturizing because I couldn't stand to keep it on my lips for more than a couple of minutes! If you don't mind the stickiness and don't care if it's almost clear on your lips, then maybe you'll like it.

Are you looking for a tinted lipbalm or a lipbalm with SPF? Clinique Superbalm is a nice lip balm/gloss, it comes in different shades too (although they are very sheer) and it's not tacky! But it doesn't contain SPF.

Oh and thanks for Lily. :)

Saw on Allura a swatch of Peachykeen and Fleet Flast as a comparison...can anyone confirm this?

But I LOVE Vera FF!  It's such an uncomplicated multi-purpose product for me.  The main color works as a blush for me, the outer rim as a highlighter, and swirled together... an allover glowy-sheen!  haven't used my Crew yet to see how it works.  But Vera FF is a product I grab ALL THE TIME!  I also take it with me everytime I travel for the multi-tasking benefits!
You won't be disappointed if you get it!

Ooh! Thanks for letting me know Pixie! I'm going to try & hunt this down now. Also, I dug ur picture with SLV. I'm quite a few shades fairer than u but I'm really hoping that SLV works for me b/c I didn't like the way Vegas Volt looked on me. I don't have any oranges in my stash. I'm also hoping that TCAS works for me *fingers crossed* & we all now I'm jonesing over the damn RR. & now must get Vera...going to look now!

I hope I'm able to make it to the store on Thurs. I swear I'll have to get a personal shopper if I'm out of commission to pick up my stuff.

Have a good one!

The only red lippie product I have is Nars Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (and I only bought that b/c I was rockin' a 20's look for a themed holiday party). Reds have always intimidated me, but RR looks like a nice neutral red to start with.

I hope RR works! I love people coming over to the red lippie side! If u don't like RR, try Ladybug or Cockney. It seems like a lot of people who are intimidated by reds like Ladybug.

Would love to see a picture of u with RR! I can't wait to get my hands on it, hopefully.

Vera SA is still available on MAC's website... You being cooler, that one may work lovely on you.  Ask fair skins how they like that one?  Pinkdollface?

Hope you like SLV... I REALLY love it!!!  And I don't have any straight orange lippies...

I hope everything works out for the best with your health honey... I know people tip toe around uncomfortable things like this... But my thoughts and prayers are with you!  Let us know how you are!  And I would happily volunteer my personal shopping servies!

So I placed my order 2 hours after it launched online on Wed. My order still shows pending. I've called them 2x and they state it's pending review of my billing address ( same address I've used for years and I've already been charged). She couldn't guarantee my items will be in stock when it ships, but that I will be notified. I'm seriously annoyed and about to cancel the whole order and just say the hell with this collection. This is my first issue with MAC online.

Peachykeen is more shimmery, while Fleet Fast almost matte with a slight glow (depending of the brush you use, you might see tiny gold sparkles). Peachykeen is softer, more pigmented... although you can get good pigmentation with Fleet Fast, you still need to layer it to obtain the same depth. Fleet Fast is more a reddish warm color, while Peachykeen is pink with a slight peachy undertone. On the cheek, you might not see a huge difference, but they aren't dupes.

I just ordered Salute lipstick along with Orange Tempera and Riviera Life. Exccciiiiiiiited. <3 Especially for Salute.  I have plans for that lipstick. lol

Pixie, I think you're the reason why SLV sold out so damn fast! LMAO

Also, did u say u bought fast fleet? Do u like it?
Thanks!

I didn't get Flower Fantasy instead of Crew i got bothgirlhaha.gif I use both powders as light blushes. Crew can turn out different colours, but if you think the pink will be too cool it's probably not the best choice because most of the powder is pink. That's why i wanted to say that FF is great. It's warmer, but has the same soft blush effect just a different colour.

I love Fleet Fast it's a great summer blush!

Oh Pixie, thank you so much for being so kind for taking the time to pray and send good vibes my way! I seriously love the way that u just came up & made Spectktraettes realize how lucky we are to have each other but not only that to talk about the wonderful things people do for each other. Oprah would be so proud of u! Also, thanks for offering to support my MU habit! It's just hard to battle life, but when I feel up to painting my face with 40 different products it can take my mind off the reality of my life.

I just threw the Vera in my shopping cart but am waiting to use "the code" since someone said u can only use it once. I'm hoping that b4 I order & go in for my thing on Tues that the lippies come back in stock.

Thanks again.

That is my experience as well. I only use them after drying and they do a wonderful job at that. Brushes always look new after a wash smiles.gif

MACerette,

(late) contests on getting ur NARS cert. I don't know if ur looking to get any eyeshadows from NARS & I've only just started to dabble in NARS but I love Galapagos, it's a single brown ES. it's beautiful!

As far as brush guards go, I've been using them for about 6 months & I only started to notice that they are making my brushes frey, with stray hairs all over my beautiful, nice brushes. Maybe when i put them in a cup to dry they are moving as they hit the bottom of teh container???Anyone had this experience? I would never, ever travel with them on because of this issue. But initially I think they are really handy.

But who are you ? A random guy who sits behind the computer and bullies chicks and tries to make them feel you and only you are right.  Guess what? YOU'RE NOT.

You are not the king or queen of makeup lovebug.  NO ONE has seen YOUR WORK.   Anyone can swatch a lipstick on their hand.  But let's see you put it into use.  Until this happens, get off your high horse, stop attacking people, and HUMBLE YOURSELF.  Specktra should be a place of positivity.  NOT a place where people feel uncomfortable because some random dude stalks every board and tries to act like he knows everything.  Show us your work, make a blog, get on youtube, create a portfolio THEN TALK.

Oh, and I can assure you that I am not the only one thinking this. I'm just the one with enough guts to say it, because it NEEDS to be said.  Take HEED to my advice sweetie pie.  MEN don't act like this. LOL

I haven't been on the site long, but kinda does come off the way. he hasn't talk to me since after show me Mac guidlines lol. This type of thing happens a lot in forums so I'm suprised.

Here's a video of TiffanyD from Youtube unboxing some Hey, Sailor! items.  Not the best lighting, but she does swatch them.  I like seeing people's reactions to the collection:

I couldn't haul from the Mac site because the won't except my Australian credit card. Lameeeeee. No free cute sailor tattoos for me. Frownface.

SO HELLO NORDSTROM!

Alright, I'm going to settle for...

SLV and RR Lipsticks

Old Gold Pigment - I've wanted this forever and the cute packaging has given me a reason to buy buy buy!

Sun Dipped Bronzer - due to the recommendations :)

Still tossing up whether to get the Spice l/s and l/g from Fashion Sets. Thoughts?

Hi everyone. I'm loving all the swatches and FOTD's that have been posted. I have not received my order yet. It should be here on Tuesday. I heard that pinch o' peach blush is a dupe for fleet fast. Can anyone confirm that? TIA.
