MAC Hey, Sailor! (Summer 2012) Discussion - Page 114

No-go for the pickup in store from my Nordstrom, they said I'd have to pick it up Thursday no matter what. 

Good news is that I found out I can pick it up on Thursday rather than Friday at least? My son loves the mall so we will most likely end up there in the evening for his birthday celebrations (or I suppose I could even go there first thing in the morning before we get going and wear it, which would be nice since we are going to the beach)!

I don't think the eBates are worth the trouble, at least not this time anyway, since I am only getting Crew and Jaunty. I always forget to use it too...

it's a shame the collection wasn't released earlier, b/c last weeks eBates was giving 13% cashback for Nordies! I bought some other stuff (cosmetics and other stuff), and got a nice chunk of change back. I guess it's worth it for me, b/c I NEVER forget to use it, haha. 

My haul for Hey, Sailor is pretty much done for now. Hopefully, I won't be enabled to buy anything else haha.

Mine are Crew, Fleet Fast, Sun Dipped, and Emerald Sea. Special mentions go to the 167SH!

So far, Sail La Vie is my fave. I also really like Sun Dipped, but I don't need another bronzer. I'm also looking forward to getting Handforged - I think I'll use that a lot on my lower lash line. I like Rich Ground fluidline a lot but this is different. I haven't made a brush decision yet because I wanted to check them out in person and I wasn't too worried about them selling out.

Swatching Crew confirmed that it wasn't right for me although I think it's very pretty and like it on others.

I ordered Sail La Vie from Nordies. I tried to do the in-store pickup but once I added it to my cart, clicked "check out" and signed into my account, SLV disappeared! I did this about 5 times before I just placed an order for the regular Nordstrom shipment. *sigh* it might take forever this way, but hopefully I still get my order..

Yeah, if that was the case I would have gone for the eBates for sure, now it's not such a big deal...I'd only get a couple dollars back.

It's funny, I always tell myself "remember to use eBates" and then I forget and remember almost immediately after I submit my order. It's the most frustrating feeling ever

I got Crew and Jaunty too!  

Ebates is offering 13% cashback for Macy's, but this collection hasn't launched on Macy's website yet.  I just don't have the patience to wait anymore. I placed an order on Nordies already and they offer free shipping on any order. Macy's only offers free shipping for orders $50 and up. My order was $45 so Nordies was a better option for me.

Don't shoot me ladies and gents but I am glad that the pick up in store option at Nordies isn't available just yet. Alot of stores are having huge events late this week (including the one I go to) and they are still processing preorders. Since some of this is limited stock at the counter (i.e. mine only got 3 Sun Dipped bronzers) it seems only fair that preorders should have access to in store stock first.

I hope everyone is able to get what they want off the site. I find Nordie's delivers pretty fast to my area.

Just got a delivery at work

Now everyone here thinks I'm a nut case for ordering so much makeup.

Not to mention on the 23rd & 24th they are having double points if you are using  your Nordstrom card (which I am).

You don't need Crew. I know you think you WANT Crew, but it doesn't sound like you're even sure of that. 

I knew all along that Crew would be too cold toned for me, but it was so pretty that I wanted it to work. I finally got to swatch it yesterday, and it's just as cool as I imagined. I don't doubt that someone with cooler or more neutral skin tones would see warmth in this, but on my skin it was almost a sheer candy floss pink. Not a good look for someone with my yellow undertones. I could see it looking gorgeous on someone who could carry that colour, but I think I recall you saying that pink isn't your friend.

While I'm far from an expert, Crew also seems like more of a light blush than a true highlighter for paler skintones. It sounds like you're lusting after a highlighter, so this might not be the right product for you, even if the colour is to your liking.

Bleh, yeah I am not going to wait...it's just too complicated and if I am going to get it at the same time might as well just stick with Nordstrom~. I'd rather get my stuff faster than wait and get a few bucks back. And yeah, mine would be $45 too (of course, since we are getting the same stuff) and paying shipping would negate any eBates savings.

I think the person I spoke to when I did the pre-sale just misspoke with the Friday thing~. I'm just going to go in Thursday morning and pick up my stuff (unless they are jerks for some reason) and then wear it to the beach :). 

Thanks! I am sure we'll have a great time. We are going to an aquarium and then the beach/boardwalk~. First beach trip of the year and first real beach trip for my son (last time he went he was too small to do anything, now he's turning 3).

I am usually an enabler but what Audrey said here is right. When I swatched (with my finger, but still) Crew it did not seem like a highlighter one bit to me. I am NC10. I don't even think it would be a light blush on me unless I use a fan or stippling brush to apply it, it seemed rather normal-blush-pigmented on my arm and it wasn't even all that shimmery. 

And this is coming from somebody who is quite excited to get Crew!

Mac-Guy, would Fast Fleet work for an NW15 with pink/red undertones?

I'm not MAC Guy but I have skin similar to yours and I love Fleet Fast.
