Amen Genn, I'm dying to see this on some people with fair skin! It looked fantastic on Pinkdollface, but I'd love to see it on more people. It's not getting much love!

MAC Hey, Sailor! (Summer 2012) Discussion - Page 118
I planned on skipping this collection until the bf and I decided to go the Mac pro store yesterday. I ended up hauling 3 of the sun dipped bronzers. OMG! this is HG status next to MAC glorify, haha. Its very difficult to find any bronzer on my skin tone without it being so orangey or unflattering on my skin. I'm a nw 30- 35 with no yellow undertones, mostly cool toned with a slight tan. That's asian skin for you haha! This products makes me look like I am naturally tanned, but i'm not. MAC describes the Bronzing Powders as lightly frosted, tinted powders to give skin sheer, natural color and highlights, and they recommend them for enhancing and strengthening a tan. MAC is dead on with this description!

I have Peachykeen, but not Fleet Fast so I can't comment on how close they are. I saw that someone asked T and she said that Peachykeen was lighter and less red. That actually will make it better for me; I have redness in my cheeks to begin with, so I can't really go with deeply pigmented blushes if they have a pink/red tone because it just emphasizes that.
I did swatch Fleet Fast in store, but it was on my hand (all they'd let me do). I didn't think to compare it Peachykeen. I really liked FF; it was a good tone for me. I'm not sure it would be on my face though because of the redness thing. I ended up buying Orgasm instead which is really a stretch for me because of the shimmer. I wouldn't wear it to work and it's really just a summer weekend casual blush for me, but the colour was divine and I really don't need much to get a flush (so hopefully I won't get too sparkly).
I don't think that Peachykeen and Fleet Fast are dupes, but I think Peachykeen might be kind of similar. Many blushes seem more pigmented because of my natural colouring, unfortunately.
Edit: I think I saw that someone mentioned Allura thought FF and PK were close as well, but I could be mistaken.

LOL. Yes, usually when people comment me on my complexion they're asking me if I'm sick because I look so pale.
I get the same thing...but when I really am sick my face gets ghastly pale & my freckles multiply. It's so strange.
Being pale is beautiful, just as beautiful as the range of all 'normal' skin tones, meaning not oopah oomph orange, fake n bake, over done spray tan or tanning bed people!
That's exactly how am too, LOL. But you should give bronzers a try.
I wear it all over, like on the cheeks, temples, forehead, nose and chin.
Maybe I'll have a look at the bronzers when I pick up my stuff on Thursday. I doubt I'll end up getting them (I don't WANT to be tan) but if the effect is amazing maybe I will change my mind.
I feel the same way, but am Bronzer curious just to see what effect it may have on me, in a very subtle way. I bought Lush Light Bronze at CCO recently & my dear, honest husband didn't really like it on me, but when we were inside in low lighting he said it looked better, like maybe it would be a nice thing to use at night...that is if we actually went out at night! Lol.
I'm interested to know what u thought of A Bronzer on u & which one u tried, so give us an update & like I said I got my LLBronzer at the CCO in the last month, if u have one near, maybe u should check it out if u don't love the 1 u try @ the store b/c then u get it at a discount & it's not something that will be hanging over ur head if $ is an issue.
HTH.

My favorite Asian moisturizing spray is relatively easy to find stateside (I see you live in LA, I don't think you will have any trouble finding this easily at a Japanese market such as Mitsuwa/Marukai/Nijiya...all of which carry the line up here in NorCal), it's by Sana in their Hadanomy range (I really like the moisturizer in their line too): http://www.sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/product/viewProductDetail.jspa?itemno=104407801001
I can seriously gush about that spray forever haha, I love the heck out of it and use it multiple times daily. It's the only thing I have a BU of since I use it so much, and I caught it on sale. I use it before moisturizer AM/PM, before taking a shower (I wash my face first, so it's usually kind of tight/dry at that time and I am not going to waste moisturizer before the shower) and to set makeup. I also have another one at my desk at work to perk me up or moisturize a bit during the work day.
Thanks for the tip! I'm going to keep my eyes open for it - I live 5 minutes away from a big Japanese mall. 'Should be easy to find!
Personally, with reds, I would never buy one unless I could try it on first, because the right red looks beautiful and the wrong red is just bad bad bad. You may possibly prefer the red gloss or maybe the red lipstick from Heavenly Creature will turn out to be better. Good luck on your red (and your bronzing experiences too)!

You are correct MACerette...that was the whole reason I bought the Ver's in the firstplace! I'm over Crew envy! I promise. I asked for a anti MU sponsor & quite a few have stepped up to this....ask & ye shall receive! Thanks everyone for looking out for me. I don't want to totally be weaned off MU...just some clear heads to help me thru these moments! Big hugs all around.
Of course the Vera's will suffice (well, at least until the Next Best Thing is launched). When they arrive, you'll have fun playing with them and figuring out how to work them into different looks. They sound great - I'm looking forward to receiving mine. :)
I hate when I buy something (particularly when I had doubts about it to begin with) and it's just wrong for me. I don't mind spending the money when I enjoy the item, but I swear I spend 'wasted' money 50 different ways in my head.
(Like the wasted GAT l/g could have been Riviera Life).
Eye luggage issues for some reason I can't pull up the quote that I'm replying to but Liba & perhaps FadBurger were talking about puffy under eyes. That was a huge issue for me, but I went to Sephora & someone recommended the Bliss Triple Oxygen Eye Cream & I noticed a vast improvement when I started using it faithfully. I can't live w/o it, so anyone w/ eye bags or circles may want to check this stuff out. Ask for a sample & see what u think.
Only drawback is that I noticed my eye MU was drifting over to the side bridge of my nose & I think that it's because using the Bliss cream in the morning on my eye lids caused my MU to migrate.
I still feel like I can't cover up when my eyeshadow makes it's way onto the side bridge of my nose, so if anyone has any tips, I would totally be indebted to you forever!
thx spanky . i added a comment, i guess it didnt get posted but i will post swatches on thursday. its pretty gloomy and rainy here right now and cant get any good photos everything gets wash out. i need some sunlight
but this is wat i think about the products
fleet fast -a very nice subtle blush, was surprise that it looks so good on my cheek( im nw45)
salute- i wish this lipstick got more love, it just needs a little work. its a really nice peach
sail la vie - a must have lipstick, i call it a hot orange
rivera life- i compare this to my Nars wonder gloss and compare to Nars RL is very opaque and more of a deeper orange
orange tampera -a soft pinkish gloss and go with multiple lipsticks
on thursday im going instore to get red racer it will be my first red lipstick
and going to see if nautical navy is worth buying

Am i understading u correctly, r u just getting the Veras too??? If I'm understanding u correctly I'm so geekely excited because we are not the same skintone but we r the same MU path! How funny. I know what u mean about the $ & GAT! Could have had something more fitting for my coloring for sure!
So funny to me.
Have a good night!

The only thing I ended up with from this collection was the Old Gold Pigment, I am more of a blue based lover so it made it easier to skip what i needed too... Althought really wanted the tote and was sad to skip it only because of the price and the tight budget my makeup purchasing is on atm...

I looooove Crew so much, I wore it today again and I finally figured out why I like it so much. It gives me that hint of reddish pink flush I get on my cheeks when I go outside, not a sunburn but you know what I mean? It's definitely not an highlighter, they should have called it a blush.

I missed a few pages of posts. May I ask why u canceled Sun Dipped??? Enjoy ur Albatross!
I bought Lush Light Bronze from the Surf Baby collx. & my husband did not like it on me. To bronze or not to bronze...at least I got a slight discount on the LLB.
I've been dying to get Albatross ever since Shellcat sang it's praises. I've recently become addicted to HL, therefore Albie is near the top of my wish list. Sephora needs to have another f & f discount so I can have a NARS haul. Please PM me if u can know of any must haves for NC20s. I have a few of their ES, which I loooove & one ES pencil, but no blushes or lippies yet.
Thanks!
I decided against Sun Dipped because Icecaramelatte said it was a bit ashy on her and I remember our skin tones being pretty close. So if it looks that way on her, I know it won't work out for me. I also realized I really don't want a "bronzer" but more of a illuminator/highlighter. I'm naturally tan so I don't want to darkin my skin, I just want a glow from within look.
Spanky I didn't think about how my "king" may feel about me wearing the "bronzed" look but I have a feeling he would prefer me without it but wouldn't say so. He hates the "fake" look on women and the wrong bronzer will certainly give that look. A illuminator/highlighter would be best for me because its the most natural.

Yeah I ended up canceling Red Racer and going for the Send Me Sailing gloss instead...I had a bad feeling about Red Racer since it is on the yellow/warmer side. Send Me Sailing is more my kind of red, and I wear more gloss than lipstick anyway!

My wonderful boyfriend just came home and ordered Fleet Fast for me! We compared swatches to Tarte's Glisten blush (which Temptalia listed as a possible dupe and I already own) and he told me that they looked different to him, so he got it for me as a "just because" present :) Now my haul needs to be over!

I think you'll be happy with the gloss - it's got a really amazing texture- very opaque and wet but not slippery or unusually sticky, plus it has more of a blue undertone, without going full blue-based. Very classic but also stylish and not dowdy.

The Vera powders were sparkly on me too, and I know a lot of folks loved them and felt they just gave a beautiful sheen.
My skin is dry like a bone - I'm starting to think that those mica sparkles melt away into skin with more natural oils than mine? It's mysterious.
Congrats on being brave and trying a bronzer! I love it when I'm feeling like something the cat dragged in and people are still telling me how healthy I look that day.
When you buff it out, the micro-glitter transforms into a sheen (though buffing might not be the best option for very dry skin).
Are you still using the MI Serum? I hope you can make Crew work for you (as well as Vera).

Hehe, the way I made them all work for me was just not get them
That MI serum is great, but there's a limit to what my middle aged skin is gonna do, especially in those areas where the skin is thinner. I sort of avoid products that need a lot of buffing too, again for my skin's sake. It's all good...I don't feel deprived, since I have all the beautiful EDSFs, that work perfectly for me with no muss or fuss, plus Marine Life and My Paradise to get me through the peak of the summer.
Spanky was hoping for a little Crew anti-enabling so I brought up my personal taste about it. Anti-enabling demon ------->
I know there are going to be plenty of very happy people in the Crew Crew. I'm just glad MAC has so many different highlight and beauty powder and skin finish formulas - something for everyone under the summer sun!

I have to wait until Wednesday to get a bulk of my haul, and not sure how long it will take SLV to reach me, but so far I am looooving Fleet Fast! It's just the right amount of red to not make my cheeks look too...Snow White-ish lol. In certain lights I could even pick up on the coral tone, too. I wore Whisper of Gilt over it today and it just looked so fab. Gold sheen city! Launch Away gets an honorable mention, too because it's just a good flushed color without being too much. I can forsee me wearing LA more when I do a bold eye or a bold lip, so as not to look too done up!

Don't shoot me ladies and gents but I am glad that the pick up in store option at Nordies isn't available just yet. Alot of stores are having huge events late this week (including the one I go to) and they are still processing preorders. Since some of this is limited stock at the counter (i.e. mine only got 3 Sun Dipped bronzers) it seems only fair that preorders should have access to in store stock first.
I hope everyone is able to get what they want off the site. I find Nordie's delivers pretty fast to my area.
That makes sense. I think my local Nordstrom gets more than 3 of each item but when I picked up my preorders for Glitter & Ice and Reel Sexy/Tres Cheek/Extra Dimension, a few items were sold out at some point on the first day. Partly due to pre-orders and then limited stock after that.
Blast! Missed double points by a couple of days!
Dang! That takes some will power! I usually can't wait to get home and the first thing I do is rip open the box

I placed my order from Nordies this morning, as well. I does take forever 4 them to ship, I have a feeling my goods won't get here til next week, but there lowest shipping upgrade was $15, uh I have self control to wait...b/c that means I can grab another LS or LG for that amount.
Ur picture is beautiful! I really liked the LS on you. & I have freckles galore. When I start not feeling well my face gets super pasty & my freckles stand out & multiply by the 1000s. My mom says I look like Howdy Doody...thanks mom. Look him up if u don't know who he is, he's from 50's tv.
Love to see more FOTDs from you!
Team Fast Nordstom's Shipping!
Team Freckles!
Thanks! Still not used to seeing myself in bright-ass matte lipsticks! LOL. Haha I dooooo know who Howdy Doody is! My dad always sings the theme song when he's meandering around the house!

I thought Sun Dipped was beautiful and very nice and subtle, but I'm on the fence about getting it, since I have enough LLB to get me through the summer. I'm sort of leaving it to the last minute when I go pick up my things on Thurs. I'm also this close to breaking down and getting the brush - it's really well made.

Oooh, I should start wearing them soon with my summer HG l/s Hibiscus!
I'm still undecided on Crew. Is it powdery? I'm secretly hoping I won't like it as I have so many blushes already.
I'm excited to see Red Racer, Send Me Sailing, and everything else Thursday.

Not powdery at all - it's really close to My Paradise in formula, in my estimate, except without any gold shimmer, just that clear micro-shimmer/glitter effect (or whatever the heck it is hahaha - so complicated this technology!!)

Do you know the Pro Shaping Powders in Soft Focus and Warm Light? The finish is quite similar to Crew.
