Thanks for the offer, but I found one at the counter when I picked up my pre-sale order. I'm sure someone here would be willing to take it off your hands

uh-oh.
For what I've seen of pictures of you, it might be a skip 'n regret situation if:
- you love a true orange.
- you love a super opaque but not sludgy looking lipglass.
- you want the mot unique color in the collection.
- want an ultimate summer fun color.
It ought to be fine on your skin tone, although it's 100% orange, with no white and no red. I don't think we're going to see something too similar coming up - this one screams summertime. It's this year's Krazy Kahuna, imo. The only anti-enable I can come up with is it might look iffy if your complexion is too cool, and it's a party color, not a run-to-the-grocery-store color. Also, it's very trendy, so by next summer who knows, it'll either look dated or by then every other makeup line will be doing it.
thanks liba!
i do love a true orange, and it looks so nice in everybody's swatches, but the fact that it's a 'party colour' might make it harder for me to wear. my complexion is warm in theory, but i tend to be able to pull off more cool colours than warm, unless they are just too light/white based. of course orange is a funny one for me. i seem to wear my glosses much less than my lipsticks and it's easier for me to pull off bright lipsticks at the office than bright sparkling glosses(that's me anti-enabling myself).
i'm going to try to skip it (going to check out the collection tomorrow) and hope for the best...

i finally got my stuff. Crew, To Catch A Sailor, and the 167sh brush.
Crew- Omg Love this stuff. I'm nc44/45 and this thing is awesome. I swirled it around with my 109 brush and applied it above my cheekbones. Very nice glow.
To Catch A sailor - meh, not a big fan of it on myself. It looks like pewter type color on me. I wish it looked on me how it looked on pinkdollface but of course our skintones and lip colors are different. I'm keeping it just because I collect Mac special packaging lipsticks.
167sh - a bit stiffer than i thought it would be but its still is good. Haven't tried it with my msf natural but I can already tell ill like it better my 182 brush.
yay! you got your stuff!!
but oh no....i was hoping to axe crew...oh oh

Shoot I forgot! RR is very tomato red looking while DD is a coral red. That's really what I meant to type!
That combo does sound pretty!

check it out before you axe it! lol its very pretty. Im just scared it wont look the same once the beige overspray is gone
lol were u able to check out crew in person? I have refined golden from last years summer collection and i love it as blush. I havent even tried it as a bronzer lmao.

Just to back everyone up on anti-enabling for you.....
Don't feel too overworked about Red Racer. It's a more mainstream red, overall - when it works, it works great, but if it's not perfect, it'll look pretty normal, like a lot of other reds. The texture is really nice on it, but personally, I had zero trouble passing on it. And besides...Ruffian Red is right around the corner, as well as Fire Sign (which I think is going to be awesome if it's that current lustre formula), and that red lip/cheek pot from Casual Color (which I'm really interested in seeing, since it's got a sort of off-bright shade that will work for day/night and any season of the year, almost a Viva Glam I vibe). Then, you KNOW there will be red in the Marilyn collection - no dearth of RED in our futures!
Those blushes are very pretty and easy to use - those are the hardest ones for me to be The Anti-Enabling Demon over. If you have the Naturally blushes and are good about layering them on in different ways, you can get a similar look, but obviously no gold sheen and a bit trickier until you get your personal touch down with them. I DO think we'll see some more blushes like the HS ones for fall - the trend is definitely going in that direction. If you get them, though, you will love 'em, so
I'm really picky about nudes and Salute is beautiful on me, but it could look yech on some people too, so if you can't try it on in person, or if you already have a nude that's really good for summer (with not too much white, pastel look to it), you can pass. Can you wear Sheer Mandarin sheen supreme? If you can, you can pull off Salute. It needs very smooth lips, though - the texture is creamy but not too forgiving either.
I have to agree with Liba on Red Racer. Unless you just want to collect reds.

Hey guys here's a look i did using Sail La Vie lipstick. I'm still scared to wear orange out but I think the neutral eyes and some gloss make it alot more wearable. What do you think?

Ahhh got my goodies! I immediately had to put Red Racer on
I paired it with Cherry lip liner, RR applied with a lip brush. I dabbed a smidgen of Blessedly Rich in the middle of my lips to give some shine. I think I found my Fancy Red! I feel like Snow White lol
I also have Fleet Fast blush on. I can't remember what's on my eyes. I was rushing out the door this morning so slapped on some neutral shades and off I went!

Yes! That's the reason I got Double Dare - the Cyndi lipglass looked so odd on me, but Double Dare was close to the shade but definitely more flattering, and it's a better match for the Cyndi lipstick IMO.
Oh good
They're not exact dupes, but I agree that there is no need to own both of them

Too bad the beige is oversplay. I'm not 100% sold on Crew yet. How do you girls and gents like Crew?

Gorgeous look, duckrodeo!
Hope I'll get Red Racer tomorrow! Red lips make me feel like Snow White, too!
my nordies rep didn't put salute in my bag. Hope I can get it tomorrow.
I LOVE RIVIERA LIFE OMG, it is beautiful.
Fleet flash, love... I need to compare it to SUR, it seems like it is the same Mauve family.
Send me sailing, definitely love this over red racer.
The pencils, well I have a blue cake liner like the blue. I only prolly needed the gold and green.

Haha coincidentally, I'm wearing Refined Golden as my blush today! Loving it! And I have tried it as a bronzer but don't over do it since it can be glittery if you put it all over your face. I prefer matte shades for bronzers.

You're gorgeous! I'm going to try Samoa Silk with SLV as well. I always forget about Samoa Silk.

You're welcome! I just love your technique. Everything is so flawlessly blended and crisp.
Love it!
I did get Sail La Vie on Monday morning from the Nordstrom site! I checked my UPS status and it should be here for early delivery on Friday Soooo excited! I'll definitely post how it looks when I receive it.
you always say the sweetest things not only to me but everyone else on here, Pixie, thank you so much! You're the greatest!
I love seeing your looks, too! I hope SLV looks half as good on me as it does on you!
I was super worried when I was applying this color. It's been a while since I've used a red lipstick and my goodness one little flub with the liner or the lipstick and there's a lot more work going into erasing the mistake lol. It's sooooo worth it in the end - Reds really are spectacular that way! So polished and they scream "Fabulous!".
Friday I will get Sail La Vie! I'm so glad - it was originally scheduled for Tuesday delivery but UPS decided to be kind and schedule an early delivery! They must have read my anxious little mind!

Thank you Blush Happy! I Love It!! The only other reds I own are Runaway Red and Eden Rouge, so it's definitely a welcome addition to my collection. Do you own Kanga Rouge? I read on here that RR and KR are quite similar!
Aw thank you pinkdollface! That's sweet of you! Fleet Fast is sooo versatile. It has the reddish tint to it that pairs well with Red Racer, but it's also a little coral, too! It's a great summer shade I know I'll get a lot of use out of it in the upcoming months

I got my Crew in the mail today. It's so pretty, and I think it will make a nice, barely there blush for summer/work days. I just ordered sun dipped, sight unseen. I'm hoping it works for my pale face. I'm about nw15. I haven't owned a bronzes In Years, because I always found them too orangey. I would have liked to try it in store first, but will be nowhere near a MAC for the next couple of weeks.
Please forgive typos! I'm just starting to get used to an iPad.
SD has no orange or yellow in it, so you should be safe. Enjoy!
