I can't decide on the MESs! I need more swatches :-\
Where's a swatch of Sky or Invincible Light? :(
Very happy I just read your comment, because I was totally losing hope on those MES for a minute there! lol!

Swatches!!!
MAC HEAVENLY CREATURE 璀璨星河系列 @ Yuki's Lazy Channel :: 痞客邦 PIXNET ::
Based on those swatches, my list has been narrowed WAY down:
Eartly
Universal Appeal
Supernova
No lipticks. No cremesheens. Of course, this may all change once I swatch them for myself.
its true... look at other collection swatches...they all look kinda like that...doesnt really show off the shine of things well, just kinda looks gritty and blah.

Now we know what the swirl collection is! This might be a long list
Lipstick
My only changes are removing Strictly Platonic and Cusp of Dawn. Everything else I will get...I just know it
I don't even want to wear these, I just want to glue them to my wall and keep them as art!
I"m not sure about the shades themselves. I'm not usually a huge fan of MES, but I do agree that those photos aren't doing them any favours. Bright Moon is less exciting than I'd hoped. That was really the only one that I thought I might go for. Fire Sign is really pretty. If you look at the top picture, you can see the shimmer in it... Just what I was hoping...
Star Wonder and Light Year both look very nice, although SW kind of looks like it could be a dupe for Petticoat, which I'm not close to finishing. Definitely more interested in those than I was, though.
*fist bump* So ready to splurge on this!

*squeals* Your furbabies are soooo cute!!

they r always so amateur/like.... she doesnt know how to take pictures and position lighting, which i think its important if u wanna have a blog
I can't remember if I posted a list in here already or not...but I am officially the tannest I have been in 5+ years (at NW25 - don't laugh!) so I'm having to work at visualizing colors on my new skintone and it's throwing me off!
Tentative list:
Light Year MSF
Star Wonder MSF
Earthshine MSF (maybe)
Stratus MB
Ring of Saturn MB
Supernova MB (maybe)
Neo Nebula MES
Earthly MES
Invincible Light MES
Galaxy Rose CSG OR Astral CSG (gotta pick just one!)
Strictly Plutonic CSG (maybe)
Meteoric CSG (maybe)
My only MUST MUST MUST haves are Light Year, Star Wonder, and Neo Nebula right now so I might be able to cut this down when more swatches and comparisons start popping up.
How quickly do the Mineralize collections usually sell out compared to a collection like Hey, Sailor? I was wondering as I am new to collections and want to be prepared for battle if need be lol. I was able to get everything I wanted from Hey, Sailor except for Red Racer b/c they always restock it when I am broke lol. The pics are really pretty but I am hoping that there are better swatches to come. Looks like the MSF's are similar in color to the MB's. Maybe that'll shorten my list a bit which is good. Looking forward to this releasing so I can grab what I want and relax. I hate when stuff I want sells out.

There seems to be a general order of what sells out first... usually it will be the lipsticks, MSFs, & blush.... then the other things are a bit slower to sell out. I would expect maybe 1 or 2 of the most popular MES to sell out but probably not until after some of the lipsticks and MSF's go (usually the ones that sell out first are the ones that are universally wearable, unique, or get super good reviews)...
Also, for the general public (since I dont have a pro discount)...seems like most stuff doesnt sell out until the official email goes out to announce the collection or it gets coverage from T's site...so depending on how much hype there is for a certain collection...usually the first thing to sell out is around 6 to 12 hours after it goes up on the site map)
depending on what items you want... you may have a small window to get them.... this collection is probably going to have a lot of sellouts fairly quickly though, i believe...
I'm thinking the first things to go will be Venus and Star Wonder... Supernova... maybe Fire Sign...possibly Stratus (if better swatches come out)...and Center of the Universe....
normally I would say cut-a-caper would be first, but since its a repromote....it may not sell out as fast as it would if it was a totally new color...
After seeing more swatches, I'm not liking any of the colors of the mineralized products, they all seem kinda blah. So I think I'll just get Cut A Caper, Venus and Meteoric...and maybe Astral. Galaxy Rose is not at all like it was described...looks like a pinky red to me, same with Cusp of Dawn which just looks light brown. I'm trying to not give into buying a blush just for the fact that it has swirls, none are unique to colors I already have.
I wouldn't get down on Yuki too much. If you google-translate the page, she apologizes that she could only do really quickie bad swatches and couldn't do any wet or with base, plus she only had some toilet paper to do her paper swatches with. It seems like she usually only gets to test stuff at press events, which aren't the best spots to swatch everything - she probably saw all these along with a bunch of other collections and just holds back on releasing the photos until the press embargo is lifted. I'm OK with what she does because she doesn't go all crazy with ads and other ways of making money off her blog, plus heck, she IS usually the first out the gate with full collection swatches - what's not to like?!
I DO think her close up photos are really great here - especially the MES. You can tell very easily how the swirls are different colors and different textures, including some swirls that are almost matte and some that are super glittery, with sheen-style swirls (like Semi-Precious sheen) mixed in.
As my MA said, half the blushes and MSFs are glittery and the other half are new, improved sheen, as good or better than SP. The eyeshadows are broken down into glittery, sheen-y and more matte. From Yuki's swatches, it seems like if you want more or less glitter, you just have to swirl hunt for ones with the thinnest or thickest swirls of the colors/textures you want. That's rough for people who are stuck ordering online, but hey, if it's very important, I bet there are Specktrettes who would be happy to do a little extra personal swirl hunting and mail you the spoils. Last year I bought the ENTIRE collection of MES for a friend of mine out of state and believe me, I picked through everything for her.
In honor of these swatches, I wore Hint of Sapphire today, highlighted with Young Venus, and I felt like I had fairy tale eyes all day. It was very cute with Weekend Getaway on the lips and a little Sakura blush on the cheeks. 'Had to wear happy makeup, because I had a cracked tooth drilled the hell up for prep for my first crown.
Obviously *some* swatches is always better than *no* swatches...
I think in the case of Yuki... I certainly appreciate that she has swatches when there are none to be found elsewhere...it helps to at least start trimming the list, but I usually like to see as many swatches as I can from different sources before I make the final call....
so, I think my main point is to take them with a grain of salt and wait it out.... if these ones don't look at that great....at least wait to see a few more elsewhere before you totally count things out...if things look gritty or dull, that may just be that it was a bad swatch day and things didn't get captured in their most flattering way on film this time.
I mean... T's swatches or reviews don't always look totally accurate to me either...
I'm holding out to see some other ones before I make up my mind completely.
Here are some pictures of Water. She is excited about the upcoming collection but does not really say anything about Water nor swatch it.

I wish she would've swatched it
it would've been nice to have more swatches floating around
Swatches are really hard to take. I struggle with it for my blog as I only have an iphone camera. I don't think that should stop you from blogging, even though its "amateur". At least people take the time to swatch, post pictures, and share them with everyone. I appreciate what bloggers do and its very kind of them to share. Of course you always have to remember that it can look a lot different in life with the finish, method of application, skintone, quality of camera, etc. Not everyone has the resources to get a fancy SLR with macro or whatnot. I find it that pictures give you a very rough estimate of a product and that you should still give it the benfit of a doubt and see in stores yourself. I am going to wait to see these in stores. I love the ultra watery metallic-ness of the extra dimensions, so I hope the MSFs here have the same intensity. I LOVEEEE whisper of guilt. LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE :3
